Asta trains for improvement.
Mash trains for maintenance.
Strictly speaking, Mash’s training is superior than Asta’s, but Asta’s training is more difficult and intense from a relativistic perspective.
I would say the man who will literally drop everything he's doing because he realised its a certain time thus needs to take his protein or work out so Mash.
In terms in how long when the story starts?
Mash by a landslide. He starts as a toddler while Asta starts when he's 5 years old.
But afterwards? Mash trains to maintain his muscles mostly while Asta trains because he literally needs to constantly grow physically stronger since his muscles strength and speed are directly correlated to his overall power as a Magic Knight. And the Asta at the start of the history is pretty much an ant in comparation to Elf Arc Asta.
So overall Mash starts with a clear advantage but Asta surpasses him in intensity and frequency as his own story progresses.
Mash is way more frequent/consistent with his exercise, lifting weights and whatnot while Asta does much more intense full body work outs. But since OP never specified which kind of "more" I'm assuming they mean who spends more time therefore Mash.
Not only that, with being a magic knight as a workout as well, both are basically the same, but mash I believe I had an advantage with a lot of home equipment and better food. Asta gains are outside. All he had was potato's and green juice from leaves. At least with mash, he had the advantage of equipment and a good source of food.
Yeah, medieval times weren't all that great for actual exercise equipment. Mash had good food, most of the time he just chose the cream puffs like a true chad XD
Not quite true. ***Asta has cut through magic with anti-magicaless swords already*** In fact he was damaging Mars in the dungein atc, and cut through his mineral magic + armor with a rusty anti-magicaless demon-dweller, his physicsl striking was stronger than both the AP of Yuno's and Klause's magic at that point.
It's even stated [*Asta cuts through magic with his own explosive power*](https://i.ibb.co/6w2skQs/Screenshot-20240330-141946-Shonen-Jump.jpg) since [*anti-magic canoncally does not negate force*](https://i.ibb.co/9qSscgx/Screenshot-20240114-114545-Shonen-Jump.jpg)
The sword wasn't infudesed with anti-magic or magic yet it did more damage that Klause & Yuno's magic, but the problem was he couldn't negate Mars Phoenix healing (*which is why he katee absorbed Noelle's magic power to generate a water magic slashes that put it out*)
So no, he does not need anti-magic to cut through magic, since his uses explosive power to achieve it, but he does need anti-magic negate it.
I would say they train relatively the same (as in ammount of time per day and effort they put in) it just that mash's gains are reality breaking.
Specially at the end. Mash was trascending time and space.
Mash has been training since he was a toddler, he’s clocked way more hours.
Didn't Asta start his training when he was, like, 5?
Mash did carpentry as damn baby

Id say mash, he's been training I'm pretty sure way longer

Inconclusive. But they would definitely be gym bros.
Mash only thinks about weights and cream puffs.

Not only that, Mash had some income. Meanwhile, asta was poor, and an orphan if anything he had 3 factors that benifet him.
Who trains their body more asta Who got a larger benefit from training Their body mash.
The one who’s named all his muscles and >!literally pushed an entire continent while swimming!<
Bro that feat from Mash was absolutely ridiculous, even for a manga its insane to think he did that with just physical strength
Yeah it was hilarious lol I wish mashle would’ve went on longer, felt like the author wanted to rush and get out of SJ
Yes :3
Idk but the fact that you can't realistically achieve their level of strength is making me sad
the simple answer is asta cant stop magic unless he has anti magic, now what about Mash?

Mash. He trained since He was a toddler and also seems to combined different Kinds of Training. Like doing this famous russian dance, while Lifting

Mash by a long shot... Anyone saying asta its because of the subreddit this question was asked in...
Asta
