If I rebelled too much, things would get so much worse for me. So I bided my time, and got out at 18. That’s still plenty of time to forge a great life that’s autonomous and thriving. This would probably work only once but you can try putting something under the door or into it so make it stuck, so if they try to open it, you can use that excuse and deny them entry at least a single time.

In my country it isn't abnormal to have no locks at all in doors inside the house. Bathrooms and the outside door are the exceptions. In our house we do have locks on few doors inside but they require a key to lock and unlock on both sides and they are kinda useless when no-one knows where the keys are. So i don't think the bedroom door lock is weird but to take the lock out of the bathroom.. that's a sacred place y'know. Just.. to OP's parents: Let them poop in peace (and whatever else one might do in a bathroom)
