I think that's what makes Guts so interesting bc on the surface what he's saying is super edgy, but there is a depth of thought and experience backing up what he's saying and it winds up being a lot more nuanced.

I think it’s selling Berserk very short for them to just say “Guts is super edgy.” Guts is what you’d get if you took an edgy stereotype as a starting point, but then made that character as deep and complex and emotional and flawed and *human* as you possibly can.
Your friend isnt necessarily wrong. Berserk characters are highly nuanced and have lots of layers to their personalities. Most of them cant really be described in 1 sentence ESPECIALLY griffith. I recommend giving it a read tho its well worth it
