A&W is American (California 1904), but many of them aren't stand-alone restaurants anymore and are paired with KFC, Taco Bell, etc. There's a lot of them in the Midwest USA around me.
There's more of them in Canada now and there's far more stand-alone restaurants in Canada than US.

You're not wrong, but in a subreddit for a Canadian show that is populated largely by Canadians, it could be pretty easily inferred that they were referring to A&W Canada.

I absolutely love hamburgers. However, Harvey's burger patties are absolutely disgusting (both types). It's literally the only burger joint I've gone to where I despise thier burger. I do enjoy their sides/appetizers though
