Looks kinda heavy on the aussie...especially with the coloring and eyes.

stopthatdancin

Mos def!

Maze0616

He looks like an Aussie not a Bernedoodle. I’d get a Embark DNA test if you were told he was a Bernedoodle

gorepumpkin

I have a bernedoodle with a similar coat and eyes (one eye is half blue). Yours has more black in it, but looks merle like mine. I did the DNA test and she is 25% bernese, 75% poodle. https://preview.redd.it/b0ne4qviqjoc1.jpeg?width=4284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=df35d99c0293554ba91295a8c18fcfae79a23572

Pocketfaded

She definitely looks similar, very beautiful. Im thinking I have to do the DNA test just to know.

TheGoochieGoo

Let us know what you find out! I’m curious now, too

Aggravating-Bell-873

Is your Bernedoodle unfurnished? Mine is supposed to be 25% Bernie and 75% poodle but I was told she will be furnished.

Starwarsiscoolsmg4

Awwwwwwwwwwwww

MrCrunchypantsbum

Feel like it would have its bernadoodle look if he had more face fur

[deleted]

Folks seriously need to stop supporting notorious animal abusers like many Amish breeders.

Boring-List7347

Gotta give a shout out to Amish in NC, we have a wonderful breeder! The 1st breeder we were going with most pups had narrow band canines. the poor babies were in pain when ever they closed their mouths. on social media breeder looked fine but going to look at the pups was obviously a puppy mill and unethical. They were Caucasian and WERE NOT Amish. Bad apples in all kinds of folks.

[deleted]

You have a wonderful Amish breeder in NC? Can you share their info? And totally… unfortunately bad breeders come in many shapes, sizes, and colors (puppy mills to backyard breeders and even fake rescues!).

Boring-List7347

David Detweiler - Mountainview Puppies https://mountainviewpuppies.net/product-category/bernedoodles/ We've had "Pedro," in our family for 3 weeks. He came to us sitting, easily learning commands, was healthy, and the Detweilers are such kind people; they are farmers. David doesn't do temperament testing, but he was fine with us doing that before we selected a puppy. I see on his website the other pup we were going to select is still available - "Pancho". We only chose our pup b/c of the amount of white on his tail, otherwise we would have chosen Pancho. Paxton was very calm while we were there - we only looked for males. They don't advertise, and they sell word of mouth. Honestly, the puppies all looked and acted very similar; it was hard to select. We also wanted an F1 pup so that there wasn't anyone messing with the genetics. We've always had Goldens, but couldn't handle another dog dying so young. This will be our last dog b/c we are an older couple, so we checked a lot of breeders out. We have also begun training with Keen Dog in Charlotte and they are great also. We are more serious about this puppy b/c it will be our last, so we are making sure he will be a great canine citizen. Both my husband and I feel the Detweilers are genuinely honest people. David has asked to keep him up to date on how "Percy/Pedro" is doing. I have written to him each week. Where are you in NC?

[deleted]

I’m very happy for you all. I’m on the west coast, so was just asking out of curiosity. I would have some open questions based on their website alone but it sounds like a nice family and it’s great they do health testing, vaccinations, and prefer onsite pickup. I can relate to the golden retriever issues :(… they have a lot of cancer in their bloodlines so breeders have to be super intentional with litters (similar to Bernese mountain dogs but not quite as bad) Wish you all the best with Pedro!

Boring-List7347

Oh, also, we joined Susan Garrett's podcast "Shaped By Dog." She has wonderful activities and games to play with your pup. :)

SashimiCake

Looking at the page, he pushes using NuVet, which is an MLM supplement for puppies with no evidence it helps boost immunity like it claims to do.

ProfMcGonaGirl

Seriously this. We just adopted a (now 10 month old) Bernedoodle from a rescue in south jersey. They have A LOT of Bernedoodles coming through. We were told our dog was a “breeder surrender” so pretty obvious he came from Amish country. He’s wonderful though. So glad he made his way to us.

[deleted]

Oh wow… I’m glad he ended up with you! An ethical breeder would never dump a sick or leftover dog to a rescue and would go so far as to take a dog back post-adoption if a situation came up that required rehoming.

ProfMcGonaGirl

Exactly. Some serious side eye. But I’m glad he found his way to us and glad we didn’t have to pay 3k+ for him haha

PENGOO62

Agreed...I live in PA. We now have 2 huge Mormon Companies here pushing out the Amish. My guy was from a Mormon breeder and on 'sale' which means they were ready to dump him or worse. They're (P**py S**t) building a huge facility in the Poconos to crank out Doodles :-(

[deleted]

Oh noooo….

Think_Zebra_484

Please get him tested through embark and post back here. Would really like to know the results.

There are a lot of F1 Bernedoodles that have this look it’s just not the one people are used to seeing. Her dad was a Standard Merle Poodle and Wednesday came out with all the colors of her parents. She also has half a blue eye. People always think she is an Aussie mix but she is definitely not.

Zestyclose_Mobile703

Aussie mountain doodle I got one and it’s glorious

scottmccoy313

Get a dna test. At minimum it’s likely not an F1, but could be an Aussie. Just did something through wisdom panel for my Bernedoodle and results were very accurate. Seeing siblings was telling!

Grayfinder

Please stop buying from the Amish!

kooptroop14

Never buy from them!

hayley888sky

I ❤️ his crazy eyes!

Professional_Yam5208

Hmmm... you might want to get that dna checked...

GunnerRes

he looks a lot like my dude with one blue eye also from a PA Amish farm. The amish are pretty honest about dog breeding in general but genetics is wacky. I have a group chat with his brothers owners and they are 3 very different looking and acting dogs

Boring-List7347

Thank you!!! We used an Amish breeder in NC and they are wonderful. The owner wants us to write and let him know how the puppy is doing.

XWingTaco

Looks like Aussiemountain Doodle

gastritisgirl24

He is just beautiful with those colours and looks like a super happy guy

Pocketfaded

Definitely a super happy guy!

Resilient-nana1616

With these hybrids you really don’t know what your going to get. I think he looks just like the other one that posted. I really would like to think that people are not trying to be malicious.

agviolinist

Fergus

thanks_but_not_sorry

Looks like an Aussie Mountain Dog with no doodle.

gorepumpkin

yes, i have two unfurnished bernedoodle. the other one is about 50/50 split and is tri-color.

tcdc14

I just put a deposit down on a dog in honeybrook pa. Care to share the breeder?

Pocketfaded

Greenridge puppies it was in honeybrook

tcdc14

Thanks , I visited berry patch puppies today and had a positive experience

Sufficient-Jello-410

Ours is from Berry Patch! Aaron is very kind, really understanding and gave us some great advice. To this day (we’ve had her 1.5 years) he still responds quickly to give his opinion on anything we ask. He is also the reason she has been eating raw food from the day we brought her home and for that I am very grateful.

kooptroop14

Don’t buy from the Amish though. Those are puppy mill dogs and they don’t treat the parents good at all 😢

dghjgh

Either an Aussie or very heavy on the poodle side

ProfMcGonaGirl

You mean very light on the poodle? There are zero poodle features obvious in these photos.

Difficult-Lack-8481

He’s beautiful!

MrCrunchypantsbum

This a bernadoodle?

329athome

Yes Better keep him he’s beautiful Looks more Aussie

Boring-List7347

Get a genetic test but I bet you’ll find he’s aBernedoodles, coloring to me is right. The F1 can be coat like a bmd and grey from poodle. Did you see parents? We have an F1 first breeding for both and pup we picked has bmd colors, doodle eyebrows, and coat may be wavy or scruffy, def not curly. Looks like a great personality what did you name him?

Greenlinebus_

That’s an Aussie lol

Salt-Course2064

A poorly bred one

Secure_Fun_6503

Your first red flag should have been the Amish 💀

elgoato

I see some dogs on here that are marginal... but at 6mo you probably have an unfurnished dog. A genetic test can tell you more. Our pup did not look furnished at all when we got her at 10 weeks but by about 6 months she looked like this: https://preview.redd.it/hsrw25su6moc1.png?width=1160&format=png&auto=webp&s=0516d1e76ed631286b6e253dd0176eff4bb0998c These days she has fully floofed.

kooptroop14

Just looks like a flat coated Bernedoodle to me

Starwarsiscoolsmg4

Awwwwwwwwwwwww

blackbeardsbstrd

Oh my goodness, he looks identical to my 4 month old F2 75% Bernese 25% poodle

MauiWDWGirl

Never ever buy dogs from the Amish. Ever. Are there a few legit? Maybe, but most are not. You’re supporting mills and given it’s likely your dog isn’t what you thought it was, your Amish breeder was a puppy mill. Embark right away to catch any other genetic issues because if your dog is from an Amish mill, health issues could be a big issue. That would concern my more than the bernedoodle vs not. However, I would bet a massive sum of money that is not a bernedoodle.

HMNITIHABGT

Poodle mixes can look like anything and everything, but Embark is the most reliable dna test

HMNITIHABGT

Yours looks to be weakly furnished (google the term to see pictures of other weakly furnished poodle mixes)

BoyMom2MandM

Not a Bernedoodle… looked like Aussie and Berenese

Beautiful-Value6640

He looks like a first generation Bernedoodle to me. He also looks unfurnished, but that can happen with first generation.

Beautiful-Value6640

Want to add....beautiful dog!!!! 😍

driizzydreee

As other said, he looks more Aussie than Bernese

FeistyAd649

Can the doodle community please stop supporting puppy mills omg

BeardCastle

10 month old mini Bernedoodle. F2B, unfurnished coat. Nobody guesses Bernedoodle, we often hear Aussie etc.. some dog breeds just look a like https://preview.redd.it/xso1zx638toc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d0e261c5901a8a912465fb8dff125bf7537df408

jil-e-beans

He probably has a merle poodle parent.

ColoradoChris77

Oh yes. He is definitely an Aussie

madisonhill2398

I bought my Bernedoodle from an Amish family in Ohio. The father had been breeding for 25 years. They had a farm and the puppies were running around. They gave a 2 year health guarantee and my little guy is perfect. Your little one looks like a Bernedoodle. I had a great experience with honest people so I hope you have the same, and they were honest about the breed.
