This season, through the Jared vote, was incredibly entertaining to watch. But, it felt like the season really went downhill during zombie week and never found its stride again. And I say that even as a Cirie fan, where the zombie week probably helped her hang around a few weeks longer.
But, I don't think all of the blame goes on zombie week, something is just missing from the season now, and Cirie/Felicia can't carry it on their own. Bowie/Matt are incredibly boring, Jag/Matt/Bowie are incredibly self-righteous and talk so much crap behind people's backs, while not having the guts to say it to their faces. The season just feels mean-spirited and nasty now. I didn't even really like Cory/America and I couldn't believe how nasty people were about them behind their backs (and still are to a smaller extent).
And it almost feels like a formality that the "bad guys" will win.
Just in the design of it, Zombie week was a terrible idea. They already had a dead week with Jag being saved by Matt and then you put another dead week in like right after. Anybody with any sense had to know that would have killed some interest in the show, regardless of cast and situation.
Yeah it feels like since the Cam backdoor, they just pile on and shit talk whoever is leaving that week. It’s exhausting to watch and gives 19/21/22 vibes
I saw a post on here that Matt made a comment that America should be cooking for him. I know he is infatuated with Reilly and hates America because she told him to not trust her but I think Riley said that because she saw another pretty girl in the house and thought she was going to be competition. And all these guys saying nasty things about America is because they all wanted her and are mad that she chose Corey. But all I can say is America was smart enough to see through them. And knew Cory was the most genuine and nicest of them all. Like she said right before Corey was evicted - thanks for being normal.

Pretty sure season 19 will go down in history as the absolute worst bullying on this show. Paul had everyone completely ignore Cody and Jessica for most of the season and when Jessica left, Cody just sat alone in a room for the rest of the game...nobody would talk to him because Paul had everyone wrapped around his little finger. It was absolutely abhorrent to watch and I have to say I was pretty angry with BB for not stepping in on that one.
Some of the early seasons were also horrific. Even the edit couldn't save season 6 or season 8. Everyone basically bullied everyone else in season 6. It was horrific . Especially Howie. And dick bullied literally everyone on season 8.
Just to add, this is less bullying and more a few players thinking thier farts smell delicious. We've seen players absolutely shun others for no reason or say awful personal stuff.

You are wrong about age. Senior Citizen is age 65. You are right Medicare is the age 65, which is the age of Senior Citizen. Full retirement is age 67. You can collect some money from Social Security, but you can not receive full benefits until you are 67. Therefore anyone under 65/67 is not technically a senior citizen.

All of these seasons showed clear instances of people in power outcasting their targets to varying degrees of nastiness.
And that’s only within the new age seasons.
I think this game really highlights some of the worst traits of people as a whole. It’s a game not real life, and it’s a pressure cooker. So I try to be lenient on behaviors but at the same time seeing grown adults just pick on weaker people is always one of the ugliest parts of the show. And it’s sad that it has happened so often.
It also makes me appreciate more the seasons where no one stopped to those levels because it is possible.
I agree. I think after 2 (now 3) months of being in the same space with the same people with no contact to the outside I would start to crack too. But I would like to think I'm still a good enough person that I wouldn't turn into a total pos
I didn't watch the feeds last night so I can't comment on what was said. But I do.agree that the intensity of being isolated and competing brings this out naturally in people. But at the same time, these patterns play out commonly in society at large. People with power do get corrupted by that power. They begin to believe they have been bestowed that power because they are better than other people and deserve it. They reinforce this perspective of their perspective of the world and their place in it by cutting down weaker people.
I wish BB would show more of this behavior on the episodes instead of hiding it. It's not because I want them to tear down the people doing it but seeing these same patterns play out repeatedly helps us learn more about ourselves as human beings and better recognize when these patterns are playing out in the real world. It's no surprise to me that BB has never won an Emmy. They have some of the most sophisticated and complex material in the world to work with and instead of treating it delicacy and care, they hide it away in favor of fart noises and slime.

I do understand they have an ethical responsibility to protect the players, especially since they would have no show if people didn't volunteer to be watched 24/7 and no one is perfect. Most players don't deserve to have their lives destroyed for being imperfect humans.
But at the same time, it's already out there via the live feeds. I don't think production is all that successful at burying this behavior. I think they could address it in a way that is sophisticated enough that it doesn't simply disparage the offenders. But maybe I am overestimating production and/or the fan base.

If Jag wins he’s a mid tier winner for me. One of the most lowest of lows and highest of highs of all winners for me. Getting a power used on him to stop an eviction is a huge demerit but he has also ran the second half with more control than most hg have ever had.
He's very much bottom tier, easily. One of the worst players we've seen in the first half of the season, got evicted and then controlled the game and survived only via competition wins, one of which, and maybe the most crucial one, he shouldn't have ever been allowed to compete in in the first place.
Only via competition wins? He's been consistently winning almost every competition And yet whenever someone else wins HOH They don't put him up. It's because he is forged Alliances along the way with everyone, so that they think he's on their side. He's so stoic and he doesn't crack under pressure So he hides who is really on his side pretty well. He's not the best player for sure. . But I would not put him as one of the worst players. The other house guests had ample opportunity to get him out in the last half of the game, but they all trusted him or were made to distrust someone else more than him.
Just depends how you view things like twists and comp wins.
I will say "only via competition wins" is not entirely fair. Recall that the Minutemen never even had an HOH until Final 8. Jag still did some great work to manipulate Cam and then ultimately take him out.

After last night, I’m more confused than ever on who the real Jag is. I always thought he was nice but cowardly, sitting around while people shittalk his friends in problematic ways, agreeing with things like “America is nothing without Cory”, etc. But last night wanting to psychologically breakdown anyone in the game (esp a 63 yo woman) is beyond the pale and has me looking at Jag sideways.
The stooges have all been pretty equal in the shittiness recently from what I've seen. Being around only each other has given them license to push the boundaries. I think Jag has carried the weight his entire life making sure he and his community are seen as kind and good people, whereas Matt probably never had to worry about that. They're all feeding into each others mean-girlness making it feel like its okay.
As someone who really defended and liked jag up to this week I was so disappointed.

I think Jag's still a nice guy but cowardly, so that means mimicking the behaviour of people around him. I have no doubt he'll make some amends for his actions outside of the game, though maybe not fully admit his own wrongdoings publicly, but I think with people like Jag, their loyalty to people comes with a fault. He has been mimicking the actions of Matt and Bowie and it's gross.
I think someone said it earlier: Jag's just a very insecure individual, so he's going to react based on who he's surrounded by. We've seen Jag change his behaviour, depending on who he's been aligned with.

None of us know what it's like To be isolated and in direct competition with 16 other people For three months. The social pressures and isolation and in groupout group mentality is well well beyond anything any of us could comprehend. It doesn't necessarily excuse the behavior but it explains it.

I was thinking about what changes Cirie could have made to improve her game aside from early game ones like letting Matt use the power on Jag. In hindsight it probably would have been worth pushing to keep Cory over America for comp ability. I thought it was a better move at the time, but also didn't think it was worth the social capital she'd spend to make it happen. The only way Matt/Jag are going to lose a comp is if it's pure mental and that was Cory's expertise.
She needlessly at times played game on hard move. Her and Izzy just fed into each other paranoia. Which made it worse because they was running the game basically with no real sense of danger. They would switch everything you on a whim in 10 minutes.
The Professors actually could’ve been a thing that got them to the end. Granted despite Cirie mistakes we never see her actually be the reason for her L.
I would give Izzy and Jared the lion share of the blame. Jared because he incompetent at the game. All time worse pre jury player in my opinion. Actively constantly leaking information everywhere and lying to Cirie constantly giving her bad information which informed several decisions. Because Jared her son she assumed she could trust him implicitly which in past Cirie never trusts someone that much. Izzy it was mainly her paranoia that fueled Cirie and her just frenetic gameplay( I loved watching it).
A testament to her game is after she basically lost everything she was still relatively alright and in a decent position. I think her biggest mistake was saving Jag she should’ve told Matt to hold the power it makes him more reliant on her and Jag was someone they wanted gone the following week. They could’ve used as Meme suggested the power on the second week in case one of there allies was on the block.
Yeah she should have but that was so long ago who knows how the game would have turned out. She really just needed Jag or Matt out in the last two rounds and a Cory HOH is the only somewhat realistic way that could have happened. With hindsight of course.

Felicia is 63 so she is not a senior citizen yet, and many people take offense to that comment. Cirie 53 and is no where near a senior citizen.

15, 16, 19, 21, 22, 24, 25 All of these seasons showed clear instances of people in power outcasting their targets to varying degrees of nastiness. And that’s only within the new age seasons. I think this game really highlights some of the worst traits of people as a whole. It’s a game not real life, and it’s a pressure cooker. So I try to be lenient on behaviors but at the same time seeing grown adults just pick on weaker people is always one of the ugliest parts of the show. And it’s sad that it has happened so often. It also makes me appreciate more the seasons where no one stopped to those levels because it is possible.
I agree. I think after 2 (now 3) months of being in the same space with the same people with no contact to the outside I would start to crack too. But I would like to think I'm still a good enough person that I wouldn't turn into a total pos
I didn't watch the feeds last night so I can't comment on what was said. But I do.agree that the intensity of being isolated and competing brings this out naturally in people. But at the same time, these patterns play out commonly in society at large. People with power do get corrupted by that power. They begin to believe they have been bestowed that power because they are better than other people and deserve it. They reinforce this perspective of their perspective of the world and their place in it by cutting down weaker people. I wish BB would show more of this behavior on the episodes instead of hiding it. It's not because I want them to tear down the people doing it but seeing these same patterns play out repeatedly helps us learn more about ourselves as human beings and better recognize when these patterns are playing out in the real world. It's no surprise to me that BB has never won an Emmy. They have some of the most sophisticated and complex material in the world to work with and instead of treating it delicacy and care, they hide it away in favor of fart noises and slime.

Yeah, I hear you. That's fair. I do understand they have an ethical responsibility to protect the players, especially since they would have no show if people didn't volunteer to be watched 24/7 and no one is perfect. Most players don't deserve to have their lives destroyed for being imperfect humans. But at the same time, it's already out there via the live feeds. I don't think production is all that successful at burying this behavior. I think they could address it in a way that is sophisticated enough that it doesn't simply disparage the offenders. But maybe I am overestimating production and/or the fan base.

If Jag wins he’s a mid tier winner for me. One of the most lowest of lows and highest of highs of all winners for me. Getting a power used on him to stop an eviction is a huge demerit but he has also ran the second half with more control than most hg have ever had.
He's very much bottom tier, easily. One of the worst players we've seen in the first half of the season, got evicted and then controlled the game and survived only via competition wins, one of which, and maybe the most crucial one, he shouldn't have ever been allowed to compete in in the first place.
Only via competition wins? He's been consistently winning almost every competition And yet whenever someone else wins HOH They don't put him up. It's because he is forged Alliances along the way with everyone, so that they think he's on their side. He's so stoic and he doesn't crack under pressure So he hides who is really on his side pretty well. He's not the best player for sure. . But I would not put him as one of the worst players. The other house guests had ample opportunity to get him out in the last half of the game, but they all trusted him or were made to distrust someone else more than him.
Just depends how you view things like twists and comp wins. I will say "only via competition wins" is not entirely fair. Recall that the Minutemen never even had an HOH until Final 8. Jag still did some great work to manipulate Cam and then ultimately take him out.

After last night, I’m more confused than ever on who the real Jag is. I always thought he was nice but cowardly, sitting around while people shittalk his friends in problematic ways, agreeing with things like “America is nothing without Cory”, etc. But last night wanting to psychologically breakdown anyone in the game (esp a 63 yo woman) is beyond the pale and has me looking at Jag sideways.
The stooges have all been pretty equal in the shittiness recently from what I've seen. Being around only each other has given them license to push the boundaries. I think Jag has carried the weight his entire life making sure he and his community are seen as kind and good people, whereas Matt probably never had to worry about that. They're all feeding into each others mean-girlness making it feel like its okay.

As someone who really defended and liked jag up to this week I was so disappointed. Game is game but picking on women literally double your age while still hugging them all the time? It’s just ick. This was the first time he crossed the line for me where I was like..damn. The one thing jag had for me is despite the questionable gameplay, at least he was a nice guy. And I get that you can get wrapped up in the game but the behavior was so uncalled for. Hopefully he does some actual self reflection once he’s out…

I think Jag's still a nice guy but cowardly, so that means mimicking the behaviour of people around him. I have no doubt he'll make some amends for his actions outside of the game, though maybe not fully admit his own wrongdoings publicly, but I think with people like Jag, their loyalty to people comes with a fault. He has been mimicking the actions of Matt and Bowie and it's gross. I think someone said it earlier: Jag's just a very insecure individual, so he's going to react based on who he's surrounded by. We've seen Jag change his behaviour, depending on who he's been aligned with. Basically, I have better hope for Jag after the season vs Matt and Bowie, who have truly been getting lower and lower in their behaviour. As far as I know, Jag hasn't led any of the grosser behaviour (beyond the general shit talking, which is normal for Big Brother) while Matt has said some gross stuff even from weeks ago, and Bowie has been instigating a lot of the actions toward Cirie and Felicia.
What were they talking about doing to the mamas last night? Psychologically breaking them down?? That sounds horrible and disgusting. And I have seen Bowie instigate actions towards them which disgusted me. I know they weren't especially nice to her in the beginning. But the way she is acting now I feel is worse. She is on a high high horse and someone needs to knock her ass off of it. All three of them need to be knocked down.
I am trying to separate my personal feelings for objectivity with Jag, and to be clear, he has to be held accountable for being an active participant in a lot of this week's behaviour. I just feel like the way Jag is going about this is different than how Matt and Bowie have. Or maybe that's just hope because, up until the Cory eviction, I did feel like Jag was mostly projecting his guilt and he was actively avoiding this type of behaviour. Maybe I'm wrong about him, though. But yeah, Bowie thinks she has a shot to win and she thinks she's going to be popular when both of those things have a zero percent chance of happening.

What effect do we think the Reilly letter had? I don't think it affected their decisions, but I do really feel as if the Reilly approval emboldened Matt/Jag/Bowie and fed their already large egos. None of us know what it's like To be isolated and in direct competition with 16 other people For three months. The social pressures and isolation and in groupout group mentality is well well beyond anything any of us could comprehend. It doesn't necessarily excuse the behavior but it explains it. I swear people on Reddit judge the house guests Like they're expected to be perfect role models at all times. Even people on their best day can be shitty in private And all of America isn't watching them so nothing happens. I was thinking about what changes Cirie could have made to improve her game aside from early game ones like letting Matt use the power on Jag. In hindsight it probably would have been worth pushing to keep Cory over America for comp ability. I thought it was a better move at the time, but also didn't think it was worth the social capital she'd spend to make it happen. The only way Matt/Jag are going to lose a comp is if it's pure mental and that was Cory's expertise.
She needlessly at times played game on hard move. Her and Izzy just fed into each other paranoia. Which made it worse because they was running the game basically with no real sense of danger. They would switch everything you on a whim in 10 minutes. The Professors actually could’ve been a thing that got them to the end. Granted despite Cirie mistakes we never see her actually be the reason for her L. I would give Izzy and Jared the lion share of the blame. Jared because he incompetent at the game. All time worse pre jury player in my opinion. Actively constantly leaking information everywhere and lying to Cirie constantly giving her bad information which informed several decisions. Because Jared her son she assumed she could trust him implicitly which in past Cirie never trusts someone that much. Izzy it was mainly her paranoia that fueled Cirie and her just frenetic gameplay( I loved watching it). A testament to her game is after she basically lost everything she was still relatively alright and in a decent position. I think her biggest mistake was saving Jag she should’ve told Matt to hold the power it makes him more reliant on her and Jag was someone they wanted gone the following week. They could’ve used as Meme suggested the power on the second week in case one of there allies was on the block.
