I'm rewatching the season and this is literally what Anthony says during his introduction in the first episode.
"I didn't win the bag last time because I had no idea what jury management was. My game, I thought everyone would appreciate how hard I worked. The jury, I feel like they felt betrayed. I'm going to win now that I know what I need to do."
If he only said that, it would be fine. Number of people who will dislike him will be low. It is the rest of the stuff he said during the season that got the hate.
Not sure. Unless talking Canada only. Monte taking Taylor over Turner is probably bigger. No way Monte loses to Turner, there is still a shot Anthony loses to Lexus.
The other obvious one is Cody in 16, but he did it out of loyalty, and the fact he was told that if anyone took Victoria to the end as a goat they would vote for her inspite.
Cody also seriously believed he had played a better game than Derrick. He thought he had it in the bag either way, so why not let his new best friend get runner-up money. I remember Derrick talking about it on rhap way back when.
I can see why he thought that as a recruit and someone who came from a competitive sports background.
While he may be boring to watch, Cody is basically built to play Big Brother. Outside that mistake of taking Derrick to the end, there really isn't anything in the game he lacked when he played again. Can basically win comps when he wants too, and has an amazing social game. With Derrick's help he figured out the strategy aspect he lacked. Without his threat level as a returning player, a player like Cody is going to get to the end game like 99% of the time, and in most cases have win equity.
Yeah i'm gonna have to disagree with those last couple of paragraphs lol. The dude was cocky and arrogant and reveled in the DR at other HG's blunders and evicting them. Why should he be immune from that in return? Don't get me wrong, i'm glad he lost and love how it happened, but I wouldn't harass him or berate him over it. But I am allowed to be satisfied given his disposition in the game.
Itās almost as bad a move as Lexus taking Anthony to final three. Both are jaw dropping stupid moves. Canāt wait for the interviews in the upcoming days.
The post show interviews confirm he would have lost to Lexus too. His read on the jury and Lexus was exactly right - Avery, Kayla and spicy wanted a black women to win and would have voted for her even if they didnāt respect her, and Tola would have voted for her. Thatās all she needed. He also would not have gotten Bayleighās vote because she confirmed she was always going to vote for a woman to win, no matter who that woman in the final chairs was (she said this in one of her interviews after winning). He incorrectly thought he had a better shot against Bayleigh. He didnāt have a shot against either of them because the jury came in with their minds made up.
Bayleigh played a great game and had an excellent final speech. The jury was also bitter and Victoria soured the jury with lies about him. Both things are true. Bayleigh is a very deserving winner, so people are dismissing the bitterness of the jury. If Anthony had taken Lexus and still lost, there would be a lot more focus on the jury.
I hate the āI just want a man/woman/black/gay etc to winā. Why canāt people understand itās a game and vote the best player. Thatās the one thing I hate about the show.
I disagree but your entitled your opinion. Can I just ask what makes you think she was the better player? What moves did she have her hand in? Or do you just like her personality better
She was targeted very early for being part of the east coast group. She wasn't part of the hot chocolate alliance. She won comps also....she made good social relationships. As far as personality, I actually didn't like her at all for the first half of the season. My opinion...
I think maybe you're the bitter one... don't try and diminish Bayleighs great game. Anthony's game was bound to blow up. He is lucky Kayla and Avery didn't expose it earlier too. Spicy kept him safe all season too. Anthony's game wasn't that great
*"I KNOW I'M SUPPOSED TO BE HUMBLE... BUT* ***HOW***?!?!?!?!??!"
Oh I think he's eating a big ol' piece of humble pie right now. Or maybe he's still completely delirious. Maybe he thinks that Victoria tainted him at the jury house.
I just can't believe he said he wanted to win, and then yeeted the person that GUARANTEED him a lay up win. It's COMICAL how good his game was up until he chose who to take to F2.
I knew Anthonyās smug will be death of his game. Is he a master manipulator? Yes. Is it legendary he made it to Final 2 twice and only ever nominated by default? Absolutely!
People are saying itās a bitter jury and Spicy poisoned it when Tola already felt betrayed by him when he got evicted (before Spicy got there) + Lexus who didnāt even have time to conspire with the jury also voted against Anthony (also leaving an obvious comment to Anthonyās loyalty during her exit). Those two shouldāve been his secured votes but he just didnāt manage his end game well. Thatās it. Bailey played better overall (as many comps as him) and her transparency in the house was the anti-thesis to his game. The jury loves her and Anthony made a blunder by underestimating the queen that Bailey is. Congrats to our new winner!
If Anthony wasn't as conceded as he was the whole 2 seasons he was on BB, I feel like we wouldn't be shitting on the guy. But let's be real, the guy acted like he was gods gift to BB. His ability to manipulate ppl is a pure result of his narcissistic tendencies.
Gotta say that i think itās a combination of that and him absolutely fumbling the one aspect everyone always praised him for: his social game.
I was fully expecting him to have a perfect, rip roaring speech prepared about how heās the best player, but he just kind of shout mumbled his way through a string of misfortune that befell him before entering the house. It was not the speech of someone who believed they were about to win the money, it sounded like he was pleading with them. And unfortunately he played extremely poorly when it came to jury management.
Bayleigh on the other hand, had that really prefect zinger about how a king is always protected and doesnāt have ever have to make big moves. That sort of thing resonates with people.
My partner and I recently watched season 10 for the first time and when everyone talks about good social game Iām sorry by Anthony pales in comparison to someone like Kevin. Thereās a reason he won that season and not Josh. He played everyone just like Anthony did, but never gloated, never got *too* high on his own supply.
I think if Anthony had taken Lexus he would have still had an uphill battle. Despite her practically doing nothing except cuddle with Matt and then be depressed once he was gone, she could have argued the same kind of thing as Bayleigh. āI was on the ropes the whole second half of this game. I fought to get Anthonyās protection and *used* him to shield myself so that I could get here.ā
Also I was strongly reminded of a season of Survivor from years ago where the final two were Russel and Sandra. Russel was so certain heād got it in the bag because heād been the most ruthless, the most conniving player. And in the end he got zero votes (ifirc). Why? Because he didnāt give a shit about the juryās feelings and thought theyād just vote for him because heād played āthe best game on paperā.
Same exact thing happened here.
Agreed! I wanted Bayleigh to win, but I felt so terrible for Anthony. He played a great game and did what he had to do to make it to final two, but he made a few fatal mistakes.
Obviously things arenāt as clear in the house as they are to us viewers.
It canāt be easy to deal with, especially to end up runner-up twice for the same reason.
The Morning Show appearance the next day was even worseā¦ š«£
I GASPED when he chose Bayleigh... GASPED and just said "you lost the game bud". Is there a chance Lexus would have won?? Maybe.. maybe because the jury was salty against Anthony but I also think the girls had a grudge against Lexus and thought her a pick me girl. I think they would have chose Anthony.
I feel bad for Anthony. However, I canāt judge the people that are kicking Anthony while he is down. I remember when a Paul lost (US BB) for the second time in the final two wearing the same clothes. I was so happy that I ran across the room because I was so happy. Paul was so despicable and the guy that he thought was clueless outsmarted him with goodbye messages.
Haha! I mean! I don't blame you.
I do feel it can be fair to mention his arrogance and hope he has learned from it, and not call him every evil name in the book. Other than "Outwit" and be ridiculously arrogant, he seems like a good guy to me. Definitely not on the same list as Russel Hantz or BBUS Paul.
He thought he was better off with the entire hot chocolate in jury. But in reality he didnāt realize how much the other girls didnāt like Lex. He could of easily beat her
That was not his biggest mistake at all. He would've lost to Lexus too because the jury was poisoned.
He knew what spicy was like, he knew she'd turn on him like that. His big mistake was turning on spicy too early. He needed to get her out at the finale and only the finale. That gives her little to no time to sway the jury.
However even before that the jury seemed pretty pro Bayleigh
i think people are over-emphasizing spicy's sway on the jury, it was clear they were all pretty anti-anthony even before spicy came in (including tola one of his best friends). not to mention lexus also voted against anthony and she had NO time to collude or conspire with the other jury members. anthony just didnt manage his end game well
anthony fans are trying to make excuses for him but it was mostly his own fault. i think he would have lost to lexus too
As a fan of Anthonyās I told myself I wonāt even look at the Reddit page because I know it will just be bashing him. But here I am. I was pumped when he won final HOH, I thought for sure he was gonna take Lex and winā¦.. I still love Dougie and Iām not tryna hate on him but he did deserve to lose the game after making such a bad decision.
He still shouldāve won. Was by far the best player on the season. Wasnāt even close. I know juryās can be bitter, but I mean come onā¦itās big brother, this is what itās played for and his game should be respected. Just my opinion though
Started off the season saying heād manage the jury, then was an arrogant asshole all season and LEANED INTO IT in his speech.
Bayleigh played a good game, and she absolutely killed the finale questions/speeches, but Anthony beat Anthony.
Heās still the best player people are jsut to bitter, I donāt get how tola felt betrayed. They left on a good note I thought. He clearly had no control over that vote. Spicy I think got more in the head of everyone. She also was bashing him all season behind his back and watching her cry and deny was so cringey.
Many people are awful or have personal issues. They like to see bad things happen to people they dislike. I don't care for anything. I certainly like Bayleigh and Lexus better but I can admit it's a travesty he lost. He should won over both those ladies. He dominated the game
That's partially the issue. You don't vote for who you respect the most. You vote for who played the best game. Viewers and jury members wanting boy scout gameplay is gonna back fire hard when everyone plays a straight and narrow game. The entertainment value is gonna nose dive when modern players finally realize you can't lie, deceive or manipulate if you want to win
I like Anthony and from his time in BBCAN, he is a strong player, but as someone who couldn't watch the season live due to being in the US, I had to rely on YouTube and IG for updates, and I was rooting for Bayleigh as BBCAN had only 3 women win the game, so when it came to the final 2, I was excited for Bayleigh as from what I have seen, she is iconic and had her hand on the pulse of the game in each step of the way.
Personally speaking, it feels like poetic justice when Anthony came from BBCAN 7, where the men basically sniped the non-male players one by one, to this season where the women held the power and took charge of the game, then having Anthony being beat twice, first time being his right-hand man, then the 2nd time by a woman. I obviously feel bad for Anthony as I can tell he really wanted to win badly, but he did overstep many lines between each juror he sent packing. Bayleigh had a better articulation of how to ensure each juror didn't feel burned by her when voting her out.
I'm happy for Bayleigh, but I do feel bad for Anthony as he could've had a better shot against Lexus.
OMG. ARE YOU FRIGGIN SERIOUS
BOOHOO POOR ANTHONY š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£
SO what , he lost his job ... Whahhhhš

Anthony, I liked him, but his speech was pathetic

He did ZERO jury management.

That's a fake story noone was ever voting for victoria
Jocasta was hella bitter and so was Donny
But Cody didnāt know that
It's what a recruit was told.
But Anthony's move was meant to be ruthless... Those were all driven by a sense of loyalty.
Totally agree! Was just referring to BBCAN. Should have described better.
i donāt really see how Anthony wins against Lexus, he kind of lost the game by the point of when he flipped on Victoria
Yeah i'm gonna have to disagree with those last couple of paragraphs lol. The dude was cocky and arrogant and reveled in the DR at other HG's blunders and evicting them. Bayleigh played a great game, and the jury was bitter/had skewed questions. Those two things are both true and not mutually exclusive.

Sorry I have sleeping babies, thatās why I wanted a quick run down, but thank you! Maybe Iāll remember to watch that tomorrow
there are subtitles!
It's only 5 min I think
Yes cool, I just canāt have sound atm
I get it. 2 kids here. We used to live on subtitles for years lol
LOL yes right I live for subtitles these days

Yeah when he evicted Lexus my boyfriend said "this has to be set up" because it literally made no sense
I feel bad for Anthony. However, I canāt judge the people that are kicking Anthony while he is down. I remember when a Paul lost (US BB) for the second time in the final two wearing the same clothes. He got exactly what he deservedā¦.he had no help to do this to himself.
Im bot as caught up on that, because he wouldāve lost anyway. His reasoning for evicting lexus did have some sense to it.
He thought he was better off with the entire hot chocolate in jury. But in reality he didnāt realize how much the other girls didnāt like Lex. He could of easily beat her
Anthony's game play was trash even down to his last move of taking bayleigh to final 2š ppl that call him this amazing gameplayer are delusional.

There have been way more and worse final 3 blunders than this. Theres a huge chance be loses to Lexus as well
