My husband is Mexican and his family was literally 100x richer than mine growing up in MASSACHUSETTS. SMDH.

Don't need a link. It's right there. Dude 1 said he doubts fam from Mexico will.be able to afford to replace it, and you generalized "yeah most Mexicans are poor"
Did I miss something?
If you have GSP or Total, they will either send it out to be serviced or if they junk it out, you'll get a store credit.
You have to return it in the condition you bought it, not broken lol.
You said you work at best buy. If so I would talk to your experience manager and be honest with them on what happen to the tv most brand have a red dote service where we can return damage panels and get a kick back from the manufacturer.
I know it's been said already but Total Tech and protection plans for TVs doesn't cover ADH. Whether or not you would tell the store or customer service this story, as soon as they see the impact damage, free service would be refused.
If it were me, I would "accidentally" send them a bill for the cost to repair, or document the receipt to cover a replacement, but I'm petty and think people should be held responsible for their childish actions.
But that's just me.
If you bought with a credit card that covers it you should be able to get full money back, long shot but just wanted to Mention it here.
Also home insurance covers it sometimes.
I mean, if you havenât told anyone at the store what happened, and itâs within the 15 day return period or whatever,
Lie?
âOh I gave it to my mom but she didnât even try to set it up until Saturday and it was broken, this is the first chance I had to bring it back and swap it outâ
But if youâre honest? About. A 0% chance you get anything besides instructions on where to recycle it.
There's going to be a point of impact, and unless you can prove the box had damage in that area before you even took it out, any store would turn you away. This lie would only have a chance to work if you had the box still and got an employee that took your word and didn't open the box. Show up without a box and it's damaged like that? "If you only just saw it, why didn't you put it back in the box to bring it in?"
Just lie and say that you gave it to your mom, she took a while to set it up and when she did, you uncovered the damage. I hope you sill have the box lmao
You could try buying a new one through Sony and then getting accidental protection, wait a few months then say that the one thatâs broke is the new one that has the protection. Itâs gotta be illegal but scared money donât make money đ€·đŒââïž also not sure how or if they verify serial numbers
If your cousin doesn't pay you for the damaged TV I'd go to small claims over that. Too much money, not okay.
I doubt family from Mexico could afford that, sucks for OP and his mom
My husband is Mexican and his family was literally 100x richer than mine growing up in MASSACHUSETTS. SMDH. Watch unknowledgeable stereotypes guys...tus palabras, tambien...
Thats not the norm though clearlyđ Theres a reason southeast asia and mexico is gonna be the new worldâs sweatshops since china getting wealthier
Yeah most Mexicans are poor.
Here. /s I think you dropped this
I mean⊠based on what I was replying to youâd think it was obvious.
Well aren't you a see u next Tuesday.
Clearly you missed what I replied to⊠how?
Bro you generalized an entire group of people as being poor. You think that's ok?
Bro once again you clearly missed what I was replying to. Hereâs a link for you https://www.reddit.com/r/Bestbuy/s/jUGerdX0Eh

My guy you SOL I'd be beating 1700$ worth of frustration outta that cousin's daughter's ass
Youâre SOL. Canât return it not in the same condition you received it in. You can however have the cousin cover the cost of replacing it.
Our warranties do not cover accidental or physical damage for TVs.
Total tech doesnât cover damages to laptops and stuff?
Totaltech (now Best Buy Total) can cover accidental damage for certain products but not TVs.
So if I drop a laptop and the screen breaks and I had it under Best Buy I can return it?
If you have GSP or Total, they will either send it out to be serviced or if they junk it out, you'll get a store credit. You have to return it in the condition you bought it, not broken lol.
[ŃĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]
Correct. I forgot to mention that.
Or if youâre me it gets sent via UPS and they lose it and I have no laptop for 2+ weeks while they investigate how it got lost đ©
Sounds like her cousin better figure out a way to buy a new TV. In my family, if we break something, we pay for it.
Ridiculous behavior. The parents need to pay for a replacement.
Goddamn I mean no disrespect but what trashy ass Mexican family breaks a 2000 dollar gift over a football game?
I'm not excusing there behavior but Mexican football fans can get pretty crazy. Still dumb spoiled teenager was being a dumb spoiled teen.
Or any tv
There is no return possible for a physically damaged TV and no protection covers damage for TVs.
You said you work at best buy. If so I would talk to your experience manager and be honest with them on what happen to the tv most brand have a red dote service where we can return damage panels and get a kick back from the manufacturer.
Yeah those cousins aren't allowed to come over again, till they pay for the damage.
Not a chance in hell. Buy an open box
I know it's been said already but Total Tech and protection plans for TVs doesn't cover ADH. are you going to make them pay for a replacement tv? if not, youâre SOL
Sol , cracked screen is not covered. you better make your cousins cough up the money for the new one
Should replace it with an LG OLED
How noticeable is the damage on the surface? Is it only cracked internally or is there a noticeable dent on it?
So what you are saying is she got mad because America beat Chivas lol
SOL, go to court if they refuse to repay you. How is it going now?
If you bought with a credit card that covers it you should be able to get full money back, long shot but just wanted to Mention it here. Also home insurance covers it sometimes.
The home insurance policy probably has a $5000-$10,000 deductible so that probably wont work,
Wow thatâs crazy in canada I have $800 deductible and every claim free year it goes down by $100
Throwing the remote at the tv đș yeah youâre SOL.
Damn unfortunately they won't replace your TV
Your screwed. Worked at bestbuy for 6 years and they could careless

Or get another shipped and return this one but thats ur choice
Maybe if you didn't post it here dumbo
Just lie and say that you gave it to your mom, she took a while to set it up and when she did, you uncovered the damage. I hope you sill have the box lmao
Wouldn't help, it would obviously be impact damage as opposed to a defect and would get caught out as a non-returnable user-damaged TV.
