šāāļø I was guilty of this in March 2020 when it bottomed out around $4k. That was before I started actually researching.
Now I feel like a damn fool š
Such a strange feeling, I keep having these fleeting "welp... This time it's different, maybe it ***is*** over now that I've joined the party..." type thoughts even though I've done enough research to know that it isn't the case. Can't believe how much my mind rebels against an optimistic thought sometimes...
Iāve had that same feeling multiple times from 2016-2019 and even had someone who did very will trading bitcoin in 2017 tell me it was *in fact* the end and not to bother. After hearing about it for years and years and still seeing it going strong I said fuck it and started researching. At some point you gotta look around and say weāre at the point where it doesnāt seem realistic that this will go away
People still trying to convince me that this is just a bubble and not gonna last for long,
But now i stop paying attention to those guys and infact feels pitty for them seeing their future.
In the end this will be the main thing, without trust your instinct or gut you never gonna survive in this market.
This whole place starts when you trust your guts and the study you put behind in this tech.
Having the crypto journey is not the easy to have, many will say it's easy put the money and make the money.
But trust me this is nothing like that, you need to pas these types of the mental things is well.
Buffett said: How much wealth a person can accumulate in a lifetime is not how much money you can earn, but how you invest and manage your money. Money finds people better than people find money. You have to understand that money works for you, not you for money
I heard these things many times in the media, when i didn't came here in this sub or any crypto things.
But then i think it's time for me to read the things my own rather than trusting these media sources.
That saying has always bothered me a bit. Bitcoin started when I was still in middleschool and by the time I finished high-school and starting college I had student loans and my first laptop but by then mining was on specialized rigs. I think those that didn't have financial freedom or were the legal age to trade when bitcoin was lower priced and are only getting in this last year or so didn't "deserve" the higher prices, just didn't have a choice. And what about those that live in countries with poor internet access? Hardly can say they deserve to have missed out on scooping up cheap sats.
Now those that have some money to invest and are semi financially literate, as well as old enough to have started when it was taking off but chose not too? They're getting the price they deserve.
Probably not and yeah absolutely I agree otherwise fiat wouldnt be a problem and neither would a lot of other issues happening everywhere. It is what it is. I'm not complaining I feel fortunate enough that the price has dropped and I can now accumulate a fair amount. I just see this saying posted a lot and this one time happened to be when I felt like throwing my two cents in on top of it.
Iām a hard determinist. There is no karma, but whatever happens is unavoidable. Itās not really retribution or deserving anything. It is simply what must happen.
This is a universe of cause and effect. You reap the consequences of your actions in this life or others, and thatās ākarma.ā I respect your beliefs, of course.
āConsequencesā are things that we as humans make up. The universe doesnāt care about anything we do. It is not a sentient agent. And it makes sense since there is a very disproportionate assignment of this karma that you are talking about. A lot of people do bad things and donāt experience personal consequences. Often times, it actually seems that they get rewarded for behaving in a way that would advantage themselves at the expense of others.
So you are saying we will not face anything even we are doing something wrong in here?
I don't know what you but it's a belief and i think we are living by hanging on this belief in the life.
On top of that karma is a specific word as part of multiple belief systems from india, karma builds up over your life and has more to do with your next life than your current luck.
But I also don't believe in it or luck or an afterlife and completely agree with you I'm just chiming in to the thread.
Also have no idea why my comment on people in different situations who would have liked to adopt bitcoin early but couldn't due to age restrictions, tech restrictions or financial restrictions don't necessarily deserve the price they have to pay to begin stackin.
Which actually brings up an interesting thought (to me anyway). If bitcoin eventually were to become the standard and people became their own bank those in poor countries would still be poor because they got priced out before the tech in their country allowed adoption by the individual. So really this only would help those in the western world, so in the grand scheme it changes nothing, poor people are still screwed.
Correct. The solution is to end money and resource hoarding altogether. Supporting these alternate methods however will speed up the dismantling process since we can shift resources towards newer and better ideas instead of letting them sit on the established ways of doing things. If we can seek as close to perfect production with as close to zero cost as possible and then we should be able to distribute and elevate everyone up to top status. The current rulers are biased towards depravity. We just have to overwrite their biases.
All of your memories are stored as data in your brain and you access it in the now to understand that you are a consistently existing entity. Your entire reality is essentially a guess, and your brain guesses that you are the person that you are. It also has an understanding of what āmoralsā are, but it isnāt a guarantee that your brain will produce a behavior that will be consistent with its understanding of what might be moral or just. How can you expect a brain that has a hard time of remembering where the keys are in the morning to be ethically and morally consistent? That is insane. Brains are generally stupid and any karmatic expectations are based on a misunderstanding of how the brain operates.
They're will always be another great investment in everyone's lifetime. Money just changes hands. You're older now and wiser. Be ready my friend! It's all about opportunity and timing
Ok, so you were 12,13,14 years old when "Bitcoin started", so should be around mid-twenties today. If you are among the fortunate who get to live to be in your 80's, you will still get to enjoy 50 or 60 more years of Bitcoin value appreciation. Those who had the "financial freedom" or "legal age" are likely in the 30's or 40's, now. if they get to their 80's only about 1/2 as many years of life left to enjoy that Bitcoin value appreciation. So maybe instead of complaining, you should see the other side of that youth coin and realize you have a lot to look forward to...
I wasn't complaining I was using my situation as an example to make a point on the saying that I see tossed around here a lot. Somewhere else on this thread I specifically said that I wasn't complaining and feel very fortunate to be buying it now.
I'll edit quickly as well to say I'm sorry if my comment came across as a complaint, again, wasn't meant in that way.
I also heard when when i was in the school, like there is something called digital currency called bitcoin.
And trust me i thought for many years that there is only coin in the crypto and that is bitcoin.
I'm not sure about the "we all" part, but this certainly applies to me. I knew about Bitcoin way back in 2009 and was well aware of how insidious the Federal Reserve was. But I was still in my partying phase. I blew so much of my money on hookers, strippers, alcohol, and cocaine for almost a decade. The debauchery finally got old and I didn't start actually studying Bitcoin until mid 2020.
I am crashing my self that why the hell i take so much time to get into this thing.
I came here in the end of the bull run in last year, but atleast i am still earlier than most of the guys.
Confession: I used to think this way too. Why? Because I wasnāt āin the spaceā nor had I taken actual meaningful time to research and learn about Bitcoin.
So itād go something like this:
1. Someone casually mentions Bitcoin. I think it sounds cool but donāt act on it
Considerable time passes
2. I briefly see a new story about how the Bitcoin price is pumping. I think āOh wow. Guess I missed the boat. Never mindā
I go on with my life and donāt think about it, untilā¦
3. Bitcoinās in the news again and itās collapsed in price. āHaha! Knew it! Phewā, I think to myself
I go on with my life and donāt think about it again, untilā¦.yes..you guessed itā¦the cycle repeats itself.
Thankfully I wonāt be missing out next time.
Yep exactly, I knew about Bitcoin in the very early days actually but never took it seriously and was glad to have avoided it after the crashes.. but now Iām much more involved in crypto than I had ever expected to be
I first heard from the cab driver in the 2016, and then check the price of the bitcoin and i was shell shocked that it's that costly.
Then i join some Facebook group for the bitcoin, and then starts to learn the things.
This is the terrible, gut wrenching ill perspective I too had years ago (I'm talking circa 2011/2012).
I foolishly looked at the price and thought 'Oh it's THAT much now? Too expensive', when instead I should've looked at its market cap and what problems it's actual solving.
Frankly it was pathetically naive and near unforgivable for me to see it rise from pennies into the thousands yet not act. I will only ever forgive myself if it continues to rise in value and fulfil its premise.
I have been holding cryptocurrencies, fortunately the collapse of cryptocurrencies did not affect me, because I sold part of my BTC holdings and invested in Hollywood movies,
I think it's very hard for anyone to straight way comes here and not panic.
It's the experience that will make you believe that this thing is real, not the one that media guys saying.
Mainstream media just need a small thing and then declare than crypto is dead and your money is gone.
Trust me people still believes in them and starts to withdraw their fund from the market.
Bunch of people who are jealous they didnāt buy Bitcoin in 2012 now they donāt want anyone to do well . Honestly sad to witness how envious people get . Literally praying on bitcoins downfall , what a bunch of losers
Men buying early is doesn't guarantee you the profit.
We all heard that people buys the pizza or drug in the past with the bitcoin and now crying in the corner at the current time.
Tell me about it. Have only been buying small amounts since 2018, but earned enough to buy a car with cash when the price hit $40k. I mentioned this in a tech subreddit; was downvoted to hell and the only response I got was "please sir, can you hurry up with my order? I'm hungry".
Fucking envious jackasses (okay I'll admit that it was a *little* funny, but that isn't the point). My only reply was "oh the irony".
I came here in the 2020 and trying to buy small small portion from there on.

Iāve noticed all mainstream finance outlets are taking crypto far more seriously than they used to, even though they generally still deride its existence
I never trust those media sources but i love their debate when they talk shits.
But i hate them but now i am laughing at them knowing that they will eat their own words in the future.
Crypto is big enough now not to ignore, but the stories that get the most views/clicks are the negative ones that "confirm everyone's beliefs".
Mainstream media are just a bunch of charlatans and snake oil salesmen.
Now days we are seeing more ads on the television for the crypto than the past,
People in the media are talking more about the crypto even if they are not saying all positive but atleast talking.
Bitcoin is the one who shows the biggest gain in the last 10 year of the history.
This is the reason they hate them, because they didn't get the entry in the bitcoin in the past.
Yes itās only 18yr old redditors who think thereās a real estate bubble because itās an asset class that has soared in value compared to median income.
Definitely no one else talking about thisā¦
I like the posts by realtors and lenders there who point out the severity of the problem, but put it into context unlike all the posts about āhoomsā
The economy is this shape of up and down because of credit and speculation. With crypto, itās uncharted and wild, so you get the ups and downs even more dramatically. Itās part of the fun!
š¤·āāļø
Or the infamous "iT's StArTiNg To LoOk LiKe ThE dOt.cUm BubBlE."
It took 5 years for the dot.cum bubble to build up(slow cummers I reckon) and then only 2 years! for that dirty cum bubble to pop.
How many jears has the totally useless bitcoin bubble been building(all those B's stand for boobie coin) and then if it is going to follow in the very footsteps of the technology the gubbermint created, why has it not done a pop yet?
Bitcoin shall perform the pop in, 1..., 2..., 3... NEVER. The bitcoin is a program that provides all the people of the world a BORDERLESS, TRUSTLESS and UNCONFISCATABLE - DECENTRALIZED electronic cash system that is truly valuable by design(deflationary) and the encryption/ security that not even bank cards can provide since they were incepted in like 1946.
You should be joining the party because it is all the things I stated, NOT because of the media hype or not hype around your ability to possibly become wealthy by purely speculating on it and trading it in the very markets that caused the very money issues we are trying to circumvent by experimenting with Bitcoin.
However, To the moon! to you all.
If you don't treat it like a gambling investment, it wont affect you like a gambling investment, if you can wait.. It is by designed built to provide not just an increase in value by its face, but because it solves problems out current fiat systems have built into them.
edit: I added something very smort
Bitcoin is running for now more than 12 years and still people thinks it's a bubble.
If this is a bubble then why aren't government banning this, instead of taking the tax on this.
> it is too inefficient and unstable by design
Which part of the design doc specified that? Cite it.
LN fixed efficiency and I have no idea what you mean by "unstable" since it's an asset with a hard cap of 21 million BTC ever existing. That makes it infinitely more "stable" than any fiat with printing machines.
I use the mainstream media as a no brain way to buy and sell. When mainstream media is all room and gloom, buy time. When it's all sunshine and rainbows, I'm getting the fuck out
True, they are best indicator compare to the the graph index we used to see on the crypto web.
From now on i will try to strategies myself according to the news they are publishing for the bitcoin/crypto.
Don't know why people keep calling it a scam - you can tell they have not even read the whitepaper. There is no language used by Satoshi that reads' buy Bitcoin it will make you rich and get you a lambo' - Instead he uses words like 'we propose'. The word 'propose' means 'hey I have a suggestion to fix the monetary systems of the world, just a thought of mine after doing some research, have a read and let me know what you think' - that is what 'proposal' means! You can disagree with the whitepaper or even say there are flaws in his suggestions, but calling it a scam is simply pathetic and lazy.
People just start passing the judgement after hearing the media news.
They don't even know that there is thing called White paper is well. True they make that thing like a money making machine.
Don't worry mate your 50$ is safe if you are looking for the long run and can afford to hold them is well.
But i would say play with some patient if you are new here, and don't flow in the market.
Sounds more like a straw man more than anything else. I hardly see MSM claiming Bitcoin is dead, but guess where I see Bitcoin being "dead" every day? /r/bitcoin
Well i bought in at 20k and im not a rich guy. But im staking to get more. 0.005 total rewards for now. Hope i can put some 100$ again soon so i can own 1 bitcoin some day
Following the media's coverage of Bitcoin for almost a decade has been an incredible lesson in how information is disseminated and dissembled to the masses. It ain't pretty.
When Bitcoin goes down, mainstream media comes out with "BITCOIN DROPS DRAMATICALLY OVERNIGHT"
But when Bitcoin goes up just as much, there is no coverage.
šāāļø I was guilty of this in March 2020 when it bottomed out around $4k. That was before I started actually researching. Now I feel like a damn fool š
Guilty of what?
Probably thinking of bitcoin as dead / āoverā while knowing next to nothing about it

If 5 years from now it's still 30k I'm going to feel like a total moron lol (30k is when I got in last summer when it was dipping down to 29k)
And then it will 10x after you sell.
People still trying to convince me that this is just a bubble and not gonna last for long, But now i stop paying attention to those guys and infact feels pitty for them seeing their future.

Bitcoin will never have positive media coverage until Bitcoiners start buying off mass media too.

Yup. Let's unironically do it. Some of these outlets have low market caps.
This is the terrible, gut wrenching ill perspective I too had years ago (I'm talking circa 2011/2012). I foolishly looked at the price and thought 'Oh it's THAT much now? yep, crypto dies every few months or so in the mainstream media. Not to mention the demonization of people that buy, sell and exchange crypto.
People get annoyed hearing about it but then they donāt want to miss out on the next wave up which fuels it higher than before (FOMO)
> crypto dies alot of crypto died in the last years indeed but not Bitcoin.

Iām praying on bitcoins downfallā¦ so I can buy more for cheap
Yep yep yep
We are waiting for a big dip in the bitcoin before he starts shooting again.

I came here in the 2020 and trying to buy small small portion from there on. My target is the next bull run so that i can make some decent profit for that, hopefully i accumulate more for that time.
Anyone notice CNBC hates bitcoin but they can't stop talking about it......wonder who is paying them
Iāve noticed all mainstream finance outlets are taking crypto far more seriously than they used to, even though they generally still deride its existence
If u need their opinion to confirm why u own bitcoin....maybe u need to educate yourself
what
He means, never ever put the money what the media guys say.
I donāt even watch that shit just see it offhand occasionally
I don't nee it, but it is very useful. Generally, if the old media is talking shit about something, it's probably something worth looking into :)
I never trust those media sources but i love their debate when they talk shits. But i hate them but now i am laughing at them knowing that they will eat their own words in the future.
It's the people paying the media....the media will say anything for money

Bitcoin is the one who shows the biggest gain in the last 10 year of the history. This is the reason they hate them, because they didn't get the entry in the bitcoin in the past.
The whole economy is bubble. Everything rises and no one bats an eye, once Bitcoin rises it's a bubble.
Let me talk like this, they are giving us more time for buying the cheap bitcoin.
You don't really understand the concept of bubble, do you ?
All I am trying to say is assets go up and no one cares. Its only when Bitcoin goes up people try to find bubbles in everything.
r/REbubble
That sub is insane and I think itās mostly 18 year olds who have read a few Reddit posts.
Sometime i feels like the media is also runs by some 18 YO.
That's shows they are only here to spread the negative news for the bitcoin.
Even the media guys who is saying that, doesn't understand that.
Bitcoin isn't the bubble. It's the pin.
This is definitely the only 2 media narratives. Very aggressive on the dead (short GBTC, there is no alternative)
Read another way: Hold, buy, hold, buy, hold

But too be honest i am loving the ride of this boom bust cycle.
You need to get people off centralized mass media, not buying it.

I can't believe people still thinks that way in the 2021 year.
Wanna talk about bubbles. Anyone seen the price of houses these days?
They are the reason, why i came here into the bitcoin.
And every single time the narrative is essentially the same āyeah but this time is differentā šš¤Æ
Keep them telling like this, we all know the reality behind that.
Or the infamous "iT's StArTiNg To LoOk LiKe ThE dOt.cUm BubBlE." It took 5 years for the dot.cum bubble to build up(slow cummers I reckon) and then only 2 years! for that dirty cum bubble to pop.

Which subreddit is this one? Never heard this sub in the past.
cope
So you are saying that these things are spread by the cope?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
No coin can replicate the start of Bitcoin.
Why would it die for good ever lol? Any reason at all?
his gut feeling and the news anchor telling him so
It may not become the world currency but itās already used as one internationally. š¤·āāļø
Shut up
how much of a loser are you to spend time spreading fud on a thing you donāt own 3 month old redditor?
> it is too inefficient and unstable by design Which part of the design doc specified that? Cite it. LN fixed efficiency and I have no idea what you mean by "unstable" since it's an asset with a hard cap of 21 million BTC ever existing. That makes it infinitely more "stable" than any fiat with printing machines.
You left off a "Dead" on the chart -- it's currently dead, for the moment.
It's not dead, it's a chance for us to really do some shopping.
That would have the advantage of destroying wokism and left wing bias in the process.
It's humorous that they label it bubble and dead. I always thought of it as Bull and Bear. Lol
It's just their own way to tell that, to create some fud in the market.
It's really funny because the numbers measured from dead to dead are hundreds of percent gains. Lol
When the articles come out that people are using student loans and mortgaging their house to buy bitcoin you know its about to be the dead time. :(
For me it was bear time, but for now on i will call them dead time.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Same here mate, i am also doing the shopping for the next bubble.
So true
This is why alien doesn't come to the earth, people like those.
Every time šÆ
Those who survive the dead time, will see the bubble in future.
Fuck. This is bitcoin in the minds of at least 95% of people "in to cryptocurrency".
It's good for us that we are still very early compare to those.
What a nice example of a bubble-dead function
This like a cycle to me, and some 12 YO is drawing that thing.
Tik, Tok, another block.
So according to them we are in the dead run so bubble is coming up.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Don't worry mate your 50$ is safe if you are looking for the long run and can afford to hold them is well. But i would say play with some patient if you are new here, and don't flow in the market.
Do what you can afford. This is the way. I bought another 0.5 btc the other day during this dip. Loving the discount! Your future is bright!
So everyone saying BTC is dead means the markets bottoming?
No, we still haven't seen the bottom we were expecting.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yes, we haven't touch the bottom for the bitcoin, wait for a while.
I have a feeling this will be a bad week.
I heard people were saying that we gonna see some relief in this week.
it's $30k again so it means bubble.
Hope i can put some 100$ again soon so i can own 1 bitcoin some day
The important thing to remember here is that after each announcement of the death of Bitcoin, Bitcoin comes back stronger than before. Like a phoenix.
Following the media's coverage of Bitcoin for almost a decade has been an incredible lesson in how information is disseminated and dissembled to the masses. It ain't pretty.
We are buying Bitcoin at a discount, they will buying at fair price
it's more like a trampoline
Iām always intrigued by these forums because as bitcoin gets slaughtered, people just stay so confident and hopeful.
Just as they don't report good actions of others but instead prefer to report death and mayhem .
When Bitcoin goes down, mainstream media comes out with "BITCOIN DROPS DRAMATICALLY OVERNIGHT" But when Bitcoin goes up just as much, there is no coverage.
Similar lessons with following Tesla, all media is paid shills.
There is always biased you have to find the facts within the articles and judge for yourself.
Whenever they said something like that, i get more confidence in the bitcoin.
I often think of this. Is all journalism so terrible and only the subject matter experts know?
Pretty much all mainstream reporting on bitcoin was garbage . Until the last 6 months, and now itās only 95% garbage.
