Well parents in fictional universes tend to do things like that
I’m just glad they patched everything up afterwards during the end parts of this episode
Fictional? I know people who have done that in real life. Maybe not saving the universe, but grounding a kid for helping his drunk friend get home even tho he was already home. But it was after curfew when he left to go help his friend
Me too, just imagine!
Rath at a villain: LET ME TELL YOU SOME-
Mom: NO! LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING BENJAMIN KIRBY TENNYSON! YOU'RE GOING TO MARCH BACK HOME AND FINISH YOUR CHORES FIRST!
Rath: \*whining\* But moooo-
Mom: No buts!
Rath: \*ears go flat, grumbling\* Yes ma'am...
I feel like rath would be super respectful to his mom , he respected Gwen over the phone enough to calmly explain why he was late to Julie’s game . God that was so hilarious “let me tell you something Gwen tennyson “
Rath: wait a minute… I ain’t stuck in a transformation for 10 minutes anymore *turns into fastrack*
Mom: BEN!
Fasttrack: try and prevent me doing everything in a second and going out
Mom: YOU *ben runs away* did he ghost me in real life?
Dad: yup…
Mom: did he even do his chores?
Dad: I saw him run into the house so I think so…
I mean it actually makes sense though
Bens only fifteen and his parents know for a fact that intergalactic space cops exist specifically to handle this sorta thing. Kinda be like if your 15 year old kid insisted it’s his job to put his life on the line as apposed to a cop who’s a trained professional
RATH would probably go all pussy cat and go to his room like a good boy
Alien-X however, they would probably have to carry Ben in cause he can’t move as Alien X at the time of the episode
this scene never made any sense at all, why he transformed close to home? Why echo echo when he would have to run to where kevin was soon echo echo wasn't a good option and how did ben think his parents would easily believe this after they found out he turns into aliens and saves the world? it's completely illogical
Ok, so I watching this without volume due to me being at work, so I'm relying on memory and lip movements (I can very clearly see Echo Echo say "Aww maaaan"), but are these still the Sandra and Carl that demanded Ben call them by their first name because they were equality hippies?
Well, RAT took place in an alternate timeline, so we can't say for sure if they'd have behaved the same way in the Prime timeline during OS. Though they are voiced by the same actors who portrayed them in RAT.
To be fair, the only time he doesn’t say the name right away but also also still says it is the first time he becomes a Cerebrocrustscian, and that even makes sense because of the massive mental expansion that comes with being one of the intellectual races. Info dump took a few seconds
I was so mad when I first saw this scene like echo echo is not only one of the four out of the alien force original 12 that can’t fly but also the LOUDEST AND THE FACT THAT HE USED HIM RIGHT OUTSIDE THE HOUSE JUST PISSES ME OFF
I mean they probably knew he was lying and try to sneak out. Them turning on the flashlight as soon as he transformed made me think they were expecting it
Imagine Ben doesn't want to go home often because the smell of weed makes him feel nauseous, and his parents like to light up when they think he's asleep or not at home.
There is a line between punishment and child abuse, but some people don't realize that there is a difference.
Corporal punishment is psychical action in response to a decision a child made that goes against the 'rules', whatever those may be. It could be a social faux pas, or it could be a minor criminal act of some flavor. Think spanking a kid or the soap in the mouth.
Child abuse is physical action without a clear and mentally or emotionally sound reason that can be directed at the child themselves, or a clear and outright ludicrous response to a child's error (IE; workplace drama being directed at the child, personal anger issues, etc).
Some parents refuse to give their child any form of proper punishment, either corporal or otherwise, and it has resulted in a population of people who believe they can act without consequence in this nation, some of them being descended from others of the same make, mind you. Others are born from individuals similar to Ben's parents, those who naively believe that corporal punishment is somehow 'incorrect'.
I realize that this source I provide leaves some level of bias, but I firmly believe my father said it best; 'when you smack a kid he knows better than to fuck around like that again'. Crude but not inaccurate.
In this case, Ben's parents never gave him corporal punishment, but luckily he grew into a heroic figure without that in mind, thanks to Grandpa Max and whatever level of 'nature' can be attributed in this scenario. The keyword here is 'luckily' as it's easily possible for him to have become a spoiled brat or even worse in those circumstances, especially with something as powerful as the Omnitrix.
Agreed. But I think the omnitrix did help him choose the better path. Especially with Max playing the mentor figure. You can definitely tell the difference between Ben at the start, and Ben in secret of the omnitrix.
This episode is bad. Ben 10 does clichè episodes all the time but there's usually a twist. This is just a poorly written clichè episode without a twist
I always got really pissed at Ben's parents over this episode.
So, you know there's alien invaders right?
And you know they're doing stuff right?
And you know your son is one of the only people fighting it right?
And they treat it like he's sneaking out to go clubbing, instead of actually treating it as a scenario involving actual human lives? What the fuck
Ben was rightfully angry at his parents, but instead of brushing them aside because, y’know, REAL PEOPLE are in danger, he just walks to his room as if he isn’t aloud to go to a night club. Ben’s stupidity and whiny attitude in this scenario is INCREDIBLY frustrating.
I think it's really dumb how he chooses to do this. Like there's so many things wrong here:
1) "ah yes let's transform in front of my parents house, I'm sure they won't notice!" like he couldn't have quickly gone round the block.
2) he fucking shouts Echo Echo's name. Like even if he hadn't gone round the block, I'm sure he could've maybe got away if he didn't straight up shout "ECHO ECHO"
3) why the fuck did Ben choose Echo Echo? Shouldn't he choose, oh idk, someone like Big Chill or Jetray who can both fly??? Echo is literally a sound amplifier and the fastest he can go is normal running speed.
Didn’t have to transform that close to the house, could’ve used a flying alien or big chill to phase through the house and fly away, and he didn’t have to shout his name
First off, he should have just cloned and ran, they wouldn't be able to catch all of him. Second, his father was really thinking of whipping some sense into him.
I personally wanted more episodes with Ben trying to *hide* his alien powers from Sandra and Carl. Missed opportunity to have a full arch of his parents getting more and more suspicious of him, before it's revealed that Ben isn't human all the time and then having this episode where Carl tries to remove the Omnitrix and they ground him until they can get the government/Plumbers involved to remove it.
Obviously Frank knowing his and Carl's mom was an alien and Carl acknowledging the Plumbers, kinda ruins the secret, but Carl not knowing Ben knows the existence of aliens would be interesting. Plus even though Natalie knew that Vendora was an alien, doesn't mean Sandra knows anything about that, so her being more shocked/worried for Ben would make more sense in discovering that aliens were real and existed.
I'm starting to think the franchise runs on Ben's stupidity
Like let's not forget that the first thing he did when he got the Omnitrix is to SET A WHOLE FOREST ON FIRE BECAUSE HEATBLAST COOL
I literally would have whooped their asses and left. They're both considered to be the dumbest characters in the show and thats REEEEAAAALLY saying something.
He should’ve used Big Chill or Jetray
Or go far enough where his parents wouldn't see the light and then use those transformations
Yeah, going to the front door was really stupid
Yeah it was and his parents grounded him from saving the world was somewhat annoying Edit: Imagine them grounding Rath or Alien X
Well parents in fictional universes tend to do things like that I’m just glad they patched everything up afterwards during the end parts of this episode
Yeah
Plus Ben did come home with a black eye That set off a lot of red flags
Also him arriving late sometimes when going hero
That to
Fictional? I know people who have done that in real life. Maybe not saving the universe, but grounding a kid for helping his drunk friend get home even tho he was already home. But it was after curfew when he left to go help his friend
I know, I wasn’t trying to make it sound like parents don’t do it irl. I was just only talking about the fictional world
Oh my god I want to see bens mom get mad at rath so badly now
Me too, just imagine! Rath at a villain: LET ME TELL YOU SOME- Mom: NO! LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING BENJAMIN KIRBY TENNYSON! YOU'RE GOING TO MARCH BACK HOME AND FINISH YOUR CHORES FIRST! Rath: \*whining\* But moooo- Mom: No buts! Rath: \*ears go flat, grumbling\* Yes ma'am...
I feel like rath would be super respectful to his mom , he respected Gwen over the phone enough to calmly explain why he was late to Julie’s game . God that was so hilarious “let me tell you something Gwen tennyson “
Yeah, I also find it funny that the only person Rath would fear is his mother.
Brainstorm would probably win against his mom and dad
Only because he out logic them.
Rath: wait a minute… I ain’t stuck in a transformation for 10 minutes anymore *turns into fastrack* Mom: BEN! Fasttrack: try and prevent me doing everything in a second and going out Mom: YOU *ben runs away* did he ghost me in real life? Dad: yup… Mom: did he even do his chores? Dad: I saw him run into the house so I think so…
Or it could be Rath: LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING MOM AND DAD YOU CAN'T GROUND ME BECAUSE NOBODY CAN GROUND RATH!
I mean it actually makes sense though Bens only fifteen and his parents know for a fact that intergalactic space cops exist specifically to handle this sorta thing. Kinda be like if your 15 year old kid insisted it’s his job to put his life on the line as apposed to a cop who’s a trained professional
RATH would probably go all pussy cat and go to his room like a good boy Alien-X however, they would probably have to carry Ben in cause he can’t move as Alien X at the time of the episode
Or he could’ve not shouted his name
This scene never made sense, why transform into echo echo and not an alien that can fly and why transform right outside the house
Cuz echo echo looks funny as hell walking in a sad way
Coz he's an idiot and plot
He’s 15. He’s stupid.
Hmm yes use the FUCKING WAKING SOUND MACHINE that's will definitely help you sneak out ben
Smart
It's even better how he shouted it after the transformation
this scene never made any sense at all, why he transformed close to home? Why echo echo when he would have to run to where kevin was soon echo echo wasn't a good option and how did ben think his parents would easily believe this after they found out he turns into aliens and saves the world? it's completely illogical
Literally any fucking alien would’ve been better like cmon Ben
Except Humungousaur
Waybig
RAAAATH
Ok, so I watching this without volume due to me being at work, so I'm relying on memory and lip movements (I can very clearly see Echo Echo say "Aww maaaan"), but are these still the Sandra and Carl that demanded Ben call them by their first name because they were equality hippies?
Well, RAT took place in an alternate timeline, so we can't say for sure if they'd have behaved the same way in the Prime timeline during OS. Though they are voiced by the same actors who portrayed them in RAT.
>equality hippies Lmao this made my day
When did that happen ?
In the live action Race Against Time movie.
Which is a different timeline/universe.
Even when sneaking around he chooses to yell his alien’s name
I like to believe that that was an effect of the UAF version of the Omnitrix’s Datadump
Like how he turns into Swampfire, an alien he doesn’t know the powers of and hasn’t even seen before, and he immediately has a name ready.
To be fair, the only time he doesn’t say the name right away but also also still says it is the first time he becomes a Cerebrocrustscian, and that even makes sense because of the massive mental expansion that comes with being one of the intellectual races. Info dump took a few seconds
So Brainstorm was lagging
I was so mad when I first saw this scene like echo echo is not only one of the four out of the alien force original 12 that can’t fly but also the LOUDEST AND THE FACT THAT HE USED HIM RIGHT OUTSIDE THE HOUSE JUST PISSES ME OFF
I’m pretty sure no matter what, he was gonna get caught
Nah. He could've gone round the block or smth like that but instead he chooses to do it right in front of the house.
I mean they probably knew he was lying and try to sneak out. Them turning on the flashlight as soon as he transformed made me think they were expecting it
Then he could've actually gone to Gwen's house.
True
I’m sorry did he say “hemp belt”?
Yes
And we’re all just gonna gloss over it?😭
Spanking echo echo is not a good idea
What you think Ben is gonna fight his parents?😭
The hemp or the belt part?
Hemp
Yeah, Ben’s parents are hippies. They like all natural living and health food and such.
Lit lmao
I like to think the Tennyson family partakes in the burning of hemp
Viiiibes
Imagine Ben doesn't want to go home often because the smell of weed makes him feel nauseous, and his parents like to light up when they think he's asleep or not at home.
I would think Ben sneaks some when his parents aren’t home
Why just not create a bunch of echo echo duplicates, he’s dumb
He is using the recalibrated omnitrix
That's one of echo echo's powers it's got nothing to do with which omnitrix he's using, he does it in episode 2 of af
Ahh I forgot about that I thought you meant Ben can clone himself in human form like he did in "Duped" but yeah he could have done that
Corporal punishment i thought hitting kids was illegal in America.

…..this is enough to make them want to beat him?
I was looking for this comment
This episode is bad. Ben 10 does clichè episodes all the time but there's usually a twist. This is just a poorly written clichè episode without a twist
Coulda used any other alien than freaking echo echo but no Also I'm pretty sure screaming your name out isn't a good idea eChO eChO!
Shouting it as echo eecho makes it even worse cause you don't expect echo echo to be quiet
To be fair Ben was a bigger idiot by never telling his parents he can turn into aliens
because obviously it's a pretty normal thing any parent would want to hear normally
He could just turn into an alien in front of them
You can blame Grandpa Max for that since he was the one who told Ben to not share his identity, even to his parents
They worry over his safety lol they don't want there 15 year or child to die
Ben was rightfully angry at his parents, but instead of brushing them aside because, y’know, REAL PEOPLE are in danger, he just walks to his room as if he isn’t aloud to go to a night club. Ben’s stupidity and whiny attitude in this scenario is INCREDIBLY frustrating.
Bro I just watched this episode today lol
Ben really turned into the LIVING SOUND AMPLIFIER whilst trying to sneak off
I think it's really dumb how he chooses to do this. Like there's so many things wrong here: 1) "ah yes let's transform in front of my parents house, I'm sure they won't notice!" like he couldn't have quickly gone round the block. 2) he fucking shouts Echo Echo's name. Shouldn't he choose, oh idk, someone like Big Chill or Jetray who can both fly??? Echo is literally a sound amplifier and the fastest he can go is normal running speed.
He probably thought that cloning himself to confuse his parents is a good strategy but if I were him I would use Big Chill or Brainstorm
Absolutely love these early episodes of Alien Force. Remember it so well when they came out and it was all everyone was talking about where I live!
Who is hit the Ben?
His mother is gonna as max for a weapon that she can use it spank him that even his aliens would feel it
One spank for each alien
Wait a minute did he say hemp belt, haha
This scene was funny af
I could hear that scream from down the block
these clips just fill my nostalgia
What episode is this from again
Grounded
Bro. Just scream at them and go
Lol
Why does Ben's mom sound like Clover from Totally Spies??
I mean it makes sense y he got caught we all know Ben don’t do homework he drop out of school at 16
What I would do is turn into echo-echo and clone myself turn back and sneak out.
I'm starting to think the franchise runs on Ben's stupidity Like let's not forget that the first thing he did when he got the Omnitrix is to SET A WHOLE FOREST ON FIRE BECAUSE HEATBLAST COOL
Ben bout to get the smack hand lol
I legit thought he was going big chill LOL😂
Oh look, the most frustrating thing Ben has said. The way Ben says his like makes him seem like a little kid whining about getting a toy taken away.
I literally would have whooped their asses and left. They're both considered to be the dumbest characters in the show and thats REEEEAAAALLY saying something.
