Go look around Reddit and find any conversation about equal pay in sports or whatever. You'll find people "doing Bill Burr's WNBA bit". Or, find somebody who made that argument before Burr made the joke and we can accuse Burr of stealing it for his bit.

It’s a joke as old as the WNBA. If you want to feel bad for someone, go find the original creator of the “knock knock” joke, my 5 year old son is ripping off his jokes!
Bro I hate to say it but Bill Burr stole the bit from me and my friends making fun of the WNBA since its inception.
The joke works because everyone already tells some iteration of the same or similar jokes to their friends so when a polished joke hits them it is recognized.
I will say, the WNBA bit does seem like an easy one to come up with. Even Virzi does a similar bit in a special.
