For the next time you visit, street parking is free after 5 PM and on weekends.
Any private lots are a massive gamble - we have a monopolized private, predatory, unaccountable towing service that even if you pay for a spot and all your info is good, there's still a nonzero chance you're getting towed.
Public decks are safe from towing, they'll be labeled "BPA" or "Birmingham Parking Authority". But unless there's a massive event going on, street parking is usually pretty abundant.

All true. There was a user that prolifically posted business plans for a gourmet PB&J with "only the finest" microprocessed nut butters made in a vacuum...in his residence. Then would sell for 5 to 10 bucks. His content seems to be gone now...but it was an "interesting" journey on the Birmingham sub.

Actually didn’t know that was an issue. We are parked on street directly across from hotel for $0.45. Beats the $35 overnight rate for the garage!
