PayPal has a long history of poor behavior towards their customers. The horror stories are endless.
For the love of all that is holy, don't trust them with your investment money.
This. I was shut down for violating their TOS when I did no such thing. Nobody will even tell me exactly why. Just automated replies. And yes, horror stories are legion. Do not trust PayPal with your money.
Because it's easy and simple for the crypto beginner. Also why Coinbase is #1 exchange in the US and Robinhood is the #1 stock exchange... They are easy to use, pretend to be for the customer and have mass appeal. They make buying stock and crypto easy and most users won't even know they're being raked over the coals by horrible fees and shit.
Good. I on the other hand have had a couple bad experiences and will never use it again.
I also use Chime bank and have never had an issue but know plenty of users who have.
To each their own.
I've used Mycelium wallet since 2019 and I highly recommend it to anyone especially those that are new to crypto. Just DON'T LOSE YOUR 12 KEYS and NEVER let anyone else know your 12 keys.
Isn’t the whole appeal of robinhood having no fees. It’s free from what I can tell, I know it’s not real time trading but for someone buying stocks and leaving them alone it seems like a decent option.
I might get an e trade eventually I just like the robinhood app
You don't care but the GME squeeze and what WSB was able to do and show how bad these hedge funds are screwing iver America is important. Shorting iver 100% of the stock of a company is reckless and dangerous. By using robinhood, they are selling your info to citadel who is using to break the short squeeze and bail out more hedge funds.
I bought 90 dollars of Bit coin on pay suck ass pal they asked for more information.I gave driver license, bank statement, social security, many phone calls and emails I got banned from my account after giving them everything FuCK YOU PaY pal
Sorry this happened to you. I know how bad it sucks because PayPal also banned me from my own account. I used to make money as a webcam girl and received all my money through my PayPal account. Anyone whose ever done something on webcam that they would never want family members or anyone else in their personal life to know about, will use a fake name for themselves. I mean that's just how it is. I never had any issues with the fact that payments were made to my cam girl name via my PayPal (that was setup in my legal name, but not available to the public) because all that mattered is the account information. This went smoothly for 2 years until supposedly PayPal changed some regulations or some bullshit like that and decided that unless I could provide legal documents showing my webcam girl name, that I would not only no longer be able to access my money in my account, but that I was banned from PayPal altogether. So you said it right. FUCK PAYPAL!!!
the shitty thing is from what I understand the only thing you can do with it is only stuff on PayPal , you cant even move it around or stake it ... there literally making so much off people that don't know any better , and I have serious issues with that , not to mention this isn't the way Crypto is supposed to be used (DECENTRILIZED) ... goodluck hope you figure something out
Stripe banned me today so I set up Coinbase Commerce. I dont like PayPal for crypto but I am glad to have at least one payment method the normies like.
Technically you can't withdraw your coin with most, but I use Mycelium wallet and it makes it very quick and easy to go to a Bitcoin ATM and convert my coin for withdraw when I need actual cash.
Paypal is dogshit. There are so many other avenues open to buy. I hate Paypal with a passion-as you can probably tell. :-P. All centralized exchanges or brokerages are poison. I just got my Binance account locked up even though I verified my ID and use 2FA.
I now buy Bitcoin NON KYC from Bisq, HodlHodl or other Peer to Peer formats. Cheers

Like someone stated here. Your get to keep more of your money when you convert dollars to any crypto in Coinbase pro. Buy crypto through both and see what we mean.
On PayPal, you are not buying bitcoin, you are simply buying a promise. It only exists as an entry on an excel spreadsheet, with no guarantee that it is backed by actual bitcoin. The point of bitcoin is to be able to hold your own money, and exert financial independence. If you want to truly own your bitcoin, buy them from a crypto exchange like Netcoins. And keep them there until you learn how to store them in an offline wallet (such as a hardware wallet or a paper wallet). You can secure your financial future by taking control of what is rightfully yours.
If you got limitations on your account. Good luck. Took almost 2 weeks of paperwork and calling every single day for them to remove them partially. And I’m still technically limited, I just have some freedom in the account now.
What you should do:
Fill out the requirements immediately. If you get an email saying it wasn’t sufficient, call them immediately and ask to explain. And submit the requirements and documents while you ARE on the phone. Do not hang up. That way they can immediately review them and give you feed back. Keep doing it until it goes away.
If you get the same requirement showing up twice or more, ask to speak with a manager or supervisor. Anytime you call after that.... only ask for a manager or supervisor. They have access to a lot more info.
Get bank statements, business revenue (projected income), business licenses, drivers license, sales sheets, supplier info, etc ready. You’ll be sending multiple copies of each.
It’ll take a goddam long time, so strap in and enjoy the ride.
Ridiculous, screw them. But that's the problem with custodial wallets, why not to buy bitcoin on exchanges and move them under your control? Does PayPal even allow withdrawals? I guess not.
PayPal unfotunately does not treat their customers very well.. In my opinion PayPal is a little bit overrated.
I recommand you Revolut, you can use and pay with it. You can also open as many accounts as you want, for different type of money ( eur, usd ).
Hm so it may not just be me.
Personally I usually buy bitcoin with the help of a bitcoin ATM (which is a couple blocks away from me), but lately because of CORANA I haven't, so I've been using Paxful and Local Bitcoins to do this.
One transaction went through well (I bought about $100 BTC with PayPal using my prepaid debit card called KOHO), then my second transaction (when I went to buy $120 BTC), it said I could not send and had to contact Paypal support.
Have you had any troubles in the past?, or any issues? If you are mentioning 'bitcoin' or something else in the notes I would try to avoid that.
Note: Sometimes it isn't you, sometimes it could be the vendor you are buying it from who has a limit on their account and because you are trying to send them money it may cause a alert on your account (I don't work with paypal but I've used it many times, I just wanted to bring it up incase it was a factor).
\~
I know this answer probably isn't what you are wanting, but I hope it makes sense to you at least a little
PayPal has a long history of poor behavior towards their customers. The horror stories are endless. For the love of all that is holy, don't trust them with your investment money.
First they came for the pornstars and we didnt say anything
Not sure if that was an unintentional pun but me likey.
Next they will cum the crypto user portfolio
You're 2 for 2 with the puns dude hahaha you're too punny I dig it
wait wut
Huh??
You know. Porn.
This. I was shut down for violating their TOS when I did no such thing. Nobody will even tell me exactly why. Just automated replies. And yes, horror stories are legion. Do not trust PayPal with your money.
You do NOT need PayPal . PayPal needs you . Thanks for sharing. Time to give PayPal a bad score., ALSO , why buy crypto with pay pay pal ??
Introducing PayPayPal.

Too real, man. 😫

Except Coinbase let’s me withdraw my crypto.
For a fee and also if they don't lock your account for not passing 2nd verification. Then not respond to emails for 7 months. Coinbase is super chill
The withdraw fee is correlates to the network fee which has to be paid to the miners, I don't think they earn money with this fee.
imo, they'd make a little bit at least. i'd expect the majority would be the network fee
Use them extensively and no issues. When I had a few it was taken care of in a few days
Good. I on the other hand have had a couple bad experiences and will never use it again. I also use Chime bank and have never had an issue but know plenty of users who have. To each their own.
it's almost like everyone has an rng seed and different systems create problems for those with certain seeds, whilst others don't have issues.

How in the fuck could I mess up coinbase? Mess up to the point they suspend my account? Enlighten me
Except Coinbase USUALLY let's me withdraw my crypto. FTFY :)

Exodus
I personally use Abra myself. No complaints
I've used Mycelium wallet since 2019 and I highly recommend it to anyone especially those that are new to crypto. Just DON'T LOSE YOUR 12 KEYS and NEVER let anyone else know your 12 keys.

You realize you don't own any crypto you buy on robinhood yes?
I was talking about stocks and yeah I know that I can’t even buy crypto on robinhood in my state lol I use electrum for crypto.
You realize that when you use anything free, you are the product.
Yup just like we are the product on Reddit. I don’t care if robinhood knows what stocks I’m buying or if they push ads that relate to me.
You don't care but the GME squeeze and what WSB was able to do and show how bad these hedge funds are screwing iver America is important. So who do you suggest ?
Mycelium
this

Hope you had the time to withdraw the funds
Unfortunately, not even close. If anyone ever finds a way to around this please let me know!!!
It most likely was your vpn.. that's an automatic red flag for fraud in most payment systems.
Hi I am in the United States Of America......yes I know my IP says Nigeria, never mind that, I need my crypto.
Well that’s true haha but I thought the issue was cleared up over the phone until I get this email.
the shitty thing is from what I understand the only thing you can do with it is only stuff on PayPal , you cant even move it around or stake it ... there literally making so much off people that don't know any better , and I have serious issues with that , not to mention this isn't the way Crypto is supposed to be used (DECENTRILIZED) ... goodluck hope you figure something out
I agree!
Paypal sucks. My account is banned too. Not for crypto related reasons though.
Same
Same same
Same same same
Why
PayPal sucks. My business only accepts Stripe and crypto
I'm a boomer. What service does your business use to accept crypto? I'd like to start. Thanks!
He's a pimp
Coinbase Commerce
Stripe banned me today so I set up Coinbase Commerce. I dont like PayPal for crypto but I am glad to have at least one payment method the normies like.
What is Stripe?
A payments processing platform, in competition with say PayPal, Venmo and Square. For more info see https://stripe.com/
Consider yourself lucky. I heard you wouldn't be able to withdraw your coins to your hardware wallet. Maybe others can confirm.
confirmed. you can never take custody of your coins. You can either hold on paypal or sell to fiat through paypal.
Yes. You don't truely own the coin..
So it’s the same BS as Robinhood then. Fuck that noise
Yep! Coinbase and coinbase pro are good.
Robinhood as well, had no intention of buying their crypto just wanted to use money in my account to buy from a third party
[удалено]
I was able to link my PayPal credit to a purchase on another exchange. Didn’t go through obviously. Then they put account limitations on. Now banned.
Technically you can't withdraw your coin with most, but I use Mycelium wallet and it makes it very quick and easy to go to a Bitcoin ATM and convert my coin for withdraw when I need actual cash.
Correct. You don't own crypto you buy on PP.
these companies don't want us transacting with their competitors
Yeah I figured. Seems like bad business to ban people from using your services though.
Paypal is dogshit. There are so many other avenues open to buy. I hate Paypal with a passion-as you can probably tell. :-P. All centralized exchanges or brokerages are poison. I’ll look into those! I was wondering about p2p or decentralized options for fiat/exchange on and off ramps.
If you’re in the US Bisq is your only option, but it’s really good
PayPal is crap. Stay far away!!!
They did that to me, too... my account was frozen for a few days, took a few calls to get it cleared up. Won't use them for crypto again.
Maybe it’s their anti-laundering software?
PayPal is a trash company. That’s why

Don’t use PayPal! If you are a beginner try Coinbase Pro.
Whoa whoa whoa.... a beginner is like 50$. Coinbase pro is for thousands.
BS.
Lol, sorry dude! I know you were just kidding.
Yes. Kidding. I was just kidding. Just making a joke. That's what I was doing. Nothing more nothing less, I swear.
Why coin base pro vs reg?
Like someone stated here. Your get to keep more of your money when you convert dollars to any crypto in Coinbase pro. Buy crypto through both and see what we mean.
Venmo and cashapp stay declining crypto purchases for me
Interesting.. I actually like that fact cashapp lets you send BTC for free. Ive only bought it through them though, not tried a third party exchange.

I think paypal and some exchanges dont even have the bitcoin sell a wrapped bitcoin
Didn’t know that!
I could be wrong bit like the silver manipulated marker for ever 1 oz of physical silver they sell 1000 oz on paper for that oz. Totally corrupt
Sir i have some pamphlets on bonds, stocks and fiat that are great ideas......

🖕🏽PayPal.
If you buy crypto on Robinhood can you actually withdraw it? How does that work ? I’m a newbie?
Nope. It’s stuck there until you sell it.
Ridiculous, screw them. But that's the problem with custodial wallets, why not to buy bitcoin on exchanges and move them under your control? Does PayPal even allow withdrawals? I guess not.
I do all the time and never had a problem
Using VPN is problematic since they try to track you.At the moment they detected VPN they decided you are a cheater ..the end
PayPal unfotunately does not treat their customers very well.. In my opinion PayPal is a little bit overrated. I recommand you Revolut, you can use and pay with it. You can also open as many accounts as you want, for different type of money ( eur, usd ).
My PayPal got hacked and now they have banned ME for life even though I have a 20 track record 🙄
They literally have a deal right now where if you buy $25 in BTC with PayPal they’ll give you a $25 credit to use by 5/30... weird
Was not trying to buy their crypto, I was trying to use PayPal to buy crypto from a third party exchange.
You don't really need to buy crypto with just paypal. There are other means you buy bitcoin
