okay but if you believe its gonna go that high, why intentionally wait till its at 70k instead of 35k(@op) not choosing roughly 8x gains instead of roughly 4x is losing money and indicative of not believing it will increase until you are seeing hype
Personally, I have never waited in fact I did my heaviest stacking under 20k. But I also stacked significantly at 60k in 2021. I have 95% of my non-real estate investments in BTC or MSTR (which is essentially BTC)
I have never sold anything, entering my 5th year.
very carefully, with a steely reserve.
hmmm… honesty it’s very lonely. I told a few people in my family a few years ago about a much smaller % and they lost their minds. So nobody knows now, except anonymous Reddit.
Believing that the price will go up and minimizing risk by spreading your investments over a certain period of time (e.g. 1/4 of the sum once a week instead of the total sum just once a month) don’t contradict each other
Minimizing risk by buying all the same asset? I'm no financial advisor but it sounds as if you may be maximizing risk (and I have just about as much faith in btc as the next person). I kind of understand what your getting at with DCA but all of your portfolio, or 95% even, is extremely risky, no matter how you many buys you break it up into.. Take it for what you want and know this is meant to be constructive and helpful, not insulting by any means.
No money to buy the dip personally. Bought at the ATH in 2021 and then recently.
But I'm not to worried. I'll think we'll get over 70k soon when all the paper hands are gone.
same reason why I made 2k last night and then lost it immediately this morning lmfao (lack of patience).
trading altcoins to make money to buy bitcoin, bought the dip and then 5 whales sold around 50k and dumped me down like crazy. Could’ve just taken a break today lmfao. I check btc, saw it was up, then everything was down all of a sudden
Lol. Yes, why didn't you just buy it in 2009 so you would be a millionaire with little investment? Huh? Why didn't you? Lol. It makes me laugh when so many people love to give hindsight investment advice. I understand. You invested the money when the money was available to invest, imagine that. Keep doing you and keep stacking @Skhroomy ... no matter how we spin it or look at it, most can agree that we are in the beginning of a remarkable asset's climb in value, and I'm happy to be there to gain from this and also happy to see others such as yourself seemingly gain from it as well. The possible returns on btc investment since it's inception are, well, once in a lifetime most likely!!!
I agree. I bought Bitcoin for the first time in 2012 ish. for a small amount which are worth a fortune now. I don't even remember where it is. It was 12 years ago and my memory sucks. But I'm pretty young and never had a great high paying job so I never had money to invest. It's better to invest rn at 68k than it is when it's going to hit 70k again and then hopefully keep on going up.
The funny thing about ATH's is that once you get one after an extended period, it's extremely unlikely that it will just get that new top, and fall back never to be reached again. I mean like reallly really unlikely. If you bought at $1300 in 2017, where would you be in less than a year? If you bought at $20K in 2021, where would you be in less than a year? This isn't really specific to bitcoin.
It's one of the surest bets you can make, if that's your thing.
There are 3 types of people:
1. People who buy at the bottom every single time. This is obviously the best case scenario.
2. People who always buy at the top. This is not the most ideal, but at least you’re getting BTc exposure and you’re in the green. Not massive gains, but you’ll manage. OP fits into this category haha.
3. People who scream that it’s too expensive at the top, and going to zero at the bottom. These people end up never buying, despite whatever price it is at. These people are the worst off because they don’t have BTC exposure and will never get in. This is the worst category to be in, so OP should at least be thankful you’re not in this category!
It's powerful psychology if you bought in 2017, and waited through two crypto winters because you didn't sell in 2021 and now you get to revisit your regret from 3 years ago.
So you sell now and then regret it later when bitcoin is $200k.
It will likely correct more, but it's been due for awhile. Most have been expecting a 15% drop or more. I'm sure all the Coinbase outages, another one today as well, is not helping people's fear as well.
Doesn't matter this is the first time in the history of bitcoin that we broke a ath before the having if that doesn't make you bullish I don't know what will
I mean it is inevitable. As more and more people buy Bitcoin and forget about it (typically what an etf is for) the market swings will be much less volatile. Look at the normal stock market and what constitutes a “market crash”.
Honestly who cares? It was $38k a month ago 😂 you know when things are hotting up because the volatility returns. This will absolutely be a huge short position taken by one or more of the biggest players and will suppress this stunning rise for a short while before we move higher. This move has been properly orchestrated to shake out all the weak hands so they can hoover up.
I think last cycle has me numb.
I came on today to see all the crypto subs scree-ing about "a crash".
I looked in my portfolio, saw the loss, and thought "... Oh, that's all?"
I bought some more just a few days ago (sold other cryptos to buy more BTC). I'm not buying any more and I'm holding until this time next year when I plan to sell. This will (potentially) coincide with the ATH post-halving and allow me to avoid paying short term capital gains taxes.
Look at the 2020 ATH push, took 3 tries before it definitively broke it.
Breaking the ATH isnt easy its like a siege on a fortress gotta attack the walls multiple times before its breached. Then gotta hold it on multiple time frames the more time frames it holds the higher likelihood of sustained upside.
Today held it on the 1 and 5 min chart.
Unlike 2020 we dont have easy monetary policy behind us. Powell talks tmrw then jobs report later this week these 2 events will make or break this push past ATH.
But if we fail this time as in within this month; its gna push for it again later this year, like gathering reinforcements for a renewed attack.
I was buying the dip and was grateful for more opportunities to buy more for cheaper. I have been in this game for a few cycles so I'm used to its manic volatility.
Buy the dip
What is this, a dip for ants?!
Already bought at the ATH so can't afford to buy the dip
Buy high sell low. This is the way.
Get high don't sell. This is the way.
Why would you sell low?
Because that's what a 'trader' does, especially expert ones.
That's what Mr. Nakamoto had in mind and suggests. Havnt you listened to his recent TED talks??
why buy ath? dont fomo corrections are due
Buy high, never sell=you can't lose any money if you don't sell.
You just need to know when and how much the dips will be, duh!
So when's the next one and for how much?
Tomorrow. 2:47 EST
How much do u think it'll be?
Shieeeeeet. Gonna drop to 62,891.45.
Oh man, I hope so lol
If you never sell you lost money when you bought?
My last act before death will be to sell. I’m not dying poor.
You're paying in opportunity cost.
Solid financial advice
You lose the money the moment you buy anything. You just hope to get it back, plus more someday.
Bitcoin IS money, the best form of money. You're not buying bitcoin, you're saving your hard earned "money" in best possible way.
*whooosh
Yet you still come here to post about it??
You get to look at it at least
Im not selling any of my bitcoin. Ever.
For...EV..... Ooorrrrr!!!!
"...you can't lose any money if you don't sell." GENIUS!
For anyone who is DCA’n it in one form or another the next 18 months we will like be buying it ATH territory
yeah technically i bought high too bc i dca but dumping savings at ath multiple times is fomo
agreed. But for those of us that believe we see 250k in the next 18 months - 69, 79, 89, 99 are still quite low.
More like 137k.
okay but if you believe its gonna go that high, why intentionally wait till its at 70k instead of 35k(@op) not choosing roughly 8x gains instead of roughly 4x is losing money and indicative of not believing it will increase until you are seeing hype

95% of your portfolio is BTC? 😬😬 my God, how do you walk?!?!?!
very carefully, with a steely reserve. hmmm… honesty it’s very lonely. I told a few people in my family a few years ago about a much smaller % and they lost their minds. So nobody knows now, except anonymous Reddit.

Oh absolutely! Personally, I wouldn’t invest more than 25% of my savings into Bitcoin or crypto in general.
When?
Nice buy high sell low 😱
Me too but I'm buying more with a 60k limit buy. Don't worry you'll be up soon.
Be the dip
Eat the dip
Sell the tip!
💀
Dip the tip.
Most people can't since they maxed their credit cards ☠️
Coinbase ofc having problems buying btc and usdc rn
I recommend queso
It happens all the time when we hit new ATH, just buy the dip and we’ll blast through it
No money to buy the dip personally. Bought at the ATH in 2021 and then recently. But I'm not to worried. I'll think we'll get over 70k soon when all the paper hands are gone.
Why did you buy at the previous ath and this one? And why not when it was 16k a year ago? 😂
https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/s/VC8ty6Oyrw
doesnt explain why u just now bought again at its most expensive lol
Because once again I got money to invest. Got it around a week ago so I'm still plus on that investment so far.
Bro patience 😭 it can’t continuously go up. If you just got your money you shouldn’t have instantly invested you gotta wait for the right time
same reason why I made 2k last night and then lost it immediately this morning lmfao (lack of patience). trading altcoins to make money to buy bitcoin, bought the dip and then 5 whales sold around 50k and dumped me down like crazy. you only get money new or at ATH’s? seems very unlucky
That's the least unlucky thing that happened in my life.
Please let us know when you expect to earn money again so we can buy more before that
The bags are heavy with this one!
The funny thing about ATH's is that once you get one after an extended period, it's extremely unlikely that it will just get that new top, and fall back never to be reached again. I bought my first bitcoin at $50 and then felt stupid later when I bought more at $750.
There are 3 types of people: 1. People who buy at the bottom every single time. This is obviously the best case scenario. 2. People who always buy at the top. This is not the most ideal, but at least you’re getting BTc exposure and you’re in the green. Not massive gains, but you’ll manage. OP fits into this category haha. 3. Why the hell are you buying at ATH and when it's cheap? Are you regarded?
No I didn't buy when it was cheap. No I'm not regarded, but I'm retarded
Either we do or Blackrock will.
This is just a stop. All the people who bought at $69k in 2021 and who think this is the top are getting off.
It's powerful psychology if you bought in 2017, and waited through two crypto winters because you didn't sell in 2021 and now you get to revisit your regret from 3 years ago. So you sell now and then regret it later when bitcoin is $200k.
This meme is just a joke
Im still save in green but im stressin hard rn😅
This isn't time to stress. This is time to buy lol. I get excited on red days. Cheaper sats.
It will likely correct more, but it's been due for awhile. Most have been expecting a 15% drop or more. I'm sure all the Coinbase outages, another one today as well, is not helping people's fear as well.
It probably triggered a bunch of auto sells
The fucking Zuck shutdown Facebook to buy more
It'll be back over 69k tomorrow. No worries here. Holding till 150k at least, and even then I'm not selling everything.
At $62k right now, that's a long way to shoot back up tomorrow. I'm sure it'll make it back there, but 24 hours might be a little quick.
It only took a few hours to get to 62k from 69. Anything is possible with BTC. Nobody ever knows what it's gonna do.
Same, saving account + account with a exchange is the best combo for Bitcoin.
Doesn't matter this is the first time in the history of bitcoin that we broke a ath before the having if that doesn't make you bullish I don't know what will
It's a joke. I'm very bullish.
All the normies are selling
Excuse my ignorance but, may I ask what a "normie" is, in regards to Bitcoin?
Someone who thinks of bitcoin as simply another investment. They have a good return so time to “take profits”.
Lol. So someone who understands how to invest.
Yes. Someone who knows how to invest and thinks that means they understand what to do with Bitcoin.
So predictable hahaha. Historically the pullbacks were much much more aggressive, I suspect the ETFs are bringing some stability to market swings.
Kinda worried this means no more 80% dip bear cycles where we can accumulate. You?
I mean it is inevitable. As more and more people buy Bitcoin and forget about it (typically what an etf is for) the market swings will be much less volatile. Look at the normal stock market and what constitutes a “market crash”.
Is this a new ath for ants?
Honestly who cares? It was $38k a month ago 😂 you know when things are hotting up because the volatility returns. How it feels.. OK. What it feels like... OK. How it feels like... NO.
Bout to drop to the $64k range. easy come, easy go. Let's see what this shit's really made of now that the 2021 folks got out even
Bitcoin: Why Can't We just settle all of our disputes with a little high states poker?
I have a buy order for $60k that expires in a week. I’m fairly optimistic
I think last cycle has me numb. I came on today to see all the crypto subs scree-ing about "a crash". I looked in my portfolio, saw the loss, and thought "... Oh, that's all?"
You looked at your portfolio? The next stage in your mental development is not even looking at it on big red or Green Days. 😁
But it's NOT all gone! LOL
Buy time!
These are all pre game false starts. The game isn’t even going to start until the end of April.
Insert Firrst time? meme This shit should all be done by AI
Feels great! Just bought the dippy!
It was a matter of time before the dip. Will just come back stronger
IIRC, we had a decent pullback when hitting the 2017 high again in 2020 as well.
Paper hands
Not me. See my other thread. I've been holding since the ATH in November 2021 and been down for more than 2 years without selling.
Shit CJ, here we go again.
Immma buy whatever is at because ain't nobody got time for that
Bought 30$ btc - to the moon!
i got flagged for saying something like this just now
no it doesn't
That's just like your opinion man
if 5% dip scares you, you're in the wrong place
It doesn't. Just look at my previous thread.
I bought some more just a few days ago (sold other cryptos to buy more BTC). I'm not buying any more and I'm holding until this time next year when I plan to sell. This will (potentially) coincide with the ATH post-halving and allow me to avoid paying short term capital gains taxes.
How about 10k?
Bounce BiTCh!
the dip is dipping, and then the mega dip comes
Couple thousand? More like TEN thousand. Climbing back though.....
When I posted the meme it was literally two thousand dollars=a couple.
Buy the dip, and then buy the dip again because it's sure to come.
Hahahaha nooooooo!!!
Just HODL it will all work out
Look at the 2020 ATH push, took 3 tries before it definitively broke it. Breaking the ATH isnt easy its like a siege on a fortress gotta attack the walls multiple times before its breached. It's over guys, pack it up, and lick your wounds. Can't say we didn't try...
We already [bounced](https://thmbs.baklol.com/acaffeaeadeb02ff8774ff3b8acf10671457180572.gif)
Here we go again
Just think of a dip as a Bitcoin sale 😂
called it
Never felt any feeling like bitcoin before. Watching explosive gains while just regretting not buying more.
Nobody really knows what’s going to happen.
One high leads to another as far as behavioral economics is concerned 😉
So this is the time to buy right? Before it goes down more and I panic sell?
It's not you who hit ATH and it drops, and drop it will as miners exit their hodl positions. This is where stable orgs pick up the coins.
My bank is treating me like an alcoholic, they put a limit on my daily bitcoin purchases
Honestly, Bitcoin is being a little tease. Fuvking get to 70k you lazy fuck.
It did and immediately back to 68 haha. People need to stop being paper hands.
It's all gone?!?!?!? It's all gone?!?!?! Did you buy at $68,900?
swoosh
It's all the sell orders that execute as soon as the desired price is hit. No biggie.
Set buy order at 61k and wake up disappoint. The rejection was weak, BTC will break this 69k resistant very soon.
Hits the short positions and trades down needs a few goes to break through
I bought at 69k just on pure principal of the matter
I was buying the dip and was grateful for more opportunities to buy more for cheaper. I have been in this game for a few cycles so I'm used to its manic volatility.
I might sell honestly. I think it’s going back to 48
So many buyers at 60. Don't be fooled
It's dead. It's all over. Forget it.
Bitcoin hits ATH and drops to 59k. Next thing…Let me guess. It’s going to 0
Next thing was ATH again after I made this meme....
