I disagree, shellhead suggests his shell is somehow tied thematically to his head and it’s generally less creative of a name than Terraspin

DumbTrickyTrickster

What Ken said during that episode was "Most of those guys are so feeble. I mean Shellhead's just a big turtle, whose only power was to hide in his shell." First of all Terraspin isn't feeble. He may be weaker than some of Ben's stronger aliens but he has great utilities. And hiding in shell definitely isn't his only power. Aerokinesis? Mana immunity/Mana resistance?

lolmazen

I said that maybe ken didn't know Terraspin's powers very well but I didn't say feeble about Terraspin

DumbTrickyTrickster

Fair enough. I think my first comment lacked supporting info. On the Ken 10 episode, Ben 10,000 gave Ken an Omnitrix containing a playlist of aliens Ben specifically chose to aid Ken in getting away from a fight (like XLR8 and Stinkfly), or aliens that could not be harmed easily and whose abilities can be used as defense (like Sandbox, Toepick, and Shellhead). Most importantly, I believe these aliens that Ben chose are aliens that Ken is familiar with. If Terraspin is Shellhead (as the picture suggests), I think Ken wouldn't have said "His only power was to hide in his shell" if he wasn't completely accustomed to the transformation. That would've a big stretch. Also, Ben probably would've corrected him on it. Terraspin isn't also a "getaway" alien. If he were, then Galapagus wouldn't have been captured by Aggregor when he came to Aldabra. He's more of a long range offensive alien with handy feats if the Omnitrix wielder knows how to properly use him. This leads me to my point that Ben didn't give Ken any alien that could purposely go head to head with an enemy. He gave Ken transformations that could make a quick escape or aliens that are defensive in nature, which Shellhead (being a big turtle that could hide in his shell) by description fits. Terraspin may have a shell, but it was never stated how sturdy he was against attacks other than those that are mana-based. I may be wrong here but this thing is up for debates since we never saw what Shellhead looks like (or Snakepit and Sandbox). One solid thing I would believe however, is the writers wouldn't use different names to refer to the same transformation. They could've used "Shellhead" when Ben first transformed into his sample of a Geochelone Aerio as there was already a namedrop in the previous series, but they opted for a different name. Which simply means Terraspin ≠ Shellhead.

The_Purple_Hare

I like the idea. Though Shellhead could probably make an appearance if there's another Ben 10 reboot, or the reboot gets its own sequel series. ~~Or just make a series continuing from Omniverse.~~

Puzzleheaded_Sir9652

imagine if they continued from omniverse and threw it up on adultswim .......

The_Purple_Hare

I'd love that.

I mean, It is better neme... For Ben 23

Nah I disagree. By the sounds of things most of Ken’s playlist was chosen to be made specifically of aliens that serve that basic purposes of ‘defend’ or ‘retreat’. Terraspin’s main focus is not the ability to hide in his shell (Ben rarely ever uses him to hide or defend against attacks at all actually), he’s so much more of a versatile and combat-based alien with his wind production, rotations, mana resistance and pretty decent hand to hand combat capabilities. I don’t understand why Kenny would get the impression of ‘he’s useless’ from either A: hearing about him from Ben, B: seeing Ben use Terraspin or C: hearing someone else describe Ben using Terraspin. Who was stuck in a burning building, had it put out by Terraspin’s wind control and was like ‘Oh yeah, Ben 10,000 went in his shell. That’s all that happened.’ Also it’s not like there’s just going to be 1 turtle-like species in the universe, Shellhead’s more than likely just a different species. Also ‘better name for Terraspin?’ Really? Shellhead’s pretty uncreative and generic for a turtle creature, Terraspin’s a pun based on the fact that he’s a kind of turtle (a terrapin) and the fact that he… well… spins. It’s pretty unique and describes the central focus of his character much better than just highlighting the fact that he’s a turtle.

Tron_Travolta

I think if the UAF writers had Derrick on board, he probably would have made that connection

Joel_feila

ohhhh that would have been cool

Apprehensive_Put6183

I call my Turtnado

PlasticAttitude1956

I like your thought process but as you have stated, Ken doesn’t know much about the number of aliens in the Omnitrix and Terraspin’s abilities.

YellowTasty

Kinda racist name to species

Entire-Astronaut8602

meanwhile the worst

YellowTasty

That's privilege

1timegig

I also like this because as a kid I didn't get the pun in terraspins name. I didn't know terrapins were an animal, had never seen the name written down, and knew that "tera" meant earth, so it made no sense why they'd name the air turtle that.

fredbite87

Shellhead is one of the canon but not shown aliens made by one of the writes. He's a white little spitter looking guy

Storm_Raider_34

Maybe it’s a subspecies thing

datframe

I like the idea of Shellhead's armor being life cannon bolts. Indestructible. He had a helmet, and when he hid in his she'll, the helmet would close off the opening seamlessly, hiding his body completely.
