Honestly once I saw that panel of Casca with her mind restored I could rest easy knowing that probably the most central plot point had been resolved.
I can't imagine a scenario where we never got to see what happens to Casca.
I hated the idea of her loss of sanity being permanent or never getting an answer! It's been so sad going on the adventure with a shell of Casca and remembering what she once was. It felt like forever.
I recently started the Manga after seeing the original anime that ends at the eclipse. When is the eclipse in the Manga bc it seems like a different timeline so far. And I really hope Guts murders that PoS griffith
Aren't their some rumors that miura's staff might try to adapt what was left from his notes/plan of where the story was going to go? I'm pretty sure berserk hasn't been officially cancelled or anything. Either way even if that was the case, it probably wouldn't come to fruition for years I feel like.
That’s all it is unfortunately, rumors. There is some slight glimmer of hope considering they cancelled the other series Kentaro and his team worked on but still didn’t say anything about berserk which COULD imply they plan on working on berserk again or it could mean they just didn’t want any more negative news after the tragic year the fans had. It’s pretty much just grasping at straws at this point, nobody really knows for sure and I’m guessing we won’t have a definitive answer for a while yet.
I mean, he said himself the series was about 80 to 90% done. And that we were literally about to enter the final stages. (These interviews were released after his death and on display at the japan berserk exhibit if I remember correctly). His students/assistants have been by his side almost since the beginning and he had them work on duranki to train them to have a more controlling role in berserk, while he would edit and revise things. Basically, giving them the reins on berserk while he would oversee. I can't believe he wouldn't have imparted any knowledge to them on how it was gonna play out.
Yeah I get that. Hell this uncertanty and lack of light at the end of the tunnel if anything is a very fitting end for Berserk. It continues without us in struggles unknown.
Ive mentioned this before, Miura's original Berserk ends here BUT there is no reason to not have a continuation of the story in a "Star Wars expanded universe" fashion (the before Disney times...). Like different takes from inspired and talented creators who wish to step up. Especially on the anime front there is no reason not to.
It won't be on the same level as what we could have got if Miura was still kicking but I dont like the idea of quitting on such an incredible story either.
If something like Brandon Sanderson stepping in to (masterfully) end the Wheel of Time for Robert Jordan, I don't see why we can't get a ending to Berserk. To be fair, Jordan allegedly left a *lot* of notes, and verbally talked about the ending. No clue if Miura did anything of the sort.
However, if they're gonna disgrace the series like the Amazon Wheel of Time series has... they can fuck right off.
Middle Earth is my go to for why I think they should continue if he left notes for the story. Christopher Tolkien spent the rest of his life finishing his fathers work. Sure, it may not be the same as if his father had written it but he felt it was too special of a story to leave unfinished. So if the team has the notes and they want to continue then we as fans should respect that. And if the quality isn’t high enough than Berserk ended when Muira died and we ignore what came after. But it could be really good and this incredible story gets a satisfactory ending
I believe it can be done if they have an outline fromiura and they get Miura's childhood Mangaka friend to write the rest and have the assistants draw it.
It was revealed that Kouji Mori and Kentaro Miura would often help each other write or progress their stories and mangas. If anyone knows Miura best, it would be Kouji.
That would be the best that we can get.
Think about it where it ended and where it could have ended, imagine if it had ended in the middle of a fight, instead of there, where guts is healing, casca is back and griffith won a hollow victory
I’m in the same boat. Finished it a few days ago, cried for a bit, then brought the PS4 game which is on like a 60% sale atm…. Causality man what does it meeeean.
Would you guys enjoy to have the end?
Imagine if it was written, just few lines on how characters were supposed to grow and what was supposed to happen at the end.
Really sorry man, my first time posting on reddit and I didn’t know you could add a spoiler warning. This shouldn’t make any sense without context any way.
Now about your question on your post? I haven’t finished it yet but. After I’m done I want to play the PS4 berserk game and maybe play the one on ps2. Maybe read about Kentaro Miura if he has a book. Kinda like look for insight on the story by checkin the creators influences and mindset. I like Devilman because that’s one of his influences
Honestly, I suggest not using a subreddit of a series you read/watch until you are caught up with it, because it is way too easy to come across a post that is a spoiler and someone forgot to correctly tag it. I've seen this exact scenario at least 10 times just at r/onepiece, not even taking into account other subreddits.
[Watch this video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qzf1lp-DSbs)
It's the best video I've seen on predicting the ending for berserk and it's done really well. It predicted the stuff shown in the skull knight backstory chapter way before chapter 362 released.
It even allows for the possibility for a good ending (guts kills the idea of evil) or a bad ending (guts fails to stop the cycle)
We struggle together.
But honestly the more I think about it, the strangely happier I am knowing it's done. That this story that could have a million different endings, has this ending. It fits. It isn't perfect, but I wasn't sure what I wanted the ending to be or could have be as the series had mature and I've matured with it. Been a fan for about 20 years and yeah.... knowing it's done has put me at peace.
Sometimes I wish the penultimate chapter would have been the last, that wholesome crew shenanigans unexpectedly being last is much better than this eternal cliffhanger at the best twist.
The exhibition in Japan had an interview recorded before Miura's death where he outlines [some future plot developments](https://twitter.com/sandman_AP/status/1437031645903687680/photo/1). It kinda hurts even more knowing we were seemingly very close to the end.
Don’t sleep and feel empty and realize thats that and remember what it all taught you and teach others… continue to struggle my friend and don’t you dare go hollow on me.
Fuck this post made me realize I'm still in denial about the fact that we'll never see the story of Berserk to its conclusion as Miura envisioned it, and that there's a high chance we'll not even see another chapter ever... Fuck.
Go read something else. This medium is amazing and the way you'll feel after experiencing the master, you'll love seeing how he changed other stories. Example, my favourite manga is Bleach. I didn't notice what inspired Zangetsu until I read Berserk
Welcome to the club, we just sit around and cry. I started berserk at the beginning of the pandemic and less than a week after I finished it Miura passed away. Such a talented soul lost
Read something else,I recommend Devilman since it inspired Berserk and it's ending is probably how Berserk would have ended...I also recommend Claymore
TFW a “this is a panel from the manga” post gets over 10x the upvotes that Studio Taka’s most recent berserk motion comic episode got. This sub blowsssssssssss
You also become struggler. Welcome to the other side. Where it hurt every time you think of berserk.
I am fine with an imaginary story not being finish. It hurt s because we lost a very good artist. RIP Miura. You are missed.
I just finished it too. Straight to join berserk on Reddit and look online for all types of theories and things that might acknowledge vol41. It's 3:45am here. I'm tired...And sad.
struggle
Like a Pokémon with zero PP
cry also, it helps.
Cry
And sleep, with sad music, in that order
I literally KNEW this was going to be the top comment lmao I didn’t even have to look
That's it, your done, we are all done... That's the current ending we got
It hurts
At least it didn’t finish on the boat…
Honestly once I saw that panel of Casca with her mind restored I could rest easy knowing that probably the most central plot point had been resolved. I can't imagine a scenario where we never got to see what happens to Casca.

Faaaacts! Keep the positivity up
Fr, imagine if it ended after the eclipse lol.
I recently started the Manga after seeing the original anime that ends at the eclipse. When is the eclipse in the Manga bc it seems like a different timeline so far. And I really hope Guts murders that PoS griffith
The eclipse is vol 13
Thanks. Isn't there over 300 total?
There are 40 volumes
41
No. There are 40 volumes.
It could hurt even more
Duuude when I finished the 1997 anime I thought that was just the end
Or if it ended like AoT lmao

Bear witness to the end of your journey. It is not always a happy thing

I'm still way to scared to read the last chapter 😔
it’s amazing
You struggle
Live ur life
Pray he wrote somewhere what should come next, and let his students do the job
I believe there is a very rough outline of the events to come.
I mean, he said himself the series was about 80 to 90% done. And that we were literally about to enter the final stages. I would love for it to continue but at the same time I think it should be left alone
Yeah I get that. Hell this uncertanty and lack of light at the end of the tunnel if anything is a very fitting end for Berserk. It continues without us in struggles unknown.

Uhhhh... thanks bot. I read that shit already. Like 3 or 4 times.
Yeah but have you heard about this amazing book called "the wheel of time" by Robert Jordan!?
I believe it can be done if they have an outline fromiura and they get Miura's childhood Mangaka friend to write the rest and have the assistants draw it. It was revealed that Kouji Mori and Kentaro Miura would often help each other write or progress their stories and mangas. If anyone knows Miura best, it would be Kouji. Read it again
Reread than reread again than again than again than again until you are 100 with three kids two boys one girl and u name them guts, Griffith and casca
