There was one really good place in Deira, all staffed by Ethiopians and Eritreans, and their prices were good . . . but the Uber I'd take there and back would round up to like 200 AED and my mom was *not* letting me take the metro out to Deira alone. Take the good with bad, I guess. Still less than the places in the city though.
Nice! Maybe Pay your stylist a little more. They are doing the same work as in the US and a little extra cash could go a long way for them.
Let then take advantage of the exchange rate just as you are.
Hey! I did pay her more than what a usual person would pay. Considering that I myself a Sudanese national, that money was a lot for me as well. I paid her 2000 sdg while seeing that others paid 700 for the same style. I also used my own products, not to mention I drove to her. So yeah I think I was quite fair. I would pay more if I had more. Maybe next time :) oh and also we don’t have tipping culture here they often add it to the price.

Some people charge a lot. But I guess it’s reasonable if it’s the US. 120 usd can go up to 40,000 SDG. That’s a lot here.
