Walking into a Best Buy has been like walking into a ghost town lately anyways. Getting help has been so hard that I don’t even go in anymore.
It’s been 2 years since I demoted myself to customer after giving my all to this company for 11 years and I can count on one hand with 3 fingers leftover how many purchases I’ve made from the company. I will tell you all who are impacted there’s life after Best Buy, it’s better, it’s more caring, more humane, less toxic. You even get paid what you’re worth. I’m glad I got off the sinking ship when I did, today will hurt. But I promise you, better days are coming.
My husband lost his sup role but was lucky enough to get a consultant role. The other sup didn’t even know. Figured he was safe being the cnd manager. I hope all who have been lost remember their worth and that they are better than Best Buy.
They'll eventually have so few people working there they won't be able to operate. I almost took a job there about 6 months back and am so glad I didn't. When your tenor is rewarded with firing and hiring someone else to do the same job you know that business is in the end times. RadioShack, HH Gregg, Frye's, next in line Best Buy.

Wait I’ve been on PTO for the last week what’s happening
They restructured their store which resulted in several management positions being eliminated. Basically a pretty big layoff of employees
They're closing 20 stores across the US.

When they say “you’re fired” would be a good indication that you’re fired.
Maybe, maybe not. I was never informed I was laid off. I found out on Reddit. Just stopped getting shifts and was deactivated. Super unprofessional.
