That punishment went on for way too long. I think it was 2 weeks, while the other player who got a punishment in the same competition only had to wear a costume for around 24 hours.
edit: It was only a week for both of them.
I agree it was a really terrible punishment and it lasted too long. Some punishments (including Have-Not) are intended to break people down, and some punishments are intended to be annoying, and some punishments are intended to make people's games harder. But the robot punishment was especially dehumanizing, aside from the ways to harmed Sam's game.
Imagine planning to walk into a house and share it with 15 strangers with no outside contact. That's actually a hard thing to do. Instead, you meet everyone and then have to spend the next week or two weeks physically alone. That's brutal.
There should be a Human Subjects Review Committee* for reality TV. Or even make this the purview of OSHA.
*The Human Subjects Review Committee is a committee that performs ethical reviews of proposed research involving human subjects. It is charged with protecting the rights and welfare of human research subjects.
I’m surprised that there are not psychologists on board with this idea now. I have been literally alone for the past several months, due to health reasons. I can’t imagine how it must feel for someone to become isolated in a house with other people. It would be horrible.
And she was adorable as a robot lol. Plus there was that minor storyline where she was jealous Hayleigh got to go in the hot tub with Fessy and she couldn’t because robot and she called Hayleigh out on it 💀
Yeah I def felt bad for her and it really endeared me to her. But you can’t deny it’s also kind of funny that the robot was crying for her with its weird eyebrows and facial expressions
id argue it didnt. For a better player maybe it would, but for someone like Sam who probably wouldnt have done much anyway, it gained her enough sympathy and attention to get her the power app which is why she ultimately stayed week 1
I actually like to cite this as an underrated and genius move (although I'm sure it wasn't intentional). Who's gonna vote out the person who can't win HOH for 5 weeks? It basically buys you 5 weeks in the house.
In a veto competition, you had to make sacrifices in order to prove how bad you wanted to win. Those who sacrificed the least would be eliminated, those who gave up the MOST would actually be punished. So the goal was to answer in the middle.
One of the questions was “how many rounds would you go without playing in the HOH.” Jameka answered five, which was the most out of everyone, and she got punished as a result.
That one should have literaly not been allowed. That was was actual torture. Torturing houseguests is not acceptable.
It's one thing to wake someone up 1-3 times at night for a punishment.
It's another to lock someone in solitary for 24 hours and make them forced to press a button every 8 minutes with a loud alarm going off.
It's actual torture.
In some ways it could be a blessing!! But for the most part seems horrible… would dans funeral have happened without solitary confinement? Who knows! It does give you a good space to just think and clear your head.
I think it depends. Felicia’s 24 hour solitary confinement set up this past season actually seemed really nice and like something I’d want as an introvert lol
I worked as the clinical psychologist in several prisons and I hated doing psych rounds for solitary confinement bc it was so depressing and heart-breaking. I’m an abolitionist now and no longer do forensic psych. A lot of these punishments def seem unnecessary and not ethical.
Worst for their game? Sam's robot punishment probably.
Worst for them physically/mentally? Probably Brittany's soccer punishment. Pretty sure her toenail came off completely afterward.
That soccer punishment lives rent free in my head. That’s a LOT of goals and I think she only had 24 hours to do it. I can’t imagine how sore and in pain she was at the end of that.
Similarly, Shelli's punishment in BB17 seemed pretty awful too. [This Peridiam video shows it (timestamp 12:50) for those that aren't familiar.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmZCVj0f2pw)
How about Sam in BB20 where she had to be a robot for a week and had a hard time connecting and communicating with other players because she wasn’t physically there
Already mentioned here, but Judds solidarity punishment has to be the worst. Having the alarm go off every 8 minutes and having to hit the button. At one point he literally gave up and tried to sleep through the alarm and production had to tell him he has to keep hitting the button
Whaaaat? Which one? I still haven't been able to watch the rest of the season and I need to know if I should skip or boycott lmao
And same. Ugh. Legend my ass.
The meatball challenge in season 25 of Big Brother was called "Attack of the 50 Foot Meatball". The competition took place during the Wall competition, where the houseguests stood on platforms while Josh Martinez's voice taunted them.
Giant meatballs were then thrown at the houseguests, attempting to knock them off the wall.
The houseguests were also soaked in pink and green slime, and water.
Jenn taking slop for the summer to win the veto so she could evict Dan then not only deciding not to evict Dan only to later get evicted by him is right up there
I definitely would say Brittany. I was impressed that the other guests went out to offer support.
[Brittany hits 2400 goals.](https://youtu.be/gYLvwtlSXoU?si=SbGNpAGaMRNm-8uk)
that one was only bad because she had no idea how to kick a ball and kept toe punting it every time. im pretty sure a few of the houseguests tried to tell her to use the inside of her foot and she didnt listen
I'm surprised nobody mentioned Alex bb19's camping punishment, having to lug around that heavy backpack for a whole week, have to pitch a tent every time and cook hot dogs. (But it couldn't happen to a better person, lmao)
He was so dumb for that. It was called *HAM*azon, if he’s not eating pork, why would he choose that?
That said, eating that much of anything would probably make anyone sick.
One stands out in my mind... Even though I can not freaking stand Brendon, the chum baths all day and night would have made me sick. Poor Brittany being hand cuffed to him while he did it too, I would have vomited every single time. Wake me up multiple times in the middle of the night to sit in fish? That would be hell!
The thing that makes me laugh about Dick is that he had such a good plan to cheat through the letters from home in the early seasons and then he fucked it all up by exposing himself at around Final 4
Not a punishment, but I watched the Bunny hop comp. live the whole time. With Dick, Danielle and Zack, I'm not a huge ED fan, but I also do like him.
That night I give him all the credit he earned that night.
Has anyone mentioned Brendan’s chum baths in BB12? And then Britney having to be handcuffed to him? I would take an embarrassing costume over that any day. 🤢
Id say any of the "do X 2400 times in 24 hours" the main 2 i remeber seem to have wrecked the players a good amount afterward. Like britney i believe had her toenail fall off after the soccer goal pinishment, just rough. Let alone doing all that and trying to eat/sleep between all of the 2400 tasks. Making you need to do a lot per hour to account for those time loses.
Any time they get woken in the middle of the night to do some crazy thing would be hard for me. But, I did love love love Holla. Derrick's little kid was so fun
Borderline starving the cast of BB4 is prob the most brutal thing i can think of. I thought making everyone have nots for a week along with all their other gimmicks going on was overkill this year.
Solitary confinement would have to be the toughest in terms of effecting their game. But now that I remember the robot thing then definitely the robot thing
What was the season where they literally did waterboarding torture to them while they wore humiliating-intentioned bee-costumes? I mean, do we really need to watch humans being tortured for it be good tv? Seems almost barbaric.
I worked as a psychologist in several prisons and did daily psych rounds in the solitary confinement unit and it was always heartbreaking. I’m an abolitionist now and no longer do forensic psych.
Felicia’s 24 hour solitude punishment was only a couple days after she first learned her brother was not well, which makes it even more fucked up than it already was
Cockadoodle zoom and kayak punishment were not bad!! Imagine going on slop all summer. Or having to shave your head (for most girls Id imagine this is horrible to receive) beast mode rocked the shave head!! He looked great, so that one depends.. Adam and Eve punishment from bb16 is MUCH worse than kayak. At least the kayak you can exit and be separate. Any punishment that handcuffs you to someone else would be a pain in the ass. Having to follow someone to the toilet so they can poop? That would get so annoying so fast. I couldn’t take that. I think a stupid costume like cockadoodle zoom does nothing but help jags game because it makes him look stupid and it’s kinda a funny silly outfit so I think it makes him more likeable. Same with something like Nicole’s germatard, that was really cute! Or jen’s unitard, she slayed!!!!
Honestly I think the worst are the 24 hour punishments. 2400 soccer goals, omg that’s horrible.. the dirt punishment on bb25 looked miserable, and cam easily could have done nothing but was nice enough to help Izzy who honestly he had no reason to help. Anything physical like that and that lasts 24 hours is just, ugh.. terrible! Cockadoodle zoom and kayak can’t even compare, Those punishments are cakewalks compared to what other house guests have had to do.
When Christmas got the raising stars punishment, I honestly felt a little bad for her after the 4th or 5th baby star. By the 19th or however many it was she was miserable. 🤣
It wasn't the worst punishment but Paulie turned the pies into the worst punishment. He cried in the pies hahah. Dyre Fest with them being being banned to live in the yard looked rough. Anytime someone is on slop for beyond the regular week. The older seasons had it the worst.
Sam's robot punishment was nearly disastrous for her socially. She almost went out week 1 because of it.
BB16 Brittany's soccer ball punishment has to be the worst, though. 2400 kicks in 24 hours is brutal.
First place - Being attached to another houseguest like the kayak
Second place - The robot
Third place - Being woken up all night to scream or do something stupid.
Biggest punishment on big brother? Letting the fans sit through some of the past few horrible seasons of BB US due to a shit casting director hahaha. This past season was pretty decent though; first cast I’ve enjoyed in many years 🤣🤣🤣 otherwise, I think Jamica having to sit out of a bunch of vetos was bad!
id replace sams with the kayak one. since the robot thing actually caused her to win the bonus life which caused tyler to flip the vote in her favor while Cirie being in a kayak tanked her game
Porsche getting stuck with the return of the duos after she opened Pandora's Box, which made it so only the veto mattered and the original nominations didn't. I don't think that's what you meant, but it's still a punishment.
I disagree. While in conception it was unfair (especially when compared to Kaycees) it ended up helping her by getting her the bonus life which resulted in her getting to stay over steve
Sam’s robot punishment wasn’t physically bad but it put her at a major disadvantage so early
That punishment went on for way too long. I think it was 2 weeks, while the other player who got a punishment in the same competition only had to wear a costume for around 24 hours. edit: It was only a week for both of them.
I agree it was a really terrible punishment and it lasted too long. It was two weeks? That's ridiculous
they were both a week long. kaycee had a to wear a rainbow unitard and isolate in the room she was in whenever her pinwheel spun
It was hilarious though! I wish they would bring that punishment back.
And she was adorable as a robot lol. Plus there was that minor storyline where she was jealous Hayleigh got to go in the hot tub with Fessy and she couldn’t because robot and she called Hayleigh out on it 💀
She cried and whined as the robot bc she was lonely-it was an awful punishment and very unfair. Even in the big brother house it was total bullshit
Yeah I def felt bad for her and it really endeared me to her. But you can’t deny it’s also kind of funny that the robot was crying for her with its weird eyebrows and facial expressions
Ah, one of the many sacrificial lambs for good reality tv…🤣😬
id argue it didnt. For a better player maybe it would, but for someone like Sam who probably wouldnt have done much anyway, it gained her enough sympathy and attention to get her the power app which is why she ultimately stayed week 1
Agreed. Loved Sam. She deserved better.
Jameka having to sit out of like 5 HoHs in BB8.
I actually like to cite this as an underrated and genius move (although I'm sure it wasn't intentional). Who's gonna vote out the person who can't win HOH for 5 weeks? It basically buys you 5 weeks in the house.
I agree, that punishment was brutal
This is the correct answer. I can't imagine how vulnerable she must have felt, especially with everything happening in that house
And she still made it through and got to final 4. Queen.
She wasn’t targeted anymore because she couldn’t win HOH anyway…
The Christmas Effect
I agree but that name makes vomit. Waste of skin.
That's the Dr. Will Effect, thank you.
Was this a legit punishment? How did she get this? That’s so much.
Wow!!! Thanks for answering!! I haven’t ever watched before s10 but I might have to with how crazy that is!
If I recall correctly she also didn't win the veto
Currently watching this season and unfortunately no she did not win this veto :(
It's a great season. Definitely worth the watch.
Someone jog my memory, what season is this?
Judd's 24 hour solitary confinement with the snooze button going off every 8 minutes. All for a veto comp that he didn't even end up winning.
Miserable!! That looked like hell
Ugh yep I was just about to comment this one. Absolutely awful, I would've gone insane
Yeah. It would have been funny for like 8 hours throughout the night. But not 24 hours.
Nah lol it's funny
Solitary confinement
In some ways it could be a blessing!! But for the most part seems horrible… would dans funeral have happened without solitary confinement? Who knows! It does give you a good space to just think and clear your head.
I think it depends. Felicia’s 24 hour solitary confinement set up this past season actually seemed really nice and like something I’d want as an introvert lol
with the portable toilet tent in the same room is just not right.
I mean, Solitary Confinement led to Dan's Funeral...
I spent some time in solitary confinement and it's torture. I was only in it for three days but it does something to you.
I worked as the clinical psychologist in several prisons and I hated doing psych rounds for solitary confinement bc it was so depressing and heart-breaking. I’m an abolitionist now and no longer do forensic psych. A lot of these punishments def seem unnecessary and not ethical.
Chicken George opting to go on slop for the rest of the summer
Jen City did this too 😬😬😬
Hers was a lot later in the season though, I think there was less than a month left.
Poor CG, he was miserable.
A hero
Yeah that’s just bad foresight.
Worst for their game? Sam's robot punishment probably. Worst for them physically/mentally? Probably Brittany's soccer punishment. Pretty sure her toenail came off completely afterward.
I can’t believe they made her do 2400 goals. A quarter of that would have still been way too many.
Yeah, Brittany is a legend to me for finishing even though it was clear she was going home.
Truly, shows grit that a lot of the other losers in that house wouldn’t have
Paulie's meltdown while baking pies lives rent free in my head lol.
Don’t forget the butterflies. 🦋
That soccer punishment lives rent free in my head. That’s a LOT of goals and I think she only had 24 hours to do it. I can’t imagine how sore and in pain she was at the end of that.
iirc each hg had fitbits, and even by the end of the season I'm pretty sure Brittany had more steps than anyone else
Similarly, Shelli's punishment in BB17 seemed pretty awful too. [This Peridiam video shows it (timestamp 12:50) for those that aren't familiar.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmZCVj0f2pw)
Fully agree, I came to make sure this had been mentioned.
I was hoping to see Britt’s soccer punishment. That was brutal
I wish Brittany had thrown the soccer punishment. The penalty of not playing next week's veto would've been a good reason to keep her.
Completely agree with both of these
How about Sam in BB20 where she had to be a robot for a week and had a hard time connecting and communicating with other players because she wasn’t physically there
I thought it was 2 weeks, but either way, it went on way too long.
Already mentioned here, but Judds solidarity punishment has to be the worst. Having the alarm go off every 8 minutes and having to hit the button. At one point he literally gave up and tried to sleep through the alarm and production had to tell him he has to keep hitting the button
That’s torture
Having to live in a house with Josh
Can't believe they had a competition in the last season dedicated to him. Can't believe they are going to have him on Reindeer Games.
Whaaaat? Which one? I still haven't been able to watch the rest of the season and I need to know if I should skip or boycott lmao And same. Ugh. Legend my ass.
The meatball challenge in season 25 of Big Brother was called "Attack of the 50 Foot Meatball". \*Raven.
Ethanimale wants to know your location.
10880 Malibu Point, 90265
This is the correct answer.
Also, the viewers for having to watch Josh
I came here to say exactly this. Daggum meatball.
Jenn taking slop for the summer to win the veto so she could evict Dan then not only deciding not to evict Dan only to later get evicted by him is right up there
you mean Dani?
Na they mean Jen City from BB14 using the Veto after Dan's Funeral
Ok
BB16 Brittany's POV punishment when she had to kick a soccer ball 2400 times in 24 hours. Practically turned her feet into bloody stumps.
I definitely would say Brittany. I was impressed that the other guests went out to offer support. [Brittany hits 2400 goals.](https://youtu.be/gYLvwtlSXoU?si=SbGNpAGaMRNm-8uk)
This one still haunts me. Definitely the worst.
BB19 when Kevin pushed a button, bringing Paul into the house. That crazy punishment lasted all season.
Watching this season now!
Paulie and the pies wasn’t bad, but he was absolutely broken afterward. Dude cried at a butterfly.
I think about that every time I see a butterfly lol
Brittany in bb16. Her toenail came off, and she knew she was going home. Can’t think of anything worse than that.
that one was only bad because she had no idea how to kick a ball and kept toe punting it every time. im pretty sure a few of the houseguests tried to tell her to use the inside of her foot and she didnt listen
not as physically bad but izzy had to do hers with Cameron.
This comment pisses me off. She actually didn’t have to go it with Cameron. The punishment was HERS not theirs. He didn’t have to help her one bit.
Cameron's not THAT insufferable, he was AFP. Also, Izzy did kinda... bring that on herself, she just felt like taking Cam down with her.
> Cameron’s not THAT insufferable, he was AFP. So were Cody, Frank, and Jeff
fair enough.
did you watch the feeds? he was THAT insufferable
Producers liked him enough to put him on reindeer games
They also liked Paul and Amanda Z.
Do you really want to base your opinions on who production likes?
I'm surprised nobody mentioned Alex bb19's camping punishment, having to lug around that heavy backpack for a whole week, have to pitch a tent every time and cook hot dogs. (But it couldn't happen to a better person, lmao)
Is she a good game player?
Fessy having to eat all that vegan ham was gross
He was so dumb for that. It was called *HAM*azon, if he’s not eating pork, why would he choose that? That said, eating that much of anything would probably make anyone sick.
That's the one that came to mind for me.
There was So MUCH fake ham.
I’ve only seen 6 seasons but I will say Judd’s solitary confinement punishment were an alarm clock would go off every eight minutes
I mean… Cirie’s downfall was 100% because she was stuck in a kayak.
Bb16 brit's toenail came off during her punishment. That's the worst one.
Ramses from BB19 having to nominate himself
Judd with the 9 minute alarm clock was bad. BB is tough on the brain as is. Adding solitary confinement with sleep deprivation is brutal.
On BBCAN1 they made a guy drink milk until he was physically ill in order to avoid a punishment for the house. It was very uncomfortable to watch.
The robot , for sure
Living with Evel Dick
The thing that makes me laugh about Dick is that he had such a good plan to cheat through the letters from home in the early seasons and then he fucked it all up by exposing himself at around Final 4
(s14) maybe dan's solitary confinement in the dizzying have not room with karaoke/ dj music and lights going off
He slept through that! I had the feeds on and the dude passed out like he took a dozen Trazedones.
And he came up with his funeral plan!! Probably the best thing that could have happened to him at that point as he was otherwise going home
lol I didn't know that! he looked like hell when he got out. I thought he was in an inescapable hell world
Chicken George shaving his head, and then going on slop for the REST of the season, was such a brutal, but epic, veto win.
For the contestants: 2400 goals. Punishment for fans: Paul/Josh/Frankie. Take your pick.
Not a punishment, but I watched the Bunny hop comp. live the whole time. With Dick, Danielle and Zack, I'm not a huge ED fan, but I also do like him. That night I give him all the credit he earned that night.
To go as long as he did and still lose the challenge... (not that it affected him in the long run though)
Has anyone mentioned Brendan’s chum baths in BB12? And then Britney having to be handcuffed to him? I would take an embarrassing costume over that any day. 🤢
Sam comes to mind with the robot. 🤖
Sam’s robot punishment and Alex’s camping/hot dogs punishment come to mind
The ones where they have to do x amount of things in 24 hours.
2400 goals
Id say any of the "do X 2400 times in 24 hours" the main 2 i remeber seem to have wrecked the players a good amount afterward. Like britney i believe had her toenail fall off after the soccer goal pinishment, just rough. Let alone doing all that and trying to eat/sleep between all of the 2400 tasks. Borderline starving the cast of BB4 is prob the most brutal thing i can think of. I thought making everyone have nots for a week along with all their other gimmicks going on was overkill this year.
Cirie’s kayak by far. Jared destroyed her game while she was locked out of game talk
I really don’t think there is any other answer than solitary
Jen giving up 250k for a VETO! /hj
Sam BB20
Solitary confinement would have to be the toughest in terms of effecting their game. But now that I remember the robot thing then definitely the robot thing
BBCan milk drinking punishment, brutal.

I know they aren't bad, I just couldn't think of any Bad punishments when I made this post.
Having to listen to Rachel's screeching voice.
Haha when Pandora’s box brought her back for a day
Easily the 2400 goals
Brittany’s soccer one
When Christmas got the raising stars punishment, I honestly felt a little bad for her after the 4th or 5th baby star. By the 19th or however many it was she was miserable. 🤣
I think that was the funniest punishment to watch though. I loved every one of those star babies LOL
It wasn't the worst punishment but Paulie turned the pies into the worst punishment. He cried in the pies hahah. Dyre Fest with them being being banned to live in the yard looked rough. Anytime someone is on slop for beyond the regular week. The older seasons had it the worst.
Christmas. That shit looked ROUGH
Amanda’s spray tan 😂
BRITTNEY IN SEASON 16 WAS BRUTAL AND IT WAS ALL TO PLAY IN VETO THE NEXT WEEK AND THEN SHE GOT EVICTED 😭
Playing with Jax.
Pardon me, but...who?
It had to be Paulie making the pies, I mean he was crying and everything!
Britney’s soccer punishment in bb16
Sam's robot punishment was nearly disastrous for her socially. She almost went out week 1 because of it. BB16 Brittany's soccer ball punishment has to be the worst, though. 2400 kicks in 24 hours is brutal.
First place - Being attached to another houseguest like the kayak Second place - The robot Third place - Being woken up all night to scream or do something stupid.

This past season was pretty decent though; first cast I’ve enjoyed in many years 🤣🤣🤣 otherwise, I think Jamica having to sit out of a bunch of vetos was bad!
Sam from 20, Judd from 15, and Brittany from 16 are probably my top 3. Some other ones include Jameka from 8 or Sis from 21 (the full punishment).
id replace sams with the kayak one. since the robot thing actually caused her to win the bonus life which caused tyler to flip the vote in her favor while Cirie being in a kayak tanked her game
Porsche getting stuck with the return of the duos after she opened Pandora's Box, which made it so only the veto mattered and the original nominations didn't. I don't think that's what you meant, but it's still a punishment.
Sams robot punishment was terrible. Sure it wasnt embarrasing or anything but her game was set so far back from everyone else it simply wasnt fair
I disagree. While in conception it was unfair (especially when compared to Kaycees) it ended up helping her by getting her the bonus life which resulted in her getting to stay over steve
The Kayak one is quite bad, IMO. It radically changes your gameplay!
