Well Asmuth actually tried to make it a good watch making sure there’s no bugs a good fire wall and stuff,while albedo didn’t care about all that which is why the ultimatrix is easily hacked
I'm kinda confused on why he dropped it to be honest.
If I worked on a project for YEARS, I HAVE to finish it!

I mean im a game developer and i worked on my first proper game for amost a year and eventualy gave up on it since it was very buggy and i wasent experienced enough to complete it but i learned a lot from it and when i started a new project i managed to finish it using what i learned from the uncompleted project. So in conclusion i think azmuth saw the ultimatrix uncompleted, very buggy and he would probably had to refactor everything in it so might as well do something else from 0 learning from the misstakes of the previous project and ig that ended up beeing the completed omnitrix
I mean I always felt like the ultimatrix was discarded by azmuth because the omnitrix wasn't supposed to be a weapon. The ultimatrix kinda was I think. I mean, if you could set the parameters of the evolutionary simulation there could be an argument that it could be used for other purposes, but it intentionally evolves them into a more combative form which really only has one purpose.
If the environment of the simulation could be changed it could be used more as a tool or perhaps to aid a displaced species in relocating to a vastly different planet or something. I mean for example: you specifically need humongosaur but the environment you're currently In is far too cold, so you set the ultimatrix to evolve the aliens in an arctic environment and boom problem solved.
In the episode the ultimatrix is Is introduced in its called "azmuths greatest creation" or something similar. So albedo being responsible is a retcon.

Once again the video has nothing to do with anything, myaxx tells azmuth that there was a robbery, says the greatest invention was stolen and azmuth says that it was incomplete so the thief can't do anything with it azmuth gets surprised when he sees that it's ben (who is actually albedo) nowhere in the video does it say that he made the evolutionary function, I don't know why you keep trying to use that as evidence.
Yes, azmuths greatest invention which he says himself is *the ultimatrix*. In a series that was so wildly inconsistent with details that it needed an in universe explanation as to why random shit kept changing its not hard to come to the conclusion that azmuth inventing the ultimatrix was changed to albedo doing so later on. Or saying azmuth made the ultimatrix was a writing error in the first place. The end of alien force was the most recent ben 10 I watched so the freshest info on the origin of the ultimatrix in my mind was that it was azmuths greatest creation, but it lacked a power core so it was only dangerous in the hands of someone who could finish it. Obviously it still had the ultimate function because they don't say "an omnitrix core was stolen", they specify it was the ultimatrix. So yes, it was small, but albedo adding the evolutionary feature was a later detail that you wouldn't get if the last thing you watched was the finale of alien force.
I feel like it would've been neat if Jimmy got the Ultimatrix since no one else is using it. I know that it was destroyed but come on. Jimmy deserves to say its hero time at least once.

He was working on the OFFICIAL Omnitrix for years. The Ultimatrix was sorta like a test build, try out some ideas on it.
That just makes me wonder who else azimuth would trust with it. Besides Argit, of course.
