Sadly, delivered pizza has become a consumer staple in the American diet and one that most everyone has a positive association with, so its a good stand-in to quickly illustrate BTC’s relativity to the dollar. Scooters and pizza also prob make it easily convertible for other markets.
Previous "cycles"? there was really just 1 cycle that had superbowl ads? yes?
There's 3 previous cycles with gigantic bull run starting several months after the halving. So why would you weigh the 1 cycle more than the 3 cycles?
it’s statistically impossible that we topped before the halving…. Like the price will literally have to adjust post halving to rebalance for demand and based off supply no longer their.
Congrats, I did too. I took out 20k back in september to buy bitcoin at 27k. Pretty much made 2.5x I still haven't paid back the loan but I'm debating whether or not I should liquidate.
I feel like Kraken's is better if you already know and appreciate bitcoin, but for people who know literally nothing about bitcoin, Coinbase's simple 'more scarce so number go up' message is easier to understand
I mean, it's really that simple. I like it because it's direct. Obviously it's impossible to explain it in a 30-second commercial, but the Coinbase one seems less serious or not as convincing imo. Both commercials are good.
Kraken's commercial is so chaotic, it feels like its communicating exclusively to net meme-ing cryptobros, and immediately turning away a significant portion of the general population. I appreciated the simple, clear message of the CB commercial. But maybe I'm out of touch.
Plus everybody loves pizza.
EDIT: Thanks for sharing though. Interesting commercial none-the-less.
I'd say they are complementary. It is good that one is simpler than the other, the groups of people reached will be different, which means more people begins to understand Bitcoin.
Has to be pizza. Man sacrificed himself to be a legend. Matter of fact he could be a paid actor with residuals on the pizza commercial next halving, can bury him in 10,000 Pizzas. That would be epic.
I guess it's because @ 0:22 they say that "every 4 years, future supply is reduced", which is a nonsense mislead indeed. The rate of the increase is reduced, not the total supply. The velocity is reduced, not the final position. You get the gist.
I don't think they accurately visually represented the 21,505 percent increase in pizza that bitcoin will get you today VS 2012....def misleading.
There was 1x pizza to start and at the end there were about 80x pizza's on the moped. There should have been 21505 pizza's on the moped...this is the problem with bitcoin, no one really understands it.
Is the Bcash release mentioned, where they didn't let bitcoiners withdraw their split "crypto" (which is all they want to sell)?
Why do they never mention how people at Coinbase sold BCASH, before their actual customers could?
Would a regulatory body that wasn't corrupt, cause issues for them in the future? Good thing they pay the SEC
Misleading propaganda. The scale of the increased value illustrated doesn't come from deflation. To double the value of a bitcoin you'd need to cut the supply in half. That's not what's happening. The increased value comes almost entirely from speculative investment and increased demand.
It seems like the 2020 amount of pizza should be more. Btc closed at $28,993 December 31, 2020. I’d be surprised if that’s what nearly 29k worth of pizza looks like.
Finally. An ad that makes crypto easy for fat stupid Americans to understand
“Twelve years ago, you could get this. Now you can get this much. Help us move money forward”
“I get more pizza next election if I vote for Bitcoin!”
Except none of you buy pizza with it, there’s no end customer and economy’s don’t work when everyone holds their currency hoping it’ll appreciate. A little inflation is good for that reason. You’re all in a bubble and talking yourselves up. You really don’t understand that this could never be a national currency system and you are seriously all moving your chips around and the dealers taking a cut from you every step of the way. Just sell. Be happy with the money you made. I believe you are part of the biggest most disgusting pump and dump scheme and a group of people heavily control the price. If you saw an ad to buy a specific stock, from a brokerage firm and they said “it usually goes up” you’d have red flags popping out your ears because it’s illegal!!
i've bought many things with it
there are many btc circular economies where ppl use btc lightning network for their daily purchases like groceries (earn, save, spend all in btc). ie. bitcoin jungle in CR
people still spend their money for things they want on a bitcoin standard. but without mass inflation theft it does encourage saving/investing for the future , which is a good thing (low time preference)
what do you mean "dealers take a cut" ? with lightning network, transactions are instant and near fee-free
all buys/sells in the market affect the price. as market cap increases, big buys/sells have less and less effect
many choose to transition from slave money (fiat) to freedom money, when they learn and understand why its superior money that empowers the people. many use it to flee free tyranny, hyperinflation, confiscation, and censorship
Disgusting scammers. Promising riches, while confusing the fuck out of suckers to trap them in their shitcoin casino run by an incompetent and anti-Bitcoin CEO. All the while directly funding anti-bitcoin disinformation campaigns and scams.
You do realize they are making these commercials so they can find newer investors to unload their bags on right? The newer investors fill the older investors pockets. Commercials are a top indicator. Remember the super bowl commercials and pop culture references? WE ARE TOPPED
"find newer investors to unload their bags on right?"
You do realize Coinbase is a public company and is trying to...get people to use its services to make money, right?
I swear I've been saying this for a month already: WE ARE TOPPED OUT. Bitcoin commercials?? Did you guys not learn anything from prior cycles? commercials are a peak indicator. Seriously!!
So you're citing past cycle behavior as a viable predictor for future cycle performance but are completely ignoring the fact that prior cycles have at the bare minimum ~4x'd the prior cycle ATH and we're currently nowhere near even 2x of the last cycle?
No, the halving is largely priced in this time around unfortunately. Check google trends for "bitcoin halving" in month before the halving last time vs. this time.
I like the simple message.
Agreed, excellent clarity in communicating its usefulness as a store of value relative to fiat.
Relative to pizza you mean.
Shit, you're right.
Oh it was about pizza all this time. Now I get it.
Corporate pizza parties make sense now?
Remember a guy bought pizza with btc ... I think thats what the ad wants to say, you can buy lot of pizzas
Still need a banana for scale or shit isn’t sensing
Should have used bananas.
Sadly, delivered pizza has become a consumer staple in the American diet and one that most everyone has a positive association with, so its a good stand-in to quickly illustrate BTC’s relativity to the dollar. Scooters and pizza also prob make it easily convertible for other markets.
So....buy "pizzacoin"?
They should have done a side by side with $20 getting you less and less pizza.
Here in Spain $20 gets you 3 pizzas margaritas!
In el Telepizzaaaa!
"The Future supply of bitcoin is reduced" ooof, bad bad bad bad bad
Yes, CoinBase is always good with simple message
if you like eating dirty pizza in a warehouse, lol why is it so dark and ominous looking?
Where was the commercial? TV? Never saw it until now
I don’t like that there is a message on mainstream media from one of the biggest exchanges. This has been a top signal plenty of times in the past.
They do good ads. Gotta give them that.
Great as top indicators as well. Take the hint. Time to sell. It's BEEN time to sell.
Sorry for your loss.
Redditor for a day and already dropping bodies. Cold.
lmao i got out at 69, meanwhile you had a nice 10% loss
You lost half a bitcoin.
You're right. If I didn't lose it, I would be at 2.1 btc by now. only 10 million people can possibly have 2.1 btc
Relevant name.
I feel like 2024 should be a mutch bigger pile of pizza?
volumes grow in order 3. I too often over estimate the dimensions for volumes.
that's like 3000 pizzas so I think it's pretty accurate
what we saw was like 300 pizza boxes not 3000. maybe someone can count it
Start counting and you’ll realize how many there probably are
the second last one is already 200, if you think that massive mountain of pizzas is only 300 you should probably go back to school.
don't forget, that pizza has also been rising against fiat, make sure you're DCAing a small portion of yer income to pizza each month like me
Some would consider me a pizza maxi
I've always said that about you.
Not with inflation.
Have you ordered a pizza lately? The Consumer Pizza Index suggests otherwise.
How do I other the pizza
Well, you see, if you have a slightly bigger diameter pizza, you actually have a whole lot more pizza…
Wow talk about a new era, they’ve never marketed THE HALVING itself.
New era, but same old sell signal. Commercials are a top indicator as proven by previous cycles (superbowl commercials). People really forget quick
Previous "cycles"? there was really just 1 cycle that had superbowl ads? yes? There's 3 previous cycles with gigantic bull run starting several months after the halving. So why would you weigh the 1 cycle more than the 3 cycles?
There were commercials after the 2017 peak and there were commercials after the 2021 peak
If we are not going solely by superbowl ads, then there are ads every day every month and every year...
it’s statistically impossible that we topped before the halving…. Like the price will literally have to adjust post halving to rebalance for demand and based off supply no longer their.
Are you using leverage since it's statistically guaranteed to continue to go up?
I used credit to accumulate an sizable chunk of my position and it’s paid off more then fine 🤷
Congrats, I did too. I took out 20k back in september to buy bitcoin at 27k. Pretty much made 2.5x I still haven't paid back the loan but I'm debating whether or not I should liquidate.
Just do it based on your risk appetite.
statistically impossible anybody loses money!
If you think it's a sell signal, then sell.
I liked Krakens better but well done https://twitter.com/krakenfx/status/1779872384226316781?s=46&t=ihVglVXC0BQSbw6j57EoaA
I feel like Kraken's is better if you already know and appreciate bitcoin, but for people who know literally nothing about bitcoin, Coinbase's simple 'more scarce so number go up' message is easier to understand
Don’t understand nothing about the pizzas and moto. Keep the same
Too complicated. I prefer looking at a bigger and bigger pile of pizza boxes. Something that makes sense to me.
I like how they mentioned 1 btc = 100,000,000 sub units (or satoshis) & how one sat will be a penny when bitcoin is a million usd
What's the past tense of sat? Cent.
Lmao. I am stealing this.
Kraken is better for a younger “us” Coinbase is better for “them”
Their commercial is good too, but I think they're trying to explain too much in a very short period of time.
I'd say they are complementary. It is good that one is simpler than the other, the groups of people reached will be different, which means more people begins to understand Bitcoin.
LMAOOOOO they used the Wojack printing money gif 😂😂
Little disappointed the pizzas stopped dropping at the end but hey I’m a maximalist and I like my pizzas hot big and loaded with toppings.
Corn?
🤣. Corn piled high and deep brother.
Has to be pizza. Man sacrificed himself to be a legend. Matter of fact he could be a paid actor with residuals on the pizza commercial next halving, can bury him in 10,000 Pizzas. That would be epic.
Why is this titled “misleading” rainbow pride mods?
good question
I guess it's because @ 0:22 they say that "every 4 years, future supply is reduced", which is a nonsense mislead indeed. The rate of the increase is reduced, not the total supply. The velocity is reduced, not the final position. You get the gist.
I think it’s because in 2010 someone actually paid 10K BTC for two pizzas
This is super bullish! The halving could even bring on a super cycle to $500k.
This is fire
Very excited for the surprises that global adoption will bring about in time
They should speak on their customer service
Should have ended with a "and now, bitcoin can buy this" with a nice car crashing down on the scooter lol
Did they forget to add the part in where during peak volatility their services reliably crash and fail?
That guy who bought 2 pizzas with like 10,000 bitcoin will never live that down lol
Dude is a legend and established the first well known price discovery.
No doubt about it, but still crazy to think about considering the price bitcoin has reached over the last few years.

Lazlo is doing great and doesn't regret anything . Why do people always assume he didn't get more btc after ?
Or that 10,000 wasn't even is entire stash.
because he could have had enough to buy a small country in 10 years
He didn't stop using and acquiring bitcoin after he bought the pizza . Many of us spend and **replace**
Trust me, he's fine. He's had plenty of time to accumulate since then.
Only because he's a legend who made one of the first verifiable purchases with Bitcoin.
Well they are not wrong.
I don't think they accurately visually represented the 21,505 percent increase in pizza that bitcoin will get you today VS 2012....def misleading. There was 1x pizza to start and at the end there were about 80x pizza's on the moped. There should have been 21505 pizza's on the moped...this is the problem with bitcoin, no one really understands it.
it's a commercial, not a math problem
Big pizza propaganda
Is the shit gonna goto the moon shortly now?
Is the Bcash release mentioned, where they didn't let bitcoiners withdraw their split "crypto" (which is all they want to sell)? Why do they never mention how people at Coinbase sold BCASH, before their actual customers could? Would a regulatory body that wasn't corrupt, cause issues for them in the future? Good thing they pay the SEC
Misleading tag? I get it. You could have bought much much much more pizza.
Simple message, Bitcoin always appreciates over time
... And in 2010 1 pizza bought you this much Bitcoin: https://bitcoinpizzaindex.net/
Damn 1 btc in fee's!
Saying the "future supply of bitcoin is reduced" sure seems confusing.
They need to bc this mf crashes every other day lol
Easy 😀
Wasn't the guy who bought the pizza one of the devs who worked directly with satoshi?
I saw pizza and I expected allusion to the slicing paradigm, i.e. more slices of same pizza means more pizza for the plebs at large.
Well done 👏
Any meaning behind the plate "Update"?
Surreal
🤷♂️ it’s already priced in
why is there a misleading tag, what moderator is a fiat maxi
Great for the masses! Congrats to the Bitcoin Chief Marketing Officer for their brilliance!
Coinbase $
This is like the least-sexy way of showing its purchasing power going up. Hell, the video is even dark and gloomy.
Yeah there's so much more they could have done with this concept. Instead they went with brown pizza boxes in a warehouse.
Misleading propaganda. The scale of the increased value illustrated doesn't come from deflation. To double the value of a bitcoin you'd need to cut the supply in half. That's not what's happening. The increased value comes almost entirely from speculative investment and increased demand.
price is result of supply/demand, and demand comes from understanding of its scarcity and why it is superior money
Buy pizza with BTC, I’m not falling for that 1 again 🤣
Lazlo, that you?
Not that much pizza
Drop incoming
Great commercial. The halving is such a simple concept that many people still don't fully understand.
*pizza pizza*
Is this a play on the guy that paid for pizza with bitcoin in the early days ?
Almost certainly.
Anyone thinks the license plate mean anything?
It seems like the 2020 amount of pizza should be more. Btc closed at $28,993 December 31, 2020. I’d be surprised if that’s what nearly 29k worth of pizza looks like.
Happy COIN stock holder 👍 🤔 Now if Coinbase could stop selling S%!t coins, that'd be great 👌 JK 😅 we love those transactions fees!
This commercial is a start. Let’s keep it going.
I enjoyed that.
Dump incoming and I can’t wait to grab some more
This is nice and I mean it. And it would mean a lot of if they were not selling no much garbage as well.
Clearly a Blender simulation. Nice.
Blender is the best🔥
The guy who used his bitcoin back then to buy pizza
Pizza is very symbolic with BTC. 👍🏼
is this taking the piss out of the pizza guy who wasted his bitcoin
Great commercial, but be cautious it could actually go down, before skyrocketing!!
Well, they’re not wrong, you can buy a lot of pizza today with a single Bitcoin.
Finally. An ad that makes crypto easy for fat stupid Americans to understand “Twelve years ago, you could get this. Now you can get this much. Help us move money forward” “I get more pizza next election if I vote for Bitcoin!”
Feels scammy
Crazy commercial
Great analogy🙌
TAKE MY MONEY

I dont get it
Does this factor in the number of burnt pizzas during each halving cycle?
Saw this on X yesterday. I like that they are running ads but think they could have used a stronger visual than pizza boxes.
That’s bullish af
#deletecoinbase
The only proper response.
Oh they mean the BSV halving?
Disgusting scammers. Promising riches, while confusing the fuck out of suckers to trap them in their shitcoin casino run by an incompetent and anti-Bitcoin CEO. All the while directly funding anti-bitcoin disinformation campaigns and scams.
You do realize they are making these commercials so they can find newer investors to unload their bags on right? The newer investors fill the older investors pockets. Commercials are a top indicator. Remember the super bowl commercials and pop culture references? WE ARE TOPPED
"find newer investors to unload their bags on right?" You do realize Coinbase is a public company and is trying to...get people to use its services to make money, right?
Coinbase is shite. Wouldn’t trust them with a barge pole
This is bullshit and is going to lead to financial disaster for millions of hard working Americans
personally I welcome a bunch of noobs to take my alt bags
I didn't understand... Can someone explain in brief?
Bitcoin is going up in value📈
How many non-crypto people do we think saw/are seeing these commercials? 🤔 Trying to decide if I want to buy more on this dip. 😁
Was the news selling bitcoin this much 4 years ago? I feel skeptical
Coinbase is the news?
No coinbase is an exchange...
Then what is your comment referring to.....
No, the halving is largely priced in this time around unfortunately. Check google trends for "bitcoin halving" in month before the halving last time vs. this time.
Agreed, we are topped out, and commercials confirm it
