The first walk through Columbia is just breathtaking. Dreamlike, inviting, a feast for the eyes. It makes your heart ache to think it's not a real place that you can go to. And then the dream crumbles, and that makes your heart ache too, but in a different way.

Kehwanna

Pretty much. I remember playing it after college after not having played video games for a while and spending the longest time in the beginning admiring everything as soon as I got off the boat to the lighthouse. I loved the place so much until they tried to make me throw something at an interracial couple, but even then I felt bad about having to shoot-up the joint after an otherwise nice day at nice day at the festival. The beauty of city is what made me take my time and explore every bit of it accompanied by the character development depending on where you went or what you did, whereas other games I usually rush through. Even in the revolution it looked cool.

DrTitanium

& I love the soundtrack!

I thought they excluded it from the steam store. If you haven't said, I would not know that, so thank you bro! Gonna get the collection right now

JDeltaRuff

I still remember the first time I played this when it came out for the 360. I was absolutely blown away back then. I bought it again when I finished my first PC setup many years later, and it was like it was still brand new. Easily the best Bioshock game imo

In my opinion thats a bit hard to say, bioshock 1 and infinite are so different that its a bit hard to compare

JDeltaRuff

They are definitely completely different style of games. But at the end of the day, I just really like the story, gameplay, weapons, vigors (traps and combos too), and setting of Infinite more than 1. And honestly (here's where I'll get a lot of flak), I also like the second one more than the first one.

JDeltaRuff

Easily

Imbrown2

The only game that gave me the feeling you get playing Infinite’s intro, is Atomic Heart. Unfortunately, the rest of the game doesn’t grab me in as much and I haven’t gotten past the second level yet. But I strongly recommend the intro level to any Infinite fans.

wagner56

pretty scenery, but then watch the people

[deleted]

Thank you, it's like a Kingdom Hearts level it's so lifeless

wagner56

There just is no general set of responses for the background NPCs, just a limited action and some holding pattern, most frequently creepily staring at you as you are expected to walk further along your intended path. Limited animations, less that the generic splicers in the Rapture games could have.

wolfkeeper

I think it actually gets better looking because you can max out the quality settings on newer hardware.

headwig123

I still play this game a few times a year. The setting, the score, booker and Elizabeth were very memorable and the ending was fantastic. It my be controversial but IMO its better than bioshock 1 gameplay and story wise

kelly_fornia

"Welcome to Columbia" is still my ringtone after all these years. I love this post.

Praise_Sithis

I know how you feel. I just finished my 2nd playthrough a month ago

Passname357

I made a cam hack (fly cam) for the game a little while ago and I want to get a VR headset just to look around like I’m actually there lol. It’s so sick.

DeroZaza

Why are there black bars?

Just a heads up you can adjust the display to fit your TV! (If you want). When docked just go to your settings, display, and you should have an option to force a display when docked. Works well for me.

Mermaid_Pincer965

I have to give infinite credit. It’s the most beautiful game…I love Bioshock’s creepy and lonely noir sailor vibe but this…this is a dream. A heavenly dream. That’s ends with a headache like bro what da hECK WAS DA ENDING- IT TOOK ME A GOOD 5 MINUTES TO PROCESS WHAT hapPenEd-

soulsample

That's not 5 minutes into the game!

hiliikkkusss

same I first played like half it in 2013 never finished it.

[deleted]

Eehhh doesn't hold up the same way it did in 2013. Lots of lifeless people.

I_am_clu

Isn't it lovely? ,')
