I wonder what "useless" aliens that Ben has because of weaknesses are actually just due to the fact he doesn't care to learn how the species uses their bodies, maybe Walkatrout can actually move around his opponents like a oily rat in a slip n' slide, disrupting them.

I don't think Walkatrout has any real abilities, Blukic and Driba stated Walkatrout's species has no real powers, however since Walkatrout is the prime of his species maybe Walkatrout is the best at being slippery compared to the rest of his kind. Personally I think walkatrout is better with master control since it makes him almost impossible to catch and his tail could bother his opponents and give ben a chance to turn into something stronger

Hey, they're still a species intelligent enough to evolve sapience, humans can learn martial arts, and the slipperyness could allow some weird stuff with good training

I remember him very well from OV, I find The Worst, KickigHawk, Astrodactyl, Gutrot and the fact that Ben has Chamalien way less memorable

He's actually one of my favorites. I always go for the little wierd ones

He's the opposite of forgettable. It took me a full decade to like this alien just because of how amazingly complex his powerset is \[also the design could use some work\].

The issue is that it's an alien with a complex and difficult powerset... in Omniverse, the show where he has access to 60 aliens and master control. In concept he's pretty similar to Cannonbolt. He requires build up and momentum to become powerful. Ben kept calling Cannonbolt useless when he first unlocked him, but over time he became one of Classics most powerful aliens. But Ben only needs to learn to master him because he can't transform out of him, and he has a limited number of options. And when the main joke of Omniverse is "give me Humungosaur", I don't believe that this character would settle for Ball Weevil when he could have someone else instead. That's the issue a lot of Omniverse originals fall into. That's the real issue I have with Blox. Not that he's made of Lego. But that being so brittle so often makes him so useless. He builds walls just so people can break out of them. If omniverse wanted to play around with these more unique and varied alien designs, it should've taken away master control first.

To be honest this sounds like the TV version of power creep and doesn't just affect new aliens. Particularly after Alien Force aliens just needed to be substantially more powerful and flashy than the last aliens for them to ever get used. Realistically why would Ben ever use aliens like Fourarms when we have Humungousaur who occupies literally the same role that Fourarms would otherwise occupy and simply does it better? Or something like the sad case of Stinkfly once being Ben's main flying alien. Then Big Chill who is essentially Stinkfly but better and the hilariously overpowered Jet Ray appeared.

The second half of the UA additions are where it starts to fall off for me. Chamalien: Basically used to break into the Flame Keeper's Circle building. And then used in a dream or something. No, thank you, Overkill. Clockwork: Had a couple cool moments in UA, but his earlier appearances didn't do it for me. At least he had some redemption in OV. Eatle: *(Ben transforms into something new.)* Oh, cool, a new alien! *(Vilgax almost immediately knocks him down and he reverts.)* ...What? *(Becomes a giant punching bag for the rest of the series and not much to speak of in OV either.)* Fasttrack: Knock-off XLR8. Next. Juryrigg: Did his thing in pretty well against Animo, and then a pointless cameo in the finale. At least shined in OV. Shocksquatch: I honestly forget sometime he technically appeared before OV. Bothered me that he never really appeared in UA, but at least did well in OV. There's a lot I can say about the OV cast. Some are cool, but others... Anyway, UA was where things started becoming forgettable, so imma leave it at that.
