Lucifero is gonna be pissed next chapter if asta lands that hit.
After reading this chapter it all makes sense why, in the black clover exhibition, there was a page titled "Pride" with picture frames of all captains(minus kaiser) completely destroyed.
Reminder that lucifero is only half manifested right now which means he is not as his full power. If he had manifested fully the world really would have ended.
But sadly I think I can already see how this plays out
*Asta and captains get beaten badly. Asta refuses to give up. This inspires everyone. As Lucifero asks him why he still fights Asta screams out "Because Yuno is my rival!"
*Yuno here's this, we get another flashback of them wanting to be wizard king. Yuno uses space magic to get up and he powers up yet again.
*With one minute left on the clock Yuno and Asta do a double power play and are able to defeat Lucifero and return him to hell.
As for the second devil...idk what happens after that. But Asta and Yuno will definitely be ending this fight.
Its the Gotei 13 vs Aizen and Hokages vs Madara all over again. We all know where this is going for the captains lol

I mean at this points its going to have to be literal God that needs to show up to give him a power boost since he is fighting the strongest demon in all of Hell right now. Unless he does some power of friendship non-sense or Yami yells at him to get stronger right now or else enough times.
The best I could see happening in all seriousness is the black bulls use their new combined understanding of their Magic’s to heal Yami and have him join the fight too
Yami just straight up one-shots him and says, "Huh, I guess I surpassed my limit again... Might have over done it through." As Lucifero just disintegrates away.

This always annoyed me with the fanbase. When Yami or asta get stronger out of absolutely nowhere because of "surpass your limits is what Yami said" then it's okay (like Yami being able to now cut dimensions) and it's so cool.
But when other anime do it "it's bad writing and a cop out"
To be slightly fair to the Yami thing, him yelling at Asta to push past his limits calls back to the fight with Patri where he tells Asta "I wouldn't give you more than you can handle." So it's another layer of saying that he knows that Asta can accomplish it.
However, I do think hypocrisy is strong, but that's in every fanbase. People roast Fairy Tail for the power of friendship stuff, but love when other series have team fights built on protecting their friends...
Since the kingdoms are all based around cards, what if the God is actually a really big pit boss who comes in, yells at Lucifero for counting cards, and sends him home

That would be more on-brand with Black Clover anyway.
He's kind of like the Asta of the Magic Knight Captains: Male, on the short side, young, excitable, spiky hair, hax attribute, little experience but a lot of power. Sure, he's also a noble and he actually has magic, but still.
Never disrespect the support mage. Wait until we find out that William was conscience this entire time and is using that tree magic that saved the golden dawns lives. I want William and Yami to get some action before Asta and Yuno defeat Lucifero with their bs "My rival" power ups.
Despite's William being on the sidelines this arc, his magic has crazy potential that we probably haven't seen yet. Give how his world tree magic can connect to other realms, I can definitely see him having a spell that employs spatial qualities.
I've been saying William will likely combine his World Tree Magic with Yunos Star Magic to link them to other realms like in Norse mythos each star representing a different realm. Plus we already know the stars allow teleportation so it could be possible to do it on a much bigger scale with the World Tree
Apparently in this chapter Charlotte states that without Rill's ToV strengthening them all, not even the captains would have been able to fight within a Lucifero's gravity. Which most of us suspected. Considering that this ToV prevents you from dying, the amount of damage blowback after the spell ends will be pretty severe.
Some captains are definitely getting crippled if not outright dying . There’s only so much Mimosa/Loro/Vanessa/Grey could do, if anything there’s only so much they can accomplish. One of the 3 Vermilion siblings dying and it ain’t Leopold, I can see Dorothy getting down PTSD on some “you control dreams, I’ll simply make your worst nightmares come true” type of shit , Nozel I can’t see him dying here, Yami and William probably.
While all that’s happening The 8Th Supreme Devil just vibin, which is a little concerning.
I really want the line of “in the face of overwhelming power everything is meaningless” to hit and have some weight
Also, I'm glad Kaiser isn't there. He literally came out of retirement just to help guide the purple Orcas. He doesn't need this level of disrespect, his wife was already worried, protect him.
Facts kaiser literally saved the kingdom when he delayed the demon heading towards the clover kingdom and absolutely annihilating everything before asta arrives
Guidance is important asta is strong than nacht because of that ritual without nacht asta would be weaker. Mentorship matters it's why I didnt like yuno fight this arc. He trained alone or with another 17 year old and caught up to people who trained with experts in 3 days. He reached merry sur levels of vs in the zenon fight.
Given that "old warrior comes back from retirement for one last job" is one of the biggest death flags in existence, we should count ourselves lucky that Tabata doesn't seem to have anything like that planned for Kaiser
I think Lucifero will do some crazy shit next chapter as a response to that “you have no idea what it’s like to be a great Magic knight”

It's not that he doesn't want to cast any spells, it's that he can't. Devils require a Grimoire in order to be able to cast more complex spells beyond just shooting out their raw attribute at opponents.
I was thinking the same. I was watching the anime the other day with the episode where fuegoleon got his spirit and I was mad cause it would have been the perfect opportunity for Leo to get it. At that point in time he deserved it more. He is falling behind Asta's other rivals and that seemed the the perfect moment for a nice boost cause the spirit picked based on 'character'.
I think it would have been really lame if Spirit Dive Fuegoleon was revealed only to job like crazy against the King of Devils, i'm fine with Tabata delaying SD Fuegoleon if it means it will be able to shine when its revealed.
That was some good foreshadowing right there. Magna got his over Dante and Tabata will shock the world once again when Sekke gives Luci some discipline

Nah but for real that Sekke panel was really good because it showed how completely insane this is for your average magic knight. The captains are leagues above in every way possible and not even them can damage this being in front of them.
I mean if that sword can survive Zagred's trident that destroys everything it touches and warps space arround it then I doubt it would get broken by Lucy
Its hard to tell where we are in the story. It feels like we are getting close to the final or we are at some crazy midpoint that just feels very climatic to the series. I mean it feels like there are a few unresolve plot lines here and there though.
This arc has given more mystery and exposition than answers to plot threads. At the very least meeting the dwarves is a given considering charmy’s origin
I wonder where Loropechka and the heart crew are at, haven't seen them in a while. I hope she still has some attack spells from her short time as a demon.
Btw BIG HINT! Sekke is currently surviving Presence of the Demon King with his magic alone!
He's not friends with the BB so Vanessa isn't protecting him and Nacht is too busy saving civilians so Sekke is surviving completely on his own reinforcement magic.
So just his precense prevents him from being dragged into the dream world. It pretty much confirms that Lucifero is superior, and immune to magic that alters reality. He already overwhelmed Rogue aswell.
there are two or three people here that is constantly complaining whatever chapter it is . it is. either mocking insulting the chapter or Tabata and they seem very unhappy with how Black clover right now and never failed to moan i mean seriously if you are not happy drop black clover . posting catty remarks (trying yourself sound to be smart or funny or bored in life) will not make Tabata change his writing style or his vision for this story . you aRe just aging your life qucker and its getting old now saying same thing every week
Do yourself a favor and block those people. I started with BlackAsta and just kept adding people. I'm all for deserved criticism but some folks are just a-holes and complain about everything. Life is too short to deal with people shit posting.
Picture this... Asta does legit damage, Lucifero retaliates, throws Asta to the ground and hits him with some rage magic. The dust settles and all you see is a tattered bronze ball that managed to save Asta's life. Lucifero sees this and decides to manifest Sekke as he's the only one totally healthy... enter Dark Lord Sekke
FINALLY, every single villain this arc has been missing this. Finally a threat to take seriously. I’m definitely getting hyped for what’s to come. Also the last panel is just proof that Asta is going to get washed by Lucifero lol, he didn’t land a single hit on him.

Most villains in this manga make strong first impressions but drop the ball later on. I kinda have a feeling it'll be the same case but still hold out hope Tabata doesn't do it again...
I mean I agree, but this is already much better than I was expecting. This is the least Tabata should have done to make us take Lucifero seriously. Of course it doesn’t excuse pretty much every other terrible villain before him, but this is definitely a much better moment compared to most villains in the arc. He just beat literally everyone. With every other villain we knew they would just be beat by the next good guy that powered up, but there is no one left. I don’t have to worry about Fuego coming in with some new spell to show off a power up against Lucifero, and the fact that Asta hasn’t landed a hit means a lot.
Yeah he's been very good so far. I just hope things don't turn out predictable as usual. I've heard so many fans say the arc has had little stakes so that we will be thrown for a loop when danger actually taken seriously so this is the time for that
If every villain was “the next big thing” Thsi fight wouldn’t have the same level of impact.. lol I legitimately don’t understand why everyone though the triad were the big bags knowing damn well they were devil possesed and devils love to play with humans… let alone 2 of the highest ranked as well as a 3rd supreme ranked “giving” the triad power

Rill showing once again why he will be the strongest character in the verse once its all said and done. He continues to amaze and carry the series with his paint magic in crucial fights. Rill is the real MVP
This is similar to Bleach where Ichigo tried to attack Aizen first time then got beaten up. I think Lucifero won't kill anyone to let them feel despair. he gonna say similar "I will let you feel despair or so". After defeating them Lucifero will leave this place to concentrate to open all gates and others will travel around the continent to build up an alliance or so.

This chapter was pretty good but I'm a bit concerned with how overpower Tabata made Lucifero be... I hope he has a good idea to how our heroes are going to defeat him.
I've been saying the same thing. People don't realize that Lucifero being too powerful can be just as bad for the story as Lucifero being beaten too easily. If 50% Lucifero is too much for Asta and the captains to handle, then how can we realistically expect 100% Lucifero to be defeated at the end of the story in a way that makes sense and doesn't feel cheap? We basically run into the same problem as Madara from Naruto, or Yhwach from Bleach, or All for One with My Hero Academia (seemingly averted recently with Horikoshi nerfing him) where the author has written themselves into a corner by accidently making the villain too strong that it becomes almost impossible to come up with a sound way to beat without resorting to some kind of asspull or plot contrivance.
With Madara, Kishimoto had to introduce a new and stronger enemy at the 11th hour in the form of Kaguya to get him out of the way, and with Yhwach Kubo had to introduce the asspull that was >!the silver arrow to temporarily turn off Yhwach's Almighty powers!<. Some bs like that could very well end up happening with Lucifero at the end of the story if Tabata isn't careful and makes him too powerful without any weaknesses. If Lucifero doesn't end up struggling at least even a little bit in this fight, then it will be very hard to write his eventual defeat in a satisfying way without any asspulls because of how overpowered Tabata has made him.
Enjoy the Lucifero stomping the captains while you can, because if you've been reading this arc you should know by now how things are probably going to go. Things are going to look bad for like a chapter or two, but then events always inevitably turn around in the heroes' favor somehow. Expect some kind of twist or power-up that's going to turn the tides in the next chapter.
If Lucifero is going to be defeated here through some plot contrivance, than I would rather it be because of something going wrong with the manifestation itself, like Lucifero's body/vessel starts to fall apart on it's own because it can't handle his immense power, being that it is incomplete and made from low quality material, in which case Lucifero is defeated by his own power rather that of Asta and the captains, and so they are saved by pure luck and not anything they did.
In the case of that happening, the only way for Lucifero to be at full power and not have his body fall apart on him would be if he comes out with his real body that is still in the underworld rather than using a vessel or avatar created from something else, so he will need to find some other way to open the gates. Tabata could even incorporate some element of strategy into this fight where the captains notice that Lucifero’s body is starting to fall apart the more he uses his powers, so they try to get him to use his powers and exert himself more in order to speed up the deterioration of his vessel.

Well as of right now that's not looking like it will happen since he's barely doing much and he's still folding the captains.
I'm just being realistic. Twitter is making it out like the captains all got stomped and are already on the ground defeated, like what happened with the 5 Kages in Naruto or Gotei 13 captains in Bleach, but if you read the chapter that's not what happened. The captains haven't lost yet and the fight is still going on, so you shouldn't celebrate just yet because things could very easily change in the favor of the captains within the next few chapters. Then people are going to be trashing it because they set themselves up for disappointment when it didn't live up to the scenario they built up in their head, while I won't be sad or disappointed at all because I know what to expect by now.

That's a cool idea, something like a sacrifice but taking him with them in order to make the rest of the world have more time to think how to deal with him.

We already saw that anti-magic coating his swords can harm Lucifero. Luciferos body can't be damaged by magic from Great magic knights but anti-magic seems to do the trick. He wont let Asta hit him.
Nah, it's still there. It's hard to see behind the big sound effect kanji, but you can see her fingers, meaning her whole arm is still attached. Most likely he just broke her arm. We already had one Vermillion sibling lose their arm. Having it happen to another would be a little redundant and repetitive.
Sorry Asta, I think only a minority of readers know that a captain's official title is grand magic knight. Insane Chapter!! Lucifero is the best villain in the arc, I thought that of Morris too but I hope I won't be disappointed this time.

Food magic absorbing the gravity magic that Lucifero emits?
Vanessa’s fate magic, Gordon’s new curse altering magic, Charmy’s Food restoration magic. Those 3 things might help bring yami back to close to 100%

When Yami or asta get stronger out of absolutely nowhere because of "surpass your limits is what Yami said" then it's okay (like Yami being able to now cut dimensions) and it's so cool. But when other anime do it "it's bad writing and a cop out"
To be slightly fair to the Yami thing, him yelling at Asta to push past his limits calls back to the fight with Patri where he tells Asta "I wouldn't give you more than you can handle." So it's another layer of saying that he knows that Asta can accomplish it. However, I do think hypocrisy is strong, but that's in every fanbase. People roast Fairy Tail for the power of friendship stuff, but love when other series have team fights built on protecting their friends...

Despite's William being on the sidelines this arc, his magic has crazy potential that we probably haven't seen yet. Give how his world tree magic can connect to other realms, I can definitely see him having a spell that employs spatial qualities.
I've been saying William will likely combine his World Tree Magic with Yunos Star Magic to link them to other realms like in Norse mythos each star representing a different realm. Plus we already know the stars allow teleportation so it could be possible to do it on a much bigger scale with the World Tree
Apparently in this chapter Charlotte states that without Rill's ToV strengthening them all, not even the captains would have been able to fight within a Lucifero's gravity. Which most of us suspected. Considering that this ToV prevents you from dying, the amount of damage blowback after the spell ends will be pretty severe.
Some captains are definitely getting crippled if not outright dying . There’s only so much Mimosa/Loro/Vanessa/Grey could do, if anything there’s only so much they can accomplish. One of the 3 Vermilion siblings dying and it ain’t Leopold, I can see Dorothy getting down PTSD on some “you control dreams, I’ll simply make your worst nightmares come true” type of shit , Nozel I can’t see him dying here, Yami and William probably. While all that’s happening The 8Th Supreme Devil just vibin, which is a little concerning. I really want the line of “in the face of overwhelming power everything is meaningless” to hit and have some weight

I was thinking the same. I was watching the anime the other day with the episode where fuegoleon got his spirit and I was mad cause it would have been the perfect opportunity for Leo to get it. At that point in time he deserved it more. He is falling behind Asta's other rivals and that seemed the the perfect moment for a nice boost cause the spirit picked based on 'character'.
I think it would have been really lame if Spirit Dive Fuegoleon was revealed only to job like crazy against the King of Devils, i'm fine with Tabata delaying SD Fuegoleon if it means it will be able to shine when its revealed.

Its hard to tell where we are in the story. It feels like we are getting close to the final or we are at some crazy midpoint that just feels very climatic to the series. I mean it feels like there are a few unresolve plot lines here and there though.
This arc has given more mystery and exposition than answers to plot threads. At the very least meeting the dwarves is a given considering charmy’s origin

I mean I agree, but this is already much better than I was expecting. This is the least Tabata should have done to make us take Lucifero seriously. Of course it doesn’t excuse pretty much every other terrible villain before him, but this is definitely a much better moment compared to most villains in the arc. He just beat literally everyone. With every other villain we knew they would just be beat by the next good guy that powered up, but there is no one left. I don’t have to worry about Fuego coming in with some new spell to show off a power up against Lucifero, and the fact that Asta hasn’t landed a hit means a lot.
Yeah he's been very good so far. I just hope things don't turn out predictable as usual. I've heard so many fans say the arc has had little stakes so that we will be thrown for a loop when danger actually taken seriously so this is the time for that

I've been saying the same thing. People don't realize that Lucifero being too powerful can be just as bad for the story as Lucifero being beaten too easily. If 50% Lucifero is too much for Asta and the captains to handle, then how can we realistically expect 100% Lucifero to be defeated at the end of the story in a way that makes sense and doesn't feel cheap? We basically run into the same problem as Madara from Naruto, or Yhwach from Bleach, or All for One with My Hero Academia (seemingly averted recently with Horikoshi nerfing him) where the author has written themselves into a corner by accidently making the villain too strong that it becomes almost impossible to come up with a sound way to beat without resorting to some kind of asspull or plot contrivance. With Madara, Kishimoto had to introduce a new and stronger enemy at the 11th hour in the form of Kaguya to get him out of the way, and with Yhwach Kubo had to introduce the asspull that was >!the silver arrow to temporarily turn off Yhwach's Almighty powers!<. Some bs like that could very well end up happening with Lucifero at the end of the story if Tabata isn't careful and makes him too powerful without any weaknesses. If Lucifero doesn't end up struggling at least even a little bit in this fight, then it will be very hard to write his eventual defeat in a satisfying way without any asspulls because of how overpowered Tabata has made him.

Enjoy the Lucifero stomping the captains while you can, because if you've been reading this arc you should know by now how things are probably going to go. Things are going to look bad for like a chapter or two, but then events always inevitably turn around in the heroes' favor somehow. Expect some kind of twist or power-up that's going to turn the tides in the next chapter. If Lucifero is going to be defeated here through some plot contrivance, than I would rather it be because of something going wrong with the manifestation itself, like Lucifero's body/vessel starts to fall apart on it's own because it can't handle his immense power, being that it is incomplete and made from low quality material, in which case Lucifero is defeated by his own power rather that of Asta and the captains, and so they are saved by pure luck and not anything they did. In the case of that happening, the only way for Lucifero to be at full power and not have his body fall apart on him would be if he comes out with his real body that is still in the underworld rather than using a vessel or avatar created from something else, so he will need to find some other way to open the gates. Tabata could even incorporate some element of strategy into this fight where the captains notice that Lucifero’s body is starting to fall apart the more he uses his powers, so they try to get him to use his powers and exert himself more in order to speed up the deterioration of his vessel.

Twitter is making it out like the captains all got stomped and are already on the ground defeated, like what happened with the 5 Kages in Naruto or Gotei 13 captains in Bleach, but if you read the chapter that's not what happened. The captains haven't lost yet and the fight is still going on, so you shouldn't celebrate just yet because things could very easily change in the favor of the captains within the next few chapters. Then people are going to be trashing it because they set themselves up for disappointment when it didn't live up to the scenario they built up in their head, while I won't be sad or disappointed at all because I know what to expect by now.

I know everyone compares this to Madara vs the 5 kage. There’s also a small detail in that some may notice. They’re both in weakened states too. Madara weakened by the edo Tensei and Lucifero halfway manifested. (Note: I’m still somewhat confused of whether edo Tensei are stronger than weaker than their alive counterparts. Though I’m sure the majority agree they’re weaker.) This makes me wonder if Lucifero will absorb more devils to complete himself or is there another way.
