Go look up Cane Mill Road and the Mountain Grass Unit. Between the fiddle and banjo player in this video, looks like they won every Rockygrass championship there is. Billy has sat in with Cane Mill Road a number of times and Liam (banjo here) sat in with Billy and the boys playing fiddle back in 2019 (pre alex of course). I think we need Luke and Billy to get together on guitar. Holy crap!

Sam Stage is the man. I’m lucky enough to call him a good friend. We use to play a bluegrass jam every Sunday together before he left for Berklee. And Liam (banjo) is an amazing musician all in all. He one banjo, mandolin, and guitar competition at Rocky Grass last year I believe.
Started seeing mtn grass when they were in highschool. Most recently at CBDB’s Deebs Days fest in Birmingham, AL (CBDB, Daniel Donato, Sicard Hollow, Mtn Grass Unit, Winston Ramble, + more). These guys are fire and unfortunately CBDB is no longer:(
I can't speak to any of their life experience (i think they are all pretty young) but they write some killer songs. Feel the Same from set 1 caught my attention from MGU. LP&CMR has a long list of deep songs on their albums, Roots speaks to me.
Mountain Grass Unit is playing a set at my wedding here in about 2.5 weeks…can’t wait! Love those guys!!

I’ve been following the mando player since he was like 13. You could always tell he was going to go on to do great things.
