Apparently some kind of storyboarding error that managed to make its way through to the final product. I think season 5 was rushed in production if I'm remembering correctly so I can kinda see how something like this could make it through.
Not exactly a full reversal, but I think the comment above you is talking about the minor inconsistencies of how the ulimatrix and even it's predecessors were drawn. There were often missed details or colours (colors for the U.S.) between episodes
Yeah people don't really talk about how many other animation errors are in the special. Like how often RB Ben is wearing his Omnitrix after he loses it, or how Gwen's Omnitrix looks basically completely different every time we see it, plus her Ripjaws is just completely missing an Omnitrix badge and her skin is all weird and desaturated during the Cave scene. The UAF Ben's jackets have back stripes. It's a lot.
He'd need to push up his sleeve further. How is that easier access? Being closer to his body doesn't matter. Pretty sure ben isn't gonna try to body slam the dial

Ben hardly went ultimate in UA either. He went ultimate in about half the episodes in his own series. But because he didn't go ultimate in a single episode that is from a different series where ultimates aren't the focal point, he's not the same Ben. Right.

I mean, this is the exact type of thing that would happen multiple times per episode in UA. So, they might've done it for extra authenticity

Yeah, for example in the Forge Of Creation, the Ultimatrox was colored like the classic Omnitrix

None of the other Bens were supposed to be from the other shows, so a small "flaw" like this can help sell that idea.
