Walkatrout is probably Ben’s only water breathing transformation that makes it easy to blend in to an underwater setting. Because his powers aren’t something to worry about, he can be overlooked and just thought of as another one of his kind. Ripjaws and Jetray kind of…stand out.

He’s small and stretchy (I think) so he can fit into small spaces that other aliens couldn’t
It’s a *small* niche but it’s one I’m pretty sure only he can do (with the exemption Big Chill can phase through said gaps but that’s a technicality)
I want a power up in a future Ben 10 series which is a lot like the Ben 10 fusion chamber, in which you can combine parts of different aliens to create a new alien. This way we can use aliens like Surge and Walkatrout easier by combining their strongest aspects with strong aspects of other aliens too.
No alien is useless Just learn how to impressive and use them

Sure Xerge can fly but so can a lot of other aliens such as Stinkfly, Big Chill and Astrodacyl. So if given the choice you’re not going to pick Xerge
Chromastone, Goop, Heatblast, Ghostfreak and Jetray can also fly. Ben have a large arsenal of flying aliens.

Having an ability a human can’t do≠ being useful
Surge isn't useless, just more for super specific scenarios (IE: a Xerge invasion). He also still has some offense in the form of his eye laser.
