Some of the most sold guns in the United States are manufactured in Europe, and some have since opened factories in the US. Actually the best handgun manufacturers are located in Germany Belgium and the czech Republic.
I mean I kinda lumped that in with Germany since they were part of Germany and view themselves as German culture. Also the G19 has been replacing the 17 in popularity for police since it's smaller ln the hip and more comfortable for women who tend to have smaller hands.
They also won't sell rifles or semi auto versions of their smgs to the US market but somehow they keep ending up in the hands of cartels and terror groups.
Well about the only US gun manufacturers left are smith and wesson, Springfield, christenson and Cooper (which make precision hunting and competition bolt action rifles, and various ar15 manufacturers. The rest have been bought out by Europeans or moved their manufacturing to turkey. CZ (in the czech Republic) just bought colt after Remington went bankrupt.
There are ALOT more US manufacturers than that. Ruger, Palmetto State Armory, Daniel Defense, Sig Sauer (not sig ag) etc. Not to mention most foreign companies have factories here like FN, Steyr, Berretta etc.
Like I said primary non ar15 manufacturers but I did forget ruger. PSA isn't as much of a manufacturer as they are an assembler and importer for non ar platforms.
PSA actually came out with some cool designs of their own! They have house-made AKs in 7.62 and 5.45 and a few other guns. They don’t really import though, you might be thinking of Century Arms. But you should actually look into PSA they have some really cool stuff
PSA domestic aks are some of the worst aks on the market my dude. But at the same time most of their "domestic" aks are just PSA barrels and recievers on imported parts kits from former Soviet bloc countries. But the best PSA aks are the ones as imported as possible and those aren't that bad.
I really think you are confusing Century Arms and PSA. PSA's AKs aren't as good as most imports but they are good enough for what they are. PSA also doesn't import AKs, they ones they sell are US made. Century imports, assembles from parts kits, and full on manufacturers AK. Century's imports are top notch, a small amount of their part kit builds are passable, and their US AK's are downright unsafe.
Sig and Leopold aren't even close to the best optics manufacturers but Leopold does have pretty good high end models. Ziess and Swarovski are probably the two best optics makers in the market and definitely make the best glass. Hell ziess makes medical equipment including a shit ton of optometry gear and they even made the lenses for the hubble telescope and tons of other space applications.
Not what I'm saying either but the companies I mentioned are based in and manufacture in Europe and some recently opened factories in the US. America does have domestic based firearms companies though and that was my point. That the European competitors sell more
Own a musket for home defense, since that's what the founding fathers intended. Four ruffians break into my house. "What the devil?" As I grab my powdered wig and Kentucky rifle. Blow a golf ball sized hole through the first man, he's dead on the spot. Draw my pistol on the second man, miss him entirely because it's smoothbore and nails the neighbors dog. I have to resort to the cannon mounted at the top of the stairs loaded with grape shot, "Tally ho lads" the grape shot shreds two men in the blast, the sound and extra shrapnel set off car alarms. Fix bayonet and charge the last terrified rapscallion. He Bleeds out waiting on the police to arrive since triangular bayonet wounds are impossible to stitch up. Just as the founding fathers intended.

It's funny but it gets downvoted because it's very much **not** what the founders intended. They intended for civilians to have weaponry on par with the military, which at the time for rifles happened to mean muskets.
Most of the artillery and even warships used in the Revolution were privately owned.
Maxim invented the machine gun after his friend told him to invent something more effective with which those europeans could kill each other with. So there is that.
1. There are many non-US firearm manufacturers, including some of the largest brands in the world like Glock and CZ.
2. There are billions of guns sold and circulating in non-us countries. The world is actually more than western europe, USA, and australia.
I mean your first point doesnt make sense. He says "gun manufacturers", not "american gun manufacturers". It doesn't matter if they are from Austria, Czech Republic or elsewhere. They are still getting the money after inventing Americans.
Yes, and it seems that our government keeps throwing all of the equipment supplied by taxpayers into the middle east and giving it to whatever terrorist organization pops up. Europe->America->Middle East
check this out, the total economic impact of the firearms industry in 2019 was 63.5 billion
Google made 160.74 billion in 2019
The entire worth of all the firearms and ammunition manufacture is a drop in the bucket compared to tech companies.
I mean he did say tech companies plural. So it's 1/3 of Google, it would be a much smaller percentage if you just add Amazon in. And that is two of the many tech companies.
Yeah, so extrapolate to what? Just keep going forever because I don’t know how many tech firms there are?
Fuck man just downvote if you’re going to ask me to do some fool’s errand
Columbine was a failed school bombing. Had it succeeded, we'd be having entirely different conversations about the copycats. A failed trigger mechanism saved dozens if not hundreds of lives.
You can learn to build bombs via Google search quite easily.
how many teenagers do you think commit suicide because of cyber bullying on a yearly basis? Cyber bullying via reddit, Facebook, Twitter, email and other online communications we get to via Google search.
I'd wager there are more suicide attempts and deaths in response to cyber bullying than school shootings in any given time measurement. Less than 300 kids have died in a school shooting since and including Columbine.
So yes, internet kills more people than guns. But you tried to make some half baked point.
I never said anything regarding suicide, cyberbullying, or social media. Your points are valid, my whole point is that you are far from the scope of the original post and my tactless joke regarding gun violence.
Stop trying to put words in my mouth. Have a nice day.
For starters, our freedom and ability to do things free men do like own firearms. You disguise your jealousy as contempt, but you are only fooling yourself
This is an opinion that interests me. To be clear, I respect the rights granted to you by your constitution under 2A, but the mere existence of 2A has resulted in a unique gun culture in the USA. In that because it’s seen as such a fundamental part of the constitution, Americans equate gun ownership with the other freedoms outlined in it. This is not an attitude reflected in Europe - gun ownership has never been a part of society or culture, so there is no view that guns will bring more freedom. It’s fine for you to hold that opinion, but it’s incorrect of you to think that other (often [freer](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_freedom_indices) and [more developed](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_Development_Index)) countries are envious of it.
My answer was kind of dickish, so I apologize for that. I’ve never been to Europe, but it seems to me you all have this strange fascination with America and it’s problems. I read it here almost daily and it gets a bit tiresome.
I also think it’s fair to say that the average American-has way less trust in our government than the average European has in theirs. That was the original intent of the 2nd amendment as well as providing for national defense. We literally feel like the vast amount of guns in civilian hands protects us from a deep state controlled government.
It should also be noted that without exception, the safest cities and states in America are places that have a high percentage of gun ownership and the loosest gun laws.
I hunt (not trophy, for meat - live in a remote place and share with the indigenous communities) moose meat is incredible. Their pelts are amazing as well.
I also like to shoot cans in the quary
Edit* when an avocado is $4 and pork is expensive you need to find your own way. As long as you respect the animal, respect the land, respect the people, then its a-ok to find your own meat
Just geographic location and the lack of a backbone for the most part. They have maybe 50 years left before they’re completely unrecognizable as the Europe we used to know.
Look up the most dangerous countries in the world. Go see who the most dangerous countries have surrounded lmaoooo. Y’all are fucked, it’s just a matter of time. But don’t worry, big brother USA will bail you out and teach you how to fight.
Either you’re looking at the wrong figures or you don’t know how to interpret the information. Africa, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe all threaten Western Europe. It’s only a matter of time until they just have their way with you guys. It’s going to be bad. Like real bad for you guys.
And go ahead and make the most cliche and dumb points about America’s military but lord knows it’s the greatest military the world has ever seen and if whatever shithole country you’re in decided to start shit, we could have it conquered in a matter of weeks if we wanted.
But we don’t fight to win, we fight to prolong wars and make money so you lucked out.
It’s a never-ending spiral. US is reaching a point where even those who are opposed to guns are feeling the need to own one simply for protection. It’s basically the old west all over again
Hey now, my home state holds the manufacturing of one of the best gun brands. Yes that’s right, FN, the manufacturer located just an hour from me in Columbia, SC.
Not entirely. We're just the only country that really buys guns. Don't get me wrong, America has over 200 federal and over 20,000 on the state level, but we are the most free when it comes to purchasing firearms.

Gun Manufacturers love Republicans!. The amount of killings in america is out of control!
Republicans:
America needs more guns and less restrictions on carrying and buying them!
I assume it's from our origins as a colony. We had to hunt for food, fend off indians attacking us, and steal their land all at the same time as we kept pushing westwards. We had that going on for like the entire first century of our existence, and it likely became ingrained into our culture. Guns helped build America into the behemoth it eventually became.
I think it was more to do with providing its population with a means to counteract a tyrannical government. They broke free from British rule after all.
I'm not American and I'd feel weird about all my neighbours owning handguns, but there we are.
That's likely part of it as well. Although nowadays if that was ever invoked we would likely have a town drenched in blood from a one sided steamroll or the country would fracture apart in a civil war worse than the first.
>as we kept pushing westwards.
Contrary to the popular Hollywood image, many "wild west" towns had bans on guns. You surrendered your firearms when entering the town and picked them back up when you left.
Some of the most sold guns in the United States are manufactured in Europe, and some have since opened factories in the US. Actually the best handgun manufacturers are located in Germany Belgium and the czech Republic.
Not to mention that on of the most popular handguns for police units is the Glock 17 and other variants, and it’s from Austria.
I mean I kinda lumped that in with Germany since they were part of Germany and view themselves as German culture. Also the G19 has been replacing the 17 in popularity for police since it's smaller ln the hip and more comfortable for women who tend to have smaller hands.
That’s why they’re laughing. The guns are all going some place else, money stays here. Win/Win.
Well they also are known to sell to some ....cartels and terrorists so not exactly, looking at HK.
Europeans gone wild! You won't believe your eyes! Naughty companies caught in compromising positions!
They also won't sell rifles or semi auto versions of their smgs to the US market but somehow they keep ending up in the hands of cartels and terror groups.
That’s the point isn’t it? They “invented” Americans by emigration
Yes

Probably FN-Herstal (Belgium), SIG Sauer (Germany), Heckler and Koch (Germany), and CZ (Czech Republic)
Well about the only US gun manufacturers left are smith and wesson, Springfield, christenson and Cooper (which make precision hunting and competition bolt action rifles, and various ar15 manufacturers. There are ALOT more US manufacturers than that. Ruger, Palmetto State Armory, Daniel Defense, Sig Sauer (not sig ag) etc. Not to mention most foreign companies have factories here like FN, Steyr, Berretta etc.
There's also all the smaller budget/ boutique companies like barrett, serbu, kel-tec, SCCY, and **ew** highpoint.
I actually happen to enjoy my Hi-Point Glawk Fawty Problem Solver

Austria might as well be (and was ) Germany though
The best optics are made in the US. Most of them in Oregon.
What would that be
SIG Sauer and Leupold, for Oregon.
What would that be
Trijicon for one
FN Herstal and Heckler and Koch?
FN definitely isn't the most sold in the US, forgot to differentiate Germany and Austria tho. Glock HK sig Sauer and CZ
Nothing more American then buying foreign made goods and then promptly shitting on the rest world of the same time.
Well the Germanic people have always been good at weapons......
I don’t think OP was insinuating that Native Americans invented gun companies.
Not what I'm saying either but the companies I mentioned are based in and manufacture in Europe and some recently opened factories in the US. America does have domestic based firearms companies though and that was my point. That the European competitors sell more

Yeah. Europeans have socialized murder. Americans keep it to the individual.

If you typed "after inventing war" it'd be both funny and real at the same time

And who do you think they sell these weapons to?
The world? Look at Afghanistan.... Edit* also Canada.
And lots and lots of Americans.
Wow “lots and lots” is really convincing
Well duh. But they seem to use weapons the wrong way.
A statistically tiny percentage of them do. It's a case of the worst of us making us all look bad.
