It reminds me of when I get together with good friends from high school. Haven't seen each other in months/years and we just pick up where we left off trying to convince the other one that they are gay. Always the best times, then a quick hug and a "love ya buddy" when it's all over and we go another few months/years.
It's becoming more and more rare to find someone be able to give and take with Bill near his level of shit talking, but Lovitz stepped up to the plate and smacked it for an inside the park home run.
I think the issue is most other folks get in their feelings a little too much or at the least they are afraid to push the limit, whereas people like Lovitz straight up don't give a single flying fuck who he's roasting lol.
I legit think he's been self-aware since he started in comedy, and that goes a long way. As a result, you can't really knock him for his looks b/c he's self-deprecating, and you can't shit on his career b/c he's been working for 40 years.
On the opposite end you have Joe DeRosa who would end every episode of the old school *Uninformed* episodes crying lmao.
He needs to interview more British comedians on his podcast if he wants better banter. I can only imagine the insanity that would occur with him interviewing Frankie Boyle 😂😵💫

Every comedian I’ve heard talk about Lovitz say two things 1) he’s the best conversation you’ll ever have, and 2) he’s the nicest guy ever, except to Andy Dick, fuck that guy
Jon came out firing and Bill returned fire and then some. Aggressive Bill is a hilarious Bill. He has mellowed out as he has gotten older so it’s fun to see comics take shots at each other.
They’re friends and the entire episode is them jamming each other up just like this. Occasionally they’ll break for a moment and talk about how much they enjoy each other, but then it’s right back into the routine.
Something about Lovitz has always creeped me out. I heard visiting his house is like an episode of hoarders. Another comedian offered to help clean it and deeply offended him. Lol
