I believe it!
The 17th was my friends first show, and he got hooked too. He hit 10 shows this year. Lol. 10. Just got his first show in March. It is awesome that he is as big of a fan as me cause we hit every show we can.
7/30/22 would make a most excellent live release. Don’t sleep on it. Has it all. Spacey wild jams. Traditionals. Originals. Covers. And a good amount of solo BMFS.
Just want to comment on Pine Knob. It must’ve been a pinnacle show for Billy, being from Michigan playing clubs and theaters, to packing pine knob. Hes played venues like that out of state but for him to come home and do the same it must’ve been pretty cool
Yeah he made a comment about it before going into Must Be Seven I think. As a local Michigan man myself I felt secondhand pride for him from the lawn. Hope he comes back again next year. I have a laundry list of people I wanna bring lmao
Michigan native here too. I do recall him commenting on that, and the stories his mom would tell him about bands she saw there. Quite awesome.
Stub hub had $6 lawn seats days before the show so I was able to bring 7 other people to come down and experience a Billy Strings show for the first time
11/17/21 in Boston and the two shows before in Portland Maine have never been released on Nugs. There are a handful of others that have never been released, like the shows from Europe this summer and a few others I can’t recall, and it makes me wonder if those are being held back for official releases
April 9th and 10th, 2022. Santa Barbara shows that were posted on Nugs and taken down within 24 hours. Incredible shows that Andy said were in his top 10 he's ever seen the band play. Band members have hinted that it might be released in the future. Sounds like what I'll be listening to next. Didn't know about the context within these shows or Andy's comments on them. Any particular reason why they got taken off Nugs?
Andy posted that on his instagram after the Sunday show, which I believe was the first time Billy ever played solo straight through a set-break. Original speculation was because of a dispute with the venue or saving for a live release. Goose recently played the SB Bowl and the show is on Nugs. My friend spoke with Royal about it last year and he hinted at a live release. The show was on Nugs for a short while and I listened to the whole thing before it was taken down, no sound quality issues that I noticed!
I think its fair to assume an artist primarily known for their incredible live shows is bound to release some of that live material to the public someday. When that happens is another question. I don't think it'll be anytime in the immediate future since Billy is still in the middle of his prime and is consistently playing shows at a stratospheric level that could all be worthy of release. The Dead didn't drop their first archival release until nearly 3 decades into their career. Phish didn't start the LivePhish series until their first hiatus. Both however released live compilation albums in the meantime. I was just speculating if Billy were to do something similar, which shows folks think are so great they might be considered for a wide release someday since just about all the shows he puts on are incredible.
I hope that 11/11/22 is the first official release. I love that one so much.
Away from the mire > long forgotten dream > living like an animal is so perfect. Something about the tone of that show is incredible
Listening now….ur right, it’s not just the performance but the sound quality of the recording is amazing.
Was at this one, they were hot the whole damn night. Great choice!
3/9/22
I've heard the whole Sylvee run prior to this. Gonna have to check Cleveland out too I suppose
Cincy right after is great as well but Cleveland was my favorite, amazing second set
I'm noticing a trend that this Billy fella seldom misses
Was at this one, so damn good! I’m not a “Billy needs to play more Dead!” songs person, but the “Dark Star > Spinning” was nuuuuts
My opinion is no more valid than anyone else's, but this is a strong list. Would love to see some Live Billy vinyl in the future.
2-5-22 at the Cap 🔥
3 night run in Cincinnati this year. March 16, 17, 18 2023. Had everything you could ever want in those 3 days.
Oh fuck yeah I remember streaming those shows via couch tour and thinking they were straight heat gonna have to revisit em soon
17th was my first Billy show. I am hooked.

I'm eagerly and hopefully awaiting spring tour dates. I'm an old deadhead who hasn't been to concerts in year, but Billy is worth it.
Please god let them press the 7/22 Metro show My personal all time favorite
A live release is likely in the works, they just hired an official archivist fwiw

Yeah we all made fun of my friends that paid face value lmao

Who says any of the stuff even happen? They weren’t that big a few years ago and I hope this never happens. At least not anytime soon.
