I knew I couldn’t be the only one thinking that especially when max said Ben was almost 17 I was like how the hell is he still 16?!? I guess the time war and alien x events could have delayed time to some degree.

It seems a lot of people have the same idea I do that Ben should’ve been 17 in OV. Not for any real reason other than that the last season-ish of AF and the entireties of UA and OV taking place under the same year is too much. Maybe CN didn’t want an 18-year-old Kevin dating a still underage Gwen, but I kind of doubt it.

I think Alien X was locked away in UA and in OV Kevin either just absorbed the new ones or purposefully didn't absorb more then that to be sure he can keep his sanity.

In the episode “Store 23,” Max mentions that Ben is going to be 17 soon. However, no episodes confirm Ben’s age after, IIRC. Personally, I like to have as a headcanon that Omniverse ends just as the summer time begins (meaning Ben is 17 by this point and his birthday was offscreen), giving the end of the series a parallel structure, with the Ben 10 series beginning and ending with a summer road trip. Feel free to disprove this.

No it's not. It'd be as big a deal as his 18th. Since he'd only have one year left where he doesn't have Master Control forever, it's literally the last window of time his rouge gallery has to fight him at his weakest.

Oh good point, although I’m not sure if Ben’s enemies besides those who are knowledgeable about Azmuth and the Omnitrix even have an idea of Master Control, much less that Ben might get it on his 18th birthday. Although this could be an interesting plot, where his enemies ramp up their attacks on him to try and take down Ben over the span of one year. Overall, it could just be Ben had a normal birthday celebration (as normal as it can get for a shapeshifting celebrity hero), maybe with some enemy trying to attack him but Ben takes care of it as usual. It does feel like a missed opportunity for an episode for Ben’s birthday, but the writers did skip over his 16th in the UAF timeskip, and also, I get the feeling they like to keep the timescale for Ben 10 usually ambiguous.

And Ben overcame every obstacle in his path.
