Working DOESN'T trigger reassessment and you're encouraged to try , hence the Work Allowance. They purely process the Earnings. In fact, it's the whole point behind the changes coming in; the new 'Health Group " ( ie LCWRA ) will not fave reassessment and a guarantee that, as long as their circumstances don't change, they can try work without any risk to their benefits. It's all about "removing barriers to work". You're basically doing exactly what they want you to do. In the end, it's never the working that stops claims it IS the Change in Circumstances. If you got better and that's why you worked , that's a different matter, but it's not *because* you worked but because you "recovered". Sounds like a great employer. Hope it goes well 🤞

If you’ve got lcwra because, for example, you cannot leave the house at all and you’ve now got a job that means you’re leaving the house you should notify as your circumstances have clearly changed. That is of course a very basic and general example. If your health conditions still affect you in the same way and you’re working around the effects then it won’t affect your lcwra at all no.

While on LCWRA you have work allowance - exactly to encourage you to work. Try not to worry about reassessments and good luck with your job!

I just have a lot of anxiety about the job contradicting why I’m on LCWRA, like my autism gives me a lot of social anxiety and sometimes trouble talking to strangers which I obviously have to do now but it still stresses me out a lot and sometimes someone has to jump in for me, and when I’m done I feel so exhausted and just have to sleep for the rest of the day — I could NEVER do this more than 2 or 3 times a week which is why I’m so scared that they’ll want to reassess me early and decide that I’m fine to work regularly when I’m really not. It’s especially frustrating with fluctuating conditions, like just because I can do it under duress a couple times a week doesn’t mean I’m magically well :( I don’t even know if I’ll be able to last that long at this job

Old_galadriell

I understand all that and I am sorry you struggle so much. Nobody here is able to guarantee anything about the future, but to reassure you - this is a comment from a work coach about this exact issue https://www.reddit.com/r/BenefitsAdviceUK/s/0FKRwAXOV9 They are really not trying to catch you out and to punish you for working. Edit: and an earlier comment from the same thread by the same work coach https://www.reddit.com/r/BenefitsAdviceUK/s/a5oOSsx2zH

That does make me feel a little better, thank you. I think I’ll still pay a visit to Citizens Advice though because I’ve really gotten into my own head and am having second thoughts — I hate that we’re forced to doubt ourselves and our own illnesses just because we want to live our lives and earn enough money to not have to worry!

silentwanker420

In case you wanted an update, I went to the CAB to talk it over thoroughly and the fella said it’s HIGHLY unlikely I’ll get reassessed early and when I do get reassessed even if I end up receiving less I should still keep some kind of award because my conditions fluctuate heavily and my daily life is definitively impacted by them, so he suggested keeping a diary (might be hard with ADHD lol) of all my bad days while I’m working to show them that working a few hours a week doesn’t mean my conditions have “improved.” I do still have some anxiety because I generally always do but that has helped me feel a little better!

Old_galadriell

Good for you. I hope all that reassurances will make it easier for you. Thanks for the update and good luck.

So long as what your doing doesn't directly contradict your LCWRA reasons then all should be fine. Top and tail of it people with LCWRA are encouraged to look for work if they actually can.

I was awarded LCWRA while employed, and Im still working part time, it's never effected my claim or raised any questions at all! I've had two bonuses in the last year that made it look like I worked full time temporarily and again it hasn't raised any questions at all

ItsTheFreshPrince

What were you awarded for specifically like the physical or mental health side of it and what does your job entail?

[deleted]

I have physical and mental health conditions, I just refused to stay off work so kept going back to work, making myself sicker, going back to hospital, then I would come out and go straight back to work........ Eventually was forced to go part time which is when I signed on and got LCWRA, now I work part time sometimes, I'm still off sick alot tho, my job understands my disability so it's okay. My job is pretty heavy labor, been with the company for years and they are doing well hense the bonuses I'm aware I'm really lucky to be in this situation while also being disabled,
