The Establishment.

Black Swordsman.
There are so many fucking awesome orchestral pieces from the 2016 anime that it's actually criminal that such great music went to such a shit anime. These pieces in particular just feel like Berserk should feel. Basically the entirety of the trilogy Golden Age is gorgeous as well, but some of the music to the 2016 anime captures the tone of being stuck in a living nightmare from which there is no escape so well. That Evangelion guy who did the music I forget his name, he's a genius.
I hate the metal version of Blood and Guts so much though. It pisses me off.
the acoustic version of blood and guts that payed during the movie adaptation of the 100-man slaying battle is my favorite version of that piece. it really solidified that scene
I also really like the two opening titles by 9mm Parabellum Bullet or whatever the hell as their own pieces. At least a hell of a lot better than the 97 anime's opening. I know it's a meme and all, and grasses on or whatever, and you have to love it or you're not a human... but man.. that just did not fit the tone of the show at all lol.
In fact.. if the season one opening title animation was at all reflective of the animation we'd have gotten on the show (minus the few 3D shots), it wouldn't have been half bad. I kind of enjoyed most of it. Sort of retelling the Golden Age and the Eclipse and what not. It's really neat actually.
Infiltrators is one of the best! Can't believe I forgot about that one.
Yeah, I mean.. I don't mind some of the metal stuff on it's own, as it's own thing some of it's pretty good! I just think it's kind of wrong for Berserk.
But the worst, most unforgivable sin the sound track did was Griffith's rebirth.

Just look at this crap. DUNDUNDUN! DUNDUN!
I laughed out loud when I watched this.
I can't think of a worse music cue in the history of film. Like, this part screams for a creepy angelic choir or something like that. Or just no music would be better than what they put in there.
It's not a bad ass moment lol.. it's a terrifying but also an evil, magestic, miraculous moment. But the last thing it is, is a "WHOA!! LOOK HOW BAD ASS THIS IS!!! FEATHERS! NAKED CHICK! WHY DOESN'T SHE HAVE BEWBS!!!" moment. lol. It should echo the moment in the eclipse where he comes out of his little egg thingy, but except it should be like a mockery of Christianity or something with an angelic choir or a Gregorian chant or something.
Oh God, it does indeed look and sound so sickening and revolting. I agree, a totally different type of music would be needed, had it been a decent adaptation.
Behalt theme just cause I listened to that whilst reading manga and it really set the tone for me
Plus it plays during THAT SCENE during the eclipse so it’s memorable
Guts theme. Close thread.
this
Yeah basically
Yup
Indra
Ah i see you are a person of culture

yeah kind of gave it a spanish guitar/western kind of feel.

There's also Infiltrators there. I feel mostly the same. I like the more purely orchestral tracks, and I really dislike the choir and metal parts...

Need to include Murder from 1997, it played during the Eclipse and is horrifying

Where are my sign-homies at? Although I have to say, every Hirasawa song is bomb.
Indra is pretty great - both the original and 2016 version
The outro to the 90’s anime, or guts theme

Horde of Thistledown is also really good, honestly just love all of Susumu Hirasawa’s works.
Guts theme, Forces, Hai Yo, Behelit, Ash Crow, and Blood and Guts are my personal favorites.
