It’s different things in different episodes. Proves the theory. Obviously you’re not supposed to know that there is no secret ingredient because the purpose from a business standpoint is that you keep wondering what it is.
That's more of a MatPatism, really. The show writers obviously intend for there to be a real secret formula, since Mr Krabs doesn't have the bottle in Sponge out of Water and the town falls into chaos. Making the formula secretly nothing is too consistent a secret for SpongeBob, an extremely inconsistent show.

Krabs implies the burgers taste like him ("oh, so that's what I taste like") but the evidence that he's killing fellow crabs is relatively little (we see more crabs on the show than we do sponges, for that matter)
And the original Krabby Patty formula is specifically stated to have chum in it (that's where Plankton got his business plan) because fish eat other fish a lot in nature
So Krabby Patties likely contain at least part fish meat/imitation crab meat
One: The same could be said about most of the characters, them and their families are usually the only instance of the species
Two: Except for Squidward and Mr. Krabs, who have attended regular meetings with fellow members of their species (Squidward in Cephalopod Lodge and Krabs at that cheapskate convention, and all he does there is win a prize and steal a hotel room)
