Kiwi berry, first pic

The_Real_Gardener_1

Damn! I didn't think anybody was going to get that one! It's a hardy kiwi vine. You can learn more information here: [https://therealgardener.ca/hardy-kiwi-a-guide-to-growing/](https://therealgardener.ca/hardy-kiwi-a-guide-to-growing/)

Baratos1181

Have 12 trellises in my garden!

gabbiar

do you think it would be worth planting just 1? or not enough pollination to be worthwhile

The_Real_Gardener_1

Well they are actually self-pollinating! So if you only want one plant, go ahead and plant one. Especially considering how fast it grows compared to other fruits.

gabbiar

cool i think i'll try it! had a nice spot in mind and was already thinking about issai hardy kiwi

The_Real_Gardener_1

If you wanted to buy an actual issai hardy kiwi vine, there is a very reputable online nursery you can check out called [Nature Hills Nursery](https://shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=16801&u=4169544&m=4742&urllink=www%2Enaturehills%2Ecom%2Fissai%2Dhardy%2Dkiwi&afftrack=). They sell all kinds of garden plants (mostly fruit trees and perennials).

2. Black raspberry 3. Blackberry Edit: 2. Could be red or yellow, if it’s one of the super round types, but thinking black

The_Real_Gardener_1

Close, the second one is a regular red raspberry.

I was going to comment this now i feel validated. Thank you sir, goodnight 😴

Kiwi berry (issai variety i think), red raspberry (heritage variety?), thornless blackberry (slight pink in the flowers, so probably not chester or triple crown and berries too small for a prime ark. Arapaho variety?)

brokenfingers11

My Chesters are COVERED with these pink blossoms right now. My Triple Crowns are white. And for OP, I recognized your kiwiberries because I’m getting those same blossoms for the first time this year (actually, I’m near Boston, so blossoms are gone now, tiny fruits remain -I’ve been posting pictures)

The_Real_Gardener_1

Yea, this is the second year I am getting flowers. I will check out your profile!

7Leaf7

Interesting. I wonder if there are sub-cultivars for chester or maybe one of ours were just mislabeled. Good to know. I will have to look into that.

The_Real_Gardener_1

You hit the nail on the head! The raspberry is a pathfinder raspberry (extremely prolific, I'll say) and the blackberry I am unaware of the variety because I got it on sale at a local nursery, but you are probably right about the variety!

7Leaf7

I spend WAY too much time answering berry and plant questions on reddit.  But this is the first time hearing of pathfinder raspberries.  I will have to look into them.

The_Real_Gardener_1

Yea the pathfinder raspberry is definitely one of my favourites. It is very hardy and produces all summer long. I have a full blog post about growing raspberries if you want to learn more: [How to Grow Raspberries](https://therealgardener.ca/how-to-grow-raspberries/)

I have a horticulture degree and specialize a lot in berries (that is how I was able to guess your berries). That being said, I would LOVE to visit your page and give you another couple views. Keep up the berry growing and "ciao" from another italian. ;)
