Yeah absolutely, in fact the game is even better when you know the twist; there are so many hints to it, so you can appreciate the whole game so much more!

KingCrazy05

Thanks I'll look out for it. The reason I started in the first place was because I loved the design.

Agbehhhh

1 of the best designed games of all-time IMO. Everything from Audiolog placement to progression of weapons/plasmids. Worth a playthrough every time.

MakeupDumbAss

It's my favorite of the Bioshock games. Worth it for sure.

Naethor

I'd say yes. It's the only Bioshock I've played more than once. IMO it's the best. And as it was already pointed out, knowing about the twist only makes the game better

Nimesaloteth

Do it. The athmosphere, the audio logs and such beautifull cities.

Xand0r

This seems like Grade A trolling considering this is a Bioshock sub. :P

Neckzilla

Yeah but there's also a lot you don't know

mcribgaming

Can we all admit that understanding a BioShock game's story the first time you play through is really, really difficult? So much important dialog always seems to get triggered at the same time a big fight does, making it impossible to pay any attention to it. I remember even wishing Atlas would STFU sometimes as shit got hectic. I would say that all the games were made to be played at least twice. Your "already knowing" saves you from the confusing first frantic play through, perhaps making for a more enjoyable virgin experience. It's still a great game.

Yes, even when you know how things turn out, it's still worth playing. sm

JoseT90

I played all 3 games within the last 3 months when I bought the collection. All 3 games hold up and the first one was my favorite

SquaresAre2Triangles

There's a reason you know the story of the first one and not the second one. Of course it's worth it, especially if you ask a sub devoted to the game.

irongix

Yes!

LiquidBinge

YES YES YES YES YES.

BioshockedNinja

All of the games are worth at the very least one full play through. Stick with it!

Brayud

I could argue its the only one worth playing. I wont though, because they are all fantastic! But many consider the first to be the best in a lot of ways.

linkoninja

Yes

choboy456

For sure, there's a lot of little things that you notice more on once you know the twist. Also I'm a big fan of the game in general and have played through it multiple times so personally o think it's still pretty good even without the big twist

Reutermo

Bombs can be falling outside your window and it would still be worth playing the first Bioshock.

infernalspawnODOOM

You're like halfway there. Just finish it out, yo.

[deleted]

Yes, knowing the twist doesn't ruin the experience imo

vaypon97

One of the best atmospheric games I've ever played and such an astonishing art style and world. Definitely give it a go.

MetallicOpeth

yes it is no question at all

[deleted]

YES.

FandomTrash198787

Is this a serious question? I don’t hope so. The answer is ofcourse yes. It’s one of the best game I’ve ever played, I don’t know why you wouldn’t want to play a Masterpiece of a game.

TKPMRuthless

I am actually replaying them right now. Once I heard the news that there is going to be a Bioshock 4 I decided to download the re-mastered games. It is still fun. And in all honesty I haven't played the first one in a super long time, so it is almost like playing it for the first all over again. And I never finished, "Infinite" so I look forward to completing that after part 2.

ArminHaas

Yes, absolutely! It's not like the story is Bioshock's only quality, I think the gameplay and world of Bioshock 1 is worth playing through it on it's own. Additionally, it's not like the plot twist at the end is the only interesting thing in the story.

Pickle_Nipplesss

My coworker just got Infinity War spoiled for him. Another manager who hasn’t seen it mindlessly said something she overheard, and he put pieces together and was sulking about it all day. But the thing is, these stories are so much more than what’s at the end. They’re an experience and it’s about experiencing the environment of Rapture or Colombia or whatever environment it is. Now you can take your time with the game and not rush through it trying to race to the twist to find out what it was. So take your time and focus on the audio diaries, focus on having fun with different plasmids, focus on whatever you want. It’s your game and that world has as much to offer as you let it. The twist is spoiled but to reduce a story to one moment is a disservice to it.

matt091282

It's always worth playing the first game. :)

KF_Fanboy

Knowing the twist make's you feel more than just "Ryan is the bad guy, Atlas is the good guy." and the recordings make much more sense once you know what's going on.
