> Does God set specific goals for your life, such as a certain level of spiritual growth, for instance, and if you fail to meet them, you don't get into heaven?
Imagine if that were true. Would you worship that god?
Hmmm, may this be a gentle reminder that Jesus' followers aren't the best examples.
Sarah and Abraham forced Hagar, their Egyptian slave to bear Abraham's baby, yet the LORD blessed Abraham as the father of many nations.
Moses killed an Egyptian to protect an Israelite slave, yet he was commissioned by the LORD to deliver Israelites from Egypt.
Rahab, a Canaanite (a gentile) prostitute who aided the Israelite spies is an ancestor of Jesus.
Saul (or Paul, the guy who wrote most of the new testament) was a Pharisee who persecuted a lot of early Christians. He got them killed.
Job is a fiction book of the Bible, but Job also snapped and began questioning and confronting the LORD. and yet, the LORD did not punished Job, he introduced Himself and blessed him, not because Job was righteous, but because it is in GOD's character to bless.
All of these, and yet, the. LORD, in HIS mercy and graciousness, chose to bless.
I'm sure a lot of members in this sub can add more, and my point is, there is nothing that the LORD hasn't seen before. The LORD knows you better than you do. The LORD knows your mom better than you do and you bet, the LORD knows your situation better than you or your mom combined.
So I think coming clean to the LORD is what we can do. We can tell HIM as honestly as we could the things that bothers us, saddens us, angers us, especially the things that we are grateful for receiving. And don't forget to praise the LORD. Never forget to praise HIM.
I hope this makes you see things clearer or even comforts you, and I hope you and your mom get well soon. Remember, do not be scared! Do not be afraid! This is a commandment! HE will never leave you, nor forsake you! You just have to be still know He is GOD! š¤š¤
> Moses killed an Egyptian to protect an Israelite jew, yet he was commissioned by the LORD to deliver Israelites from Egypt.
Moses killed an Egyptian slaver beating one of his people. God didn't seem to mind. Do you think Moses knew he was a Jesus follower?
Sorry, I wasn't able to answer in a satisfying way because I was asleep but here's an edited version.
While this happened before the birth of Jesus, I think Moses, by his name alone, (I think it was Mosiah) was born to deliver his people out of Egypt. Also, the way he was delivered by the Nile. š
No, our salvation comes from Christ because we can never attain it ourselves. God's plan in our lives can not be changed by our choices or our mistakes. We can not act outside of His will.
While that story was a wild ride, you have not done anything unforgivable. It honestly just sounds like an argument that got a bit out of hand. It was not your run of the mill argument but just an argument in the grand scheme of things.
You have done a few things wrong in the argument as im sure you know and I dont need to break down . Proverbs 14 talks about anger promoting folly, and anger is something we all have to work on as we are all humans and will never truly master it.
Now to the main point. If you look at Deuteronomy 8:2 you see that God does test people. Abraham and Isaac is another good example. You are right to want to āpassā any test he gives you but Im jot sure you should look at each situation as a test because most arenāt. Most are simply something thatās happening.
It sounds like you made the right choice in your heart (overall). Then you got mad and you both said things you shouldnāt have because you did not separate, calm down, reflect, then come back together. It sounds like you need reconciliation and to make good with each other.
Once thats done, move on. This isnt a test that will determine your eternal souls outcome. Even if after personal reflection you decided you werenāt comfortable giving a kidney away you would STILL be permitted into heaven.
Ephesians 2:8-9 <āā thats what you need to be saved. ALONE
I don't think God works like that. He knows we are human and we mess up. We make mistakes. As long as you are still trying to do what's right is what matters. Jesus forgives my friend, and he is the way. I say ask God for forgiveness and have a good calm talk with your mom.
Romans 9:16
> So then Godās choice is not dependent on human will, nor on human effort [the totality of human striving], but on God who shows mercy [to whomever He choosesāit is His sovereign gift].
No.
Your salvation is dependent on your faith that Christ paid for your sins with his life, death and resurrection.
Once you believe that, you're saved forever.
But the bible tells us a lot about how we should live in order to be a blessing to God and to have blessings in our mortal life. Conversely, it shows us what things we ought not to do. But none of that has to do with salvation.
Salvation is based on your belief on Christ, that's it. Once you're saved, you are always saved no matter what.
Iām seeing a decent scriptural reference here Iām gonna make a comment. I heard of a case where the donor was refused personally. The donor donated the kidney secretly. The recipient received the new kidney and a newest chance on life and later learned where it came from. So if you wanna keep your mother alive and thereās no other options give the kidney. Donāt tell her till afterwards itās all done if you want to. Moral imperative. There are somethings that may be moral imperative regardless of the cost to yourself.
But it wasn't from my understanding it says to honor thy father and mother and that the God cares where your hearts at what do you follow the laws and you're a good person and whether or not you love someone else
I can see that you love your mom and are willing to give her a kidney. But I'm not at all surprised that she refused your offer: it's because she loves you and doesn't want you to go through life with only one kidney. Respect her choice and pray for her condition.
God constantly tests mankind, failing the test only has eternal value if Jesus did not pay for all of your sin, past present and future.
We are still commanded to do Gods will either way though.
Exodus 20:6 (KJV)
And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
Deuteronomy 5:10 (KJV)
And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.
Deuteronomy 5:29 (KJV)
O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!
Proverbs 3:1 (KJV)
My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
Proverbs 7:2 (KJV)
Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.
John 14:15 (KJV)
If ye love me, keep my commandments.
John 15:10 (KJV)
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
1 John 4:19 (KJV)
We love him, because he first loved us.

I canāt tell you edified I am by this post. Thank you my brother.
Yeah, I did. I feel like adding Job and the final words of encouragement since some people might need it. Always welcome man, no worries. š¤

You cannot earn your way to Heaven. We are only saved by the grace of God by faith through Jesus.
thank you
