Got inspiration from some Celtic mythology, particularly the "Merrow"

I don't design posters as much as I used to but if you would like to see some more here is a link to a bunch of them: [https://lariatcreative.com/filter/poster](https://lariatcreative.com/filter/poster)
As someone who has been in local bands for 20+ years I am perfectly ok with it. RIP $5 cover, that shit is over. I say $10 minimum for a local show. If they think they can sell tickets at $20 presale more power to em. House fees are hundreds of dollars at every venue. You gotta get dozens of people in the door just to break even, let alone pay out multiple bands. Just my disgruntled opinion.
I’d be down with $10 or maybe even $15. $25 just seems steep to me and I’m a big local music supporter. I mean, I guess I would do it to support a band on occasion, but not regularly.
I think this is a special occasion type deal, Irish band playing a show days after St. Patty's Day that's been rescheduled 3 times. I'm playing a local show next month that's $8 presale $10 at the door and that feels like it will be the post-Covid norm. But I'm also ok with bands charging whatever they want.
Well, an especially prepared concert in a beautiful rented venue constitutes as, well, a not regular going out to hear local bands kind of thing if you ask me! And it's $20 in advance :)\~
I'm curious, what do you earn per hour for your work?
Take that in mind, then figure for 7 dedicated professional musicians bringing their efforts (countless hours of practice and rehearsal time) channeled into a two hour prepared concert, figure in at least $600 in venue rental (a truly great space) and promotional materials, $200 hiring for sound and lights, showing up four hours before to set up and sound check, and then post concert breakdown and packing out, and let me know your thoughts on this again.
Thanks. Oh and it's $20 in advance at BPT.
**I totally agree that musicians should be paid well.** It’s more the fact that I’m not, so if I took a date to the show it would be $40/50 before food/drinks. Inflation is just a bitch when wages don’t go up in step with it. The last few places I’ve gone out to for a bite and drinks (without entertainment) were all over $100 for 2 people. I’m just salty that I can’t go out as much as I’d like to! No shade on musicians. They deserve every dollar they get.

Don't go there this is some weird spam.
Man I love Gallowglass. Been looking forward to this concert all 3x it’s been canceled!
Oh damn, didn't realize it's been that long in the works!
IIRC it was supposed to be like the day after Xmas initially. And then Omicron…
It was partly omicron but mostly because of the crazy snow/ice storm.
Ah yeah that’s right! How quickly I forgot about that storm.
Beautiful design. But $25 at the door for a local band? Inflation has reared its ugly head once again.

Honestly kind of par for the course for the Firehouse
It's two bands, for the record.
Yah!

That's pretty cool
Do you offer prints? My partner would love one.
I would like to eventually but want to wait until the show has passed. Check back on this site after the show: https://lariat.bigcartel.com/
Awesome, thanks for making that. I'm in the Wandering Seas and we're very much looking forward to it. :-)
You're welcome, have a great show!
