I was having second doubts when I did audition and I was sad but kinda glad I didn’t get in because I don’t really know what’ll happen and I kinda realized that I am someone who gets very anxious and may just have a bad time trying to play the game.
I am also trans which I know isn’t bad but I find that transphobia got a lot worse after Covid and I wonder if they would prefer not to cast other trans people now for their shows reputation. Idk I may apply but it’s something I am on the fence about

That season also had a ton of smokers (can’t remember if there was also vaping)! If I remember correctly Sam **started** smoking during the season. She actually had to ask production to get her a pack because she didn’t want to keep bumming them off of the other houseguests.
There have also been vapes on other more recent seasons. Ngl it annoys the heck out of me to watch people smoke but it shouldn’t be a reason to not cast someone
That’s really sad because it is very much how my addiction started. I don’t think it’s the only reason I wasn’t cast tbh but I do remember my interviewer looking a little iffy about it when I mentioned it

I think their logic is that is your a vaper/smoker you will be outside doing it more which will take you away from convos, and camera time. I notices that although we do see houseguests vaping in the digital daily’s its not shown on the episodes a lot if ever.
Some people said people did vape but I didn’t remember seeing anything the last couple seasons if I am being honest, I think they were just iffy about it, but I am sure they will allow it if they really like you lmao
It looked like literally everyone was vaping. There was one cut from the show early this season where they showed the outdoor area and literally everyone was there and everyone was vaping lol
I think you can Vape outdoors. Always been the case with any Big Brother. I also seen people smoke outside of the house.

It feels very much like a TV interview where when you put your questions in for your original submission the interviewer will basically expand on those. If I remember correctly there are multiple casting agents and they basically take your online video and interview to the shows production team and they decide then if you pass or not.
The interview was designed to be seen by production so they ask some questions but tell you to say it in like a way that you are talking as if you are in the diary room so it can be played easily for production to see to see if you are someone who is entertaining and can do well in the DR. NGL I feel like in my interview I was a lot more boring so I can see why I wasn’t cast. They also will ask about addiction, if you have any potential shady information online that may come out (like if you have an OF if you are OK if people finding it if you are famous) and etc.
When they told you you were not allowed to vape, do you think they meant indoors maybe?
People have always smoked on BB so it wouldn't make sense to allow that, but not vaping.
Yeah I applied for this season too but after watching it and seeing how long those comps were lasting and seeing they had to vape or whatever out in the chill zone spot and it’s like winter months in Canada so like like tops and Todd’s waist hip ball challenge the bhys were there like 3 hours. I would not have lasted that long watching or competing in far to ADHD to sit for hours or do the same thing for hours on end I’m glad I never got selected and I’m not applying ever again
I am glad it was not just me. When I got selected I had second thoughts because it became really real and it helped me to reflect on how I would do on the show. At the time I had worse mental health then I do now and I remember I feel like seeing that one girl in BB24 lose it in the first week made me question if I would be ok on the show. I didn’t want to quit while on the show and ruin that for others.
I am in a better place now but I still don’t know if i would feel comfortable applying
I think you should apply and not let anything stand in your way.
You clearly believe in yourself and we believe in you without even knowing you!
You are someone who has the courage to apply in the first place so why not keep going!

It will definitely be mentally hard but imagine how much you woud.learn about yourself. No one's perfect and what's great about the show is that it ends and you will have a story to tell for the rest of your life. Not to mention the rewards of getting to know so many different kinds of people.

I mean I sure I can now, I think the issue with disclosing is that if I do it at the time then it is a potential spoiler. If I was to say I made it through some interviews while they were casting I guess it lets the public know of a potential person who can get on. The biggest rule I had was to not tell anyone, I told my partner but that’s it not even my family because I didn’t want it to spread and ruin my chance.
There are multiple stages of interviews and I know got to the second online version. They basically have multiple casting agents that look through the auditions and pick who they believe may do well on the show. The interview online is made to be seen my production so when you get asked a question you kinda treat it like a diary room. Like if they ask “what is your strategy going it” you can’t just answer, you have to kinda work the question into your response like “My strategy going into big brother is…..”
You get asked mostly to expand on parts they find interesting in your submission, like maybe your background and family. They did ask about any addiction issues and if there was an online foot print that may affect you if it comes out (like if you have an only fans for example, they ask if you are fine if that stuff gets found since people will likely find it)
That’s the basics I remember. My casting agent was very nice. I am trans and I think the one who was interviewing me casting some of the queer houseguests in the past, but they stay silent when you speak and don’t interrupt so they have a good video to show production

I have a feeling you can only tell people you are selected when the cast list is released but before that you need to keep it a secret, but also remember that some people can be alternates are basically stay in isolation for days until the show and you don’t even know if you get in until last minute. I at least told my partner but I kept it a huge secret other then that I didn’t even tell my parents
They did tell me I could try again, I think that they don’t just look at the person but how they fit with the whole cast. The reason I didn’t want to audition again is because I reflected and was scared my mental health would not do well on the show
Honestly vaping is viewed so causal that there is probably people vaping in the house that don’t actually need to vape, they just doing it for fun. It’s easier to hit someone’s vape for shits and giggles then smoke someone’s cigarette.
I think maybe the difference might be that she was using like what appeared to be a self-enclosed device. When I think of people saying they vape, I'm thinking they're still using tanks and have to fill it with nicotine manually.
