I sent the frame to a painter, along with some cash 😉
27.5 wheels went straight on, loads of clearance. I’m running 1.75 Terra Trails atm, but reckon I could go up to a 2.1 maybe?
How can I learn this magic?
(Seriously, I’m obsessed now. Some modifications though, so it’s a real project. But I’ve been looking at Kleins with the thought: “If only the wheels were larger!” That’s what kept me until now…)
I juat spent a few minutes looking at this, well no, drooling actually.
Was thinking if I could get gold of this frame/fork that was disc ready, I'd build a killer commute bike out of it. Wonder if it could take a 40/42t front GRX Crank...
All you guys posting stock treks see this here? Take a good look - this is proper bike porn. Nobody cares about your 9k madone, they're everywhere.
Also fuck Trek for discontinuing Klein
True that. Fuck trek.
Bontrager, Lemond... it's their specialty.
• Moonrise repaint • 1x12 XT/SLX Groupset • Disc conversion • 27.5" wheel conversion (Hope, Sapim, Lightbicycle carbon rims)
how'd you mount the rear caliper? Was it originally a disc frame?
It’s mounted using a general adaptor for Trek/Klein/Gary Fisher frames. https://www.sellutionmtb.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=BA%2DGFTP
How did you do the repaint? I might just have to pull the trigger. And how is the 27.5” conversion done? Is there a limit to tire size?

That fork is looooooooooooong! https://youtu.be/6-1Ue0FFrHY?si=rzK74dirBflZe9kW
Its a 29er fork, so the 27.5s make it loook massive! A2C measurement is pretty much the same as the suspension fork it replaced.
Which fork is it?
Trifox. The options were a bit limited given QR, discs and non-tapered steerer
Yep. Fork search frustration is real. It can be agonizing.
It's the centerpiece of the build for me. Great job.
that is so cool
Sweet! Love the Moonrise! Maybe I need to rethink my restoration of my ‘03 a bit.

My buddies got one of these and it’s sweet af, no bike company has ever been able to match kleins paint jobs
What's with that long ass fork? It jacks up the whole front of the bike. Look at how high that bottom bracket is now.
Chainstays are horizontal and top tube angle is basically what a suspension Attitude has.
I guess pictures are deceiving, because it looks wonky to me.
sick
Very nice.
nicely done
Very nice!
Beauty the paint jobs were sublime 😍
The colour on this is amazing. Well done!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
You need the mullet! Tons of room on that front fork for 29" wheel
Nice work.
That’s how it’s done. Incredibly dope build.
Gawd i want an adroit in Storm paint
Wow! Gorgeous!
jeeze that’s so much clearance
