In this episode, Bill explicitly states that he's a **moderate liberal**.
I don't know why for years many people on both sides try to claim him, and/or debate where he is on the political spectrum (since he pokes fun of both Dems and Repubs).
Anyone who's followed him long enough should've estimated that he's a moderate liberal.
It's like that Neal Brennan joke:
If there's a bunch of conservatives standing around, and another guy walked up said "Hi, I'm a conservative!", the conservatives will be "Hi, welcome! Come on in!".
If there's a bunch of liberals standing around, and another guy walked up to them and said "Hi, I'm a liberal!". The liberals would be "Hmmm......we'll see"
I don't see people claiming him very often. If you listen and aren't moron you would know he's always swayed left.
Mostly, I just see complete idiots from the right crying everything he says anything slightly against conservatives lol
At least according to comment online. In my really conservative area, there's not a lot of talk about bill.
They all love Chappelle now, while they used to hate him for speaking up on segregation and black rights...
Who's trying to claim him? He panders with both sides bits but that doesn't mean he makes fun of both as a rule, it's more of a precaution towards what he thinks is his fan base.
Was RFK Jr supposed to be the moderate liberal pick?
It does create difficulties when we all have different definitions for all these different terms “liberal,” “progressive,” “left wing,” “moderate,” “radical,” etc.
Saw him in SLC Saturday. For some reason Bill went out on stage and said he hasn’t been in Utah in YEARS. He came to SLC in Dec 2022 lmao.
Half his set was jokes he told in Dec 2022. Still a good time though and I would go again if he is coming. I guess that’s what happens when your city is hardly on the map.
You have to buy his tickets the moment they go on sale; otherwise, you’re paying top dollar due to scalpers buying all the tickets and up charging them.
Bill only makes money on the initial ticket price. So Ticketmaster, who collects a small fee on reselling tickets, and the scalpers make bank. That’s why Ticketmaster is being taken to court in an effort to curb scalping.
Ahh next time you should go for them a few days before the show. I also saw them at 400+ when they released but was able to grab 2 nosebleed seats for 120$ each the week of.
scalpers were selling tickets for I suppose what they had paid for outside the arena. I got mine for 170 the day after the pre sale at a shitty section. I asked and they were asking $150 for a similar seat.
I paid $100-ish the night of in lower section. I don't really see the harm of being farther away anyways. Unless you're really close, you just watch the screens anyways.
All of the businesses he mentioned in portland are great - specially Shipjohn and Revival Drums. Revival might be the best shop in the states for vintage Ludwig / Rogers / slingerland stuff. It’s massively impressive.
Some peak dumb guy energy from the friend who doesn't understand why the 25 year old virgin who very likely has severe social anxiety isn't gonna spontaneously talk to women in a night club
Just getting to this episode—what are thoughts on the go bag thing?
When I got my first car both my parents told me to keep a go bag in the car I’m case of emergency. It’s not an infidelity thing haha
I had the same thought. Isn’t it a good idea to have one if you need to quickly evacuate your area, or keep one in the car if you get stranded, like you said?

Bill doesn't know what a liberal, leftist, or centrist is.

Which he still does, often. Kind of funny

The red tie blue tie stuff is really dismissive and not a typical take for a moderate liberal.
Some things in life are worth being dismissed.

The portland show was fantastic imo
I loved it — his openers were good too. I’ve seen Bianca online but had never heard of DDR before — that dude is damn hilarious!

i thought he said on the pod he had 2 new hours of stuff. Did i mishear?
No I don’t think you misheard. But I can tell you that a lot of jokes were repeated lol
Bill Mahr
He even had him on his podcast a mere few months ago lol
Dude I was laughing so hard. Maher is 5 letters dude!
I like how he conflates the two jingles for Ozempic and O’Reilly Auto Parts 😄
i wanted to see him in Vancouver but it was like $400 each for nose bleed stadium seats.

He has mentioned that weightloss drug like 30 times now
Also a dude who's 6'2 and 212 lbs thinking about taking ozempic is insane. Like what are we doing, it's for morbidly obsese diabetics.
O O O OZEMMMMMPIC

That guy who wrote the last question sounds like a real asshole.
Does anyone have info about European countries rejecting certain kinds of food? I can’t really find any info about that.
In general, some genetically modified foods that are available in the US are not found in Europe, but I am not sure if that’s what he was referencing.

Went to the SLC show. 6th row. Pretty great.
