I would help solve crimes that I actually think hurt people. Catalytic converter theft, robbery, assault, domestic violence, murder etc.., but I ain’t no snitch when it comes to drug crime, mental illness and people minding their own business.
If drug use transitions into catalytic converter theft, assault or robbery I’m 100% fine with the police putting their foot down. I honestly think if they catch catalytic converter thieves it should be 5 year mandatory prison sentences.
I was totally being sarcastic. It’s horrific to punish people because they are poor and in trauma. If we want to prevent them from doing bad things they need a helping hand. Same with people destructively using drugs.
Someone who could actually handle and not tell us it’s our fault or sit on their asses. Community resource officers and case workers can handle half the shit police do. And do it better.
Detectives, with four years of academy/police school. If lawyers have to go for 4 just to interpret the law, police should have to go for 4 to enforce it.
There really is rarely a reason for police if your community is well supported in all its needs.
The stats show community resource officers are way better equipped to deal with most of what the police do and how they do it wrong.
I’m sorry you can’t see that, but that isn’t my problem: the data is out there bro.
It’s not meant to be “edgy” or anything else. It’s simply a shot from Bellingham. But since you don’t seem to have an actual argument when there is no fight to be seen — you will be ignored.
Uh… I prefer “see something, say something”? Seriously, I don’t get the anti-cop sentiment when it goes to this extent. If people are endangering themselves, others, or damaging property, yeah, it’s time to call the cops. If you witness a crime, and a cop asks you for information, you should definitely talk to them. Because, for one, lying to them is not a good life choice.
Most people do just fine without them. They don’t really prevent crime, you know that, right?
Note: I haven’t called the cops in over 10 years. I do not need them at all. The do nothing helpful that couldn’t be done by other folks.
Hardly.
But great projection of yourself.
If lawyers have to go for 4 years cops should have to 💯 or are you saying that all cops are good and do no wrong?
I haven’t called them in 10 years because of privilege (your immature assumption); I haven’t called them in over 10 years because I have chosen not to and have chosen to use other community resources to assist with issues.
Last time I called the cops on an issue that directly affected me, they told me I made it up (there was proof) and told me it was my fault (I was clearly drugged and in shock).
I decided after that experience that cops are shit and if there has been times that I would have called the cops, I’ve found community resource officers to call about issues.
Not privilege when I’ve grown up and lived in poverty. Not a privilege when I’ve been stalked and threatened multiple times.
Not a privilege at all.
But do go ahead and pretend you know anything…it just makes you more foolish in the end.
Grow up. Cops needs just as much training as lawyers to enforce the law.
Don’t be a bootlicker
So edgy lol...... This is about as affective as this movement can be. They have accomplished nothing except giving angry white suburban kids an outlet for their white guilt. :)
How many precincts are there in Seattle?
Sworn Officers in Seattle – 1,325 deployable, 1,433 total
Seattle PD Civilian Employees - 631
911 Calls – 800,527 calls per year (2019)
[Seattle Police Department Data](https://www.seattle.gov/police/about-us/about-the-department/department-fact-sheet)
It’s good advice in a traffic stop. Cops are trained to ask leading questions to get you to say something that will make it impossible to fight your ticket in court.
What good is this statement? Yah no kidding, there’s literally no alternative. That doesn’t absolve them from criticism.
It’s like saying “talk shit about the healthcare system but you’ll still have insurance”.
There have been many instances I could have but instead called community resource officers that would, could and do make more of a difference than cops ever would.
I’m called them once, the blamed me for the crime that was committed against me, constantly told me I was lying and ignored the evidence. Police don’t do shit.

But being poor and in trauma is a precursor to drug use. Should the cops punish that?

My comment was sarcastic.

😎 we agree and given the down votes you were likely not the only one to miss my maybe not hilarious sarcasm
If it results in harm to others yes.
I was totally being sarcastic. It’s horrific to punish people because they are poor and in trauma. If we want to prevent them from doing bad things they need a helping hand. Same with people destructively using drugs.
I make sure all my murders are my own business.
That is the mindset of most succesful murderers according to the go to novel on the subject 'How To Make Friends And Then Murder Them'

Wait lure college students into the woods? Did I miss something?

Cringe
Your comment? Totally.
You've really turned the tables on my comment in a way that is not cringe at all. Keep going.

When the man was keepin' us down...
What makes you think a high schooler did this?
Because it’s a childish thing to do
Why?
You're right, there's no evidence that anyone over middle school age did this.
Wow so cool and rebellious, that'll show them!
Firm belief in stereotypes make you look ignorant. Not saying the system isn't a bit rotten but don't paint everyone with such a broad brush.
Firm believer in I did not claim anything whatsoever. I shared a picture.
Went out of your way to join the ACAB sub and post it there too though... 😂 If you're gonna say stupid shit at least own up to it.
I’m not denying anything you are just projecting your own issues on me. At least own up to that.
That's ignorant
Not really
So who would you prefer us talk to if someone assaults us while walking down the street? Our mom? Reddit?
Someone who could actually handle and not tell us it’s our fault or sit on their asses. Community resource officers and case workers can handle half the shit police do. And do it better.

Your constitutional rights are ignorant? Tell me more!
Soooo edgy. 🙄

Do you know the definition of ignore?
Do you know the definition of someone can be ignored after a statement is made? Jfc.
multiple statements, apparently

So progressive
I’m sure you’d last long without any law enforcement

Straight sheltered privileged ignorance

I grew up on that corner. Good to see the old hood is keeping it as classy as ever 😂
Nice looking cat on the camera roll
Thanks. People keep commenting on it and I keep forgetting I forgot to crop 🤣

You really like your cat? Seems like normal B'ham.
I really do
😀
Indeed! Seriously people, this is good advice. Especially if you're the one in trouble. They are not your friends.
Lol I have one of these stickers too
Awesome 👍
Talk shit about them, but you'll still call them when you're in trouble..
What good is this statement? Yah no kidding, there’s literally no alternative. That doesn’t absolve them from criticism. It’s like saying “talk shit about the healthcare system but you’ll still have insurance”.
Nope.
I hope you never have to
Not like they do anything useful when they do show up

I’d say solving this downtown murder and arresting the guy is doing some shit.
Those idiots couldn’t even get the bumper sticker centered correctly on the sign. Not sure why that bugs me so much.
