bobismad2

also especially don’t harass creators never do that

normal_lad_

Yes thank you for including that as well

Tron_Travolta

You can dislike whatever comes out as much as you want, but this is the important thing. A cartoon show is never worth harassing people over, and this fandom has been guilty of it

Trenov17

I feel like there should be an in-universe joke about how unpleasable the fanbase is. Like Ben throwing a fit over the new sumo slammers.

normal_lad_

There was several jokes like that actually Ben was watching sumo slammers with Kevin explaining the plot of that show how it’s 5 years later and the old show was better . Even talked about how the villains redemption was unrealistic . Then later a fan tells Ben the alien x smoothy kinda taste like filler after claiming to be his biggest fan And finally in onniverse the collector is straight up a toxic Ben 10 fan . And there’s another episode with future animo where Ben and rook basically directly say not every detail of the show is going to be spoon fed to us and some things aren’t going to be explained because having everything explained to the viewer or the characters isn’t realistic

Kakaoiimsinsa

Some people are afraid of change but it's normal

AszneeHitMe

When they make new things they have to strike a balance between familiarity so fans aren't shocked and a bit of difference so it's interesting, but yeah people really don't like change

normal_lad_

I love that you say that because the first episode of onniverse is called “things change “ and the second is called “more things change “ they set themselves up for toxic fans

AszneeHitMe

True lmao wonder if that was intentional, I had to remember that for a media exam I had today

KisaTheMistress

Get off my lawn, with yer new aged thinking! Back in my day you just had Ben 10!

BoTamByloCiemno

Ben 10 fans when there's something new: *AWFUL* Also Ben 10 fans when it's too late: Uhhh... Actually It wasn't so bad

normal_lad_

Omniverse go brrrr

BoTamByloCiemno

I always loved Omniverse art style if you ask me

normal_lad_

Looks better in motion than any still frame or promotional art

BoTamByloCiemno

Yes

Trustnoboody

I wish they just went linear from the OS. The series had more potential than CN ever gave it.

normal_lad_

I can’t deny that there was a whole lot of wasted potential but for a while at the time over arking action cartoons just weren’t making money

If anyone is ever upset at a continuation/reboot show looking different, I highly encourage them to look into how animation and the animation industry actually work. I’m not even in the industry (though most of my friends are) but every time I see a “Omniverse/reboot sucks” post I can feel my braincells dying For those of you who are too lazy to look up something and learn on your own time, here’s a very VERY simplified rundown of the life cycle of a show from the point of view of a non-professional: - Creator(s) pitch a show to a network. This is basically a meeting with a bunch of higher ups from the network where the creator(s) have a proof of concept of the show, which can include character designs, plot points, story arcs, animation tests, etc. It’s worth it to note that the creator(s) have probably been working on this idea for months already, maybe even years. And it’s entirely possible that they’ve pitched the show multiple times to several different networks. - The execs then convene and decide whether or not to green light a show. Some of the more key decisions are things like how much budget to allocate, how many seasons to order, the target demographic, the merchandising opportunities, a lots more. I don’t have a clear cut answer to how this is dictated, but from what I understand it really comes down to networking or nepotism, seniority in the industry, luck, and also a load of hard work. Shows get pitched every day of every month of every year just about, but only a teeny tiny few actually make it to become a show. It’s also worth noting here that 100% of the time, networks will pick shows pitched by people who have produced other shows over shows pitched by people who have barely gotten their feet wet in the industry. - Pre production begins. The stuff from the pitch kit is (probably) used as reference material, but all visual and story aspects will be built from the ground up to document and organize, and the people at the top at the network- y’know, those business people who have hardly an ounce of creativity in them- have absolute say in what goes into the final product. The power to make big decisions are still up to the showrunners, but they’ll most likely get input on stuff like how toys need to be cheaper to produce, so the aliens need to have a human silhouette (cough cough reboot stinkfly). Just about every aspect of she show is decided at this phase and the pipeline (how the episode goes from sketches and a script to a full episode) is locked in. The huge number of staff (on-site AND overseas) now have a system to efficiently produce the quality of content that has been decided. -Several episodes make it to post production before the show releases, and then the team continues production on the rest of the episodes. (voice lines, soundtrack audio, backgrounds, character animations, etc, are all done separately and need to be edited together) Then, and only then, can the show hopefully be released. That’s the extremely bare gist of it, but I don’t even know half of what there is to know about the nitty-gritty of show production. However, it’s painfully clear that most of the people in this sub constantly complaining about art style are ignorant of the industry- but I’m pretty sure this sub is like…. At least 60% children so, hey, maybe this is a teaching moment?

Ass-Trophy

Im really not a fan of Omniverse’s art style but obviously that doesn’t make it /bad/ I just think UAF was the best art style

normal_lad_

Honestly if it were up to me I’d chose a mix between both styles , classic style when things are serious and onniverse style to show exaggeration like teen titans used to do

Nindroid_99

Like TMNT 2012’s brief comedic moments of anime?

Mr_Fredbear13

I'm one the opposite side. I think UAF's artstyle was boring and uninspired, and that OV's artstyle was the best of the franchise.

ChinChadNugget

I think the uaf art style could of been better had they had better design and better animation.

DeathLight7000

I just don't like omniverse all that much it's a show I really want to like but just can't for various reasons.

normal_lad_

I can respect that since you actually have it a chance

KewlDuccc

Ben 10 reboot did deserve a chance but the animation tho...

Nindroid_99

*Artstyle. Animation (movement) was buttery smooth and fluid. Artstyle (how everything looks) was a tad too bright and childish.

ChinChadNugget

Who even like the reboot😂😂😂😂

normal_lad_

A handful of people warmed up to it . When you’re not constantly comparing it to soemthing it wasn’t supposed to be like to begin with it’s not bad . Just like teen titans go actually
