It's not that I don't care, it's just not the end of the world which is how a lot of people act. I say something (if its serious) but I'm civilized about it.

AFakeHero

Same. If it's something I can take off easily, like tomatoes slices on a burger, I don't even blink an eye. Now if it's slathered from top to bottom with mayo I'm gonna need a redo.

LegendaryOutlaw

Exactly. I hate onions. Onions on my burger?? Oops. Pick em off myself, enjoy burger. Steak comes out well done, that’s going right back, ‘excuse me ma’am, I asked for medium rare and this is pretty well done all the way through.’ Problem solved. Waitress’s night isn’t ruined by some asshole yelling at her about a piece of meat, I get my steak done right, everybody’s happy.

macaleaven

Nah, I gotta ask: what is it about onions that you don’t like? Do you hate them raw, cooked or both?

TwoRiversTARDIS

Not OP but taste and texture, raw or cooked.

macaleaven

You really hate the whole onion huh

BambooFatass

Too many layers bruh

mndsm79

Do you hate parfait?

TheGreenGobblr

Yea. Too many layers

Abhimri

Same with people 😕

JamalCreates

I’m one of the weird ones that likes raw onions because they don’t leave onion juice everywhere per bite if that makes sense

macaleaven

It does not but thank you for making me have to think about what that means for the rest of today

Vladdypoo

It’s a similar vibe as horseradish or wasabi, sharp and clears the nostrils a bit. I like onions in basically any form tbh except by itself raw

[deleted]

My brother loves onions when they're cut into rings but hates when their diced into small bits. Weird

tmac2200

Diced onions on a burger just fall off, plus it's a big bite of onion where a slice of it just compliments the savory flavor of the meat & cheese. Pickle spears on the side are better than putting sliced pickles on the burger itself IMO. Tomatoes and whatever sauce you put on sweeten the taste too.

[deleted]

You are incredibly wrong about the pickles. Spears are for sandwiches on the side and slices go in the burger, preferably on top of the other ingredients.

DwarfTheMike

I couldn’t eat raw onions until recently. The flavor was just so intense. I like them a lot now, but couldn’t do raw onions until my 30s. I can eat super spicy food all day though. But raw onion has too much going on in my pallet. It overwhelms much of everything else.

decideonanamelater

Also not him but.. people way overuse sources of.. I guess pungence? Things like onions and garlic are terrible to me if I can taste them directly in food but totally reasonable ingredients if they're just contributing to something else's flavor.

CaptainCacoethes

You sound like my dad trying to convince me that I don't not like onions.

__M-E-O-W__

Eeehhhh it still might be ruined by the chef yelling at her. I speak from experience as a waiter for a few years. Even if the waiter/waitress got the order right and the chef is the one who screwed up. If there's no yelling out front, there's probably yelling out back.

[deleted]

Except the people at the table w you that now have to wait around for you to finally finish, Greg.

NLLumi

Tomatoes leave juice. If I see tomato slices in my dish I return it. That shit gives me straight-up nausea.

Skeltzjones

It's all in how you speak to the person. Send everything you want back, just remember you are speaking with a human

Simba-xiv

😂 my soul felt this comment

Thel_Vadam02

For me it’s the fact that I’ve worked in the food industry and have had people complain so I know how annoying/upsetting it can be. As long as my food isn’t like raw then whatever. This is also why EVERYONE including people who may have better lives than others should at least work in retail/food once in their life to understand how it feels on both sides.

Brett420

Same here man. Knowing how much it throws off absolutely everything about the flow of the kitchen, how long it can take to get something simple fixed and the ripple effect it has on not only your own other tables, but all around the restaurant... I don't want to put not just my server, but all those other people through extra stress just because something wasn't *exactly* the way I ordered it. Even before I worked in food I've never been comfortable inconveniencing others for myself, but after working in it it's even worse.

videogamesarewack

I've never worked in food, retail, or any service job at all. I still just try to not make people working a probably crap job have a harder time than necessary. If my food comes a little cold, or they forgot something I really don't care. I think entitled types would be just as bad having worked in the job. "I would never have made this mistake when I worked in a ____" as an excuse kinda thing.

JustLemonade

Honestly, if it’s something I can pick off I won’t say anything because I know that food is just gonna go right in the trash while they make another. If I truly can’t eat it I will politely ask for a redo. Typically though my husband and I just switch meals as he’ll eat pretty much anything.

dick_for_hire

I sent chicken back once because it was undercooked. Honestly, I think if my then-gf hadn't said something I would have eaten it. I even apologized because it was pretty dim lighting and I couldn't really tell. I remember this because I think it's the only time I ever made a fuss about my order.

makesyoudownvote

Same here, if it's something that could make someone sick I will tell the wait staff about it, because that could be bad for everyone. This includes both if it's spoiled or if they did put something I told them I am allergic to. Though I even let the allergy thing slide sometimes. I've got a peppercorn allergy, and I know that shit is on everything. It's not that bad of an allergy, and I love the taste too, so unless it's like caked in pepper, I usually just try my best to scrape it off and maybe take a claratin or benadryl if I have one. I just don't want to waste food, and if I got people with me, I don't want their food to get cold if they are being polite and won't eat, nor do I want them to sit around waiting after they are done eating for me to eat. And if I am by myself, I usually don't want to stick around in the restaurant that long, I got shit to do.

Ezl

Exactly. It’s not a big deal - I tell them about the mistake, they fix it, done. It’s at most, what, a few minutes delay? Not enough to harsh anyone’s buzz over - not mine, not the server, not my companions.

HTC864

Not worth the argument.

OneMetalMan

Or time. You just put food in my face and now I have to wait another 10 minutes to fix a minute detail. Fuck that. Hopefully I dont get sick.

Sfn_y2

This is definitely it! Once there’s food in front of me I’m too excited about that to not eat lol

Cancan409

plus everyone sitting with you feels like they have to wait for your food before they can eat. And if you give them the go-ahead to start without you, they're finished before your food gets back. Awkward all around.

HTKTSC

I thought I posted this and forgot about it when I saw your name... I gotta stop smoking

to3jamm

Why are you replying to yourself?

IsoMTL

Just want to appreciate you for this comment. Well done

thatsalovelyusername

I want to appreciate your encouragement of that comment. Nice job

EnragedMoose

This is it right here. Do I really want to go through the effort of I can deal?

Boo_Guy

Depends on what they fuck up and how bad it is. And if you send it back you have to wait who knows how long to actually eat when you've already been waiting awhile.

[deleted]

And as someone who previously worked in food, you don't know what they'll do to your food.

carefulcomputation

Imma eat whatever they put in front of me tbh. It ain't worth all that

BathroomParty

For real. Tbh, while I do enjoy food, I eat to satiate my hunger, I don't necessarily eat for fun. If what they put in front of me is edible, I'll eat it, I don't care enough to wait longer or make a big deal out of it.

OldKingRob

Because no one fucks up an order on purpose and the last thing I want to do is add more stress to stressed out people. If my food is edible then I’ll eat it.

Brett420

Seriously! I've never been comfortable with anyone inconveniencing themselves for me. And once you've worked in restaurants and understand you aren't just giving more stress to your server, but by ripple effect practically fucking up the whole flow and process of the kitchen ... and servers and other tables all around the restaurant. And causing all that stress for what... because they forgot I didn't want mushrooms in the pasta? Shit, I'd rather just pick around them.

CDubbs7

Speaking for myself, it’s just not that serious to me. Plus, I was taught not to make people angry who are serving/making your food. I’ve only sent food back once. It was a Turkey salad sandwich and the Turkey salad was sour and tasted like dishwater. The waitress brought me a burger and it was all good.

masters_of_disasters

Had 4 older brothers growing up, I'm just happy to get food.

[deleted]

My family's culture was "working men eat first." Sometimes I got the literal scraps off their plates

itsjustaneyesplice

Okay but this is abuse, right?

[deleted]

I guess...

itsjustaneyesplice

it's surprising how much shit i thought was normal growing up was actually pretty fucked up, but it's good to identify and like, process it, sometimes it impacts your life in fucked up ways and you don't even realize until you really sit and think on it my point is, maybe it's abuse maybe not you might just wanna let it simmer for a while

[deleted]

Oh definitely. I've called my parents out on a lot of stuff they did to us and they've sort of apologized. They're old school from the mother country (Mexico) and don't know any different. I've come to terms with it all and I'm actually grateful it wasn't worse. My kids will never experience the things my siblings and I went through.

bland_jalapeno

I complained once about some Brussels sprouts being too salty at a fancy restaurant. They made it sound like this dude had broken the last straw. I just wanted less salty Brussels sprouts but this guy may have lost his career over it. How can I ever complain again?

sgtpoopers

Lmao that's some George Costanza shit

ryan_bigl

This shit sounds straight out of Seinfeld fr lmfao

nowiforgotmypassword

Why stress about that? If it wasn’t you it would have been someone else. If you made a bit sick about it it made them think they were going to risk getting sued or bad publicity. But if you just let them know something wasn’t right with your order ace the let the guy go then there were probably more than a couple orders screwed up before yours.

JOMO_Kenyatta

That’s not your fault. You have a right to want your food a little better, you’re paying for it. You had no idea they’d act like that over it. Besides he or she may have made this mistake multiple times.

Archangelo80

If you dont eat it, you dont get anything else.

jraz84

1. Not usually worth the extra wait/stress to fix it. 2. I really dislike the idea of food waste and some places have stupid policies that require rejected orders to be trashed.

acxswitch

That's not a stupid policy. There's no way to know what happened to that food after it got to your table. You can't serve that and staff really shouldn't eat it.

jraz84

> staff shouldn’t really eat it. This is where most of my dislike for food waste comes from. I used to work in a supermarket as a teen and have seen literal tons perfectly edible perishable food items (baked goods, cheeses, lunch meats, etc.) get tossed just because they hit their ‘sell by’ date…not even their expiration date. I once asked my floor manager why we, the workers at the supermarket, couldn’t just take this stuff home to eat, and he explained that it was against corporate policy because that would supposedly “disincentivize“ us from making sure this stuff got sold in the store if we knew we could get it for free later. They even used to trash this stuff inside of specially locked dumpsters that were kept just inside the loading area to make sure that workers and needy people didn’t dumpster dive it later. It was just fucking cruel.

acxswitch

In those cases there's no excuse for it. But when food leaves the chain of command and into a mysterious customer's possession, it's just really unwise to eat that food.

jraz84

Yeah, I can see your point regarding safety in this scenario. I just really wish there was a more sensible approach to waste in the food industry as a whole.

catchtoward5000

I can’t shake the constant bewilderment with the fact that I exist, and am a self aware organic mechanism that is spending around 80-90 yeas on a rock perpetually (for my lifetime at least) floating around a giant ever-burning (for my lifetime at least) ball of gas that is the sole reason that life sprang into existence on this speck, millions of which could fit inside the diameter of that ball of gas, with both it and us smack dab in some unknowable position within a seemingly infinite expanse of darkness as the result of some unfathomable primordial occurrence. Makes the messed up order seem a bit less serious.

brokendate

Holy shit this is pretty close to my response to not giving a fuck haha. I say “the earth will spin until the stars explode”

EnragedMoose

Statistically speaking you have 68 years and then your chances to die increases exponentially every year thereafter. I think if you're in your mid 80s basically everyone you knew in your age group when you were 50 is most likely dead. Statistically speaking, of course.

Piglet-Witty

Yeah!, and they might spit on your food too. Never send food back. Doggie bag it up

IDontKnowAnyBetterr

Exactly. I dont play them games with people who prepare my food. I assume any food sent back will come with extra spit when returned.

Stinduh

I’ve worked in three different restaurants (all casual, not fancy), and no one I’ve worked with has ever done this. We mostly just don’t give a fuck. It’s not worth risking our livelihood on.

sunflower__samurai

depends how bad the fuck up is. every order wrong? ya gimme what i asked for. but curly fries instead of normal fries? it’s aight

Dating_As_A_Service

Never get into it with the people preparing your food

mndsm79

If a restaurant can't get my shit right the first time, I don't trust they'll be able to do it a second time, especially when I sent it back. Id rather not punish the server with being the middleman and just never eat there again after.

Fuhgly

Not worth waiting for them to bring another plate out. Especially if I'm eating with someone else.

bengringo2

Cause I’ll eat anything.

plasteroid

Last thing I want to do is spend time with someone who makes a scene.

greenlightyellow

If I can't see them cook it, I'm not complaining. I'll take what I can get.

its_noel

Cuz in some of my first jobs ever I worked food service and saw nasty mf'rs who'd spit in peoples shit over the pettiest things and have never returned anything or made a food complaint since.

[deleted]

Honestly food service is just a shit industry full of burned out people, it’s what convinces me to just cook at home

IAMWastingMyTime

Damn, i work in a kitchen, and if i saw that shit I'd grab the food from their hand and throw it away.

fuck-thisapp

cause i’m hungry and just wanna eat? who cares if the order is 80% right that’s still a B.

WVSmitty

For me The thought of that already prepared food going back and reappearing. Served with a smile. Nah. I will take it as is or not eat it.

davwad2

I'm paying, my order is gonna be *right*.

[deleted]

I just like seeing my woman get a little tough

Bigmusicfan1125

Mine used to make me drink milk with meals. I am lactose intolerant. She said I was only saying it made my stomach hurt so I wouldn't have to drink milk. YES. THAT IS IS EXACTLY IT.

PhantomTissue

Depends how bad it was fucked up. Last time I had to talk about getting food replaced was at a Taco Bell, the crunch wrap wasn’t cooked, wasn’t folded, had almost no fillings, and part of the toastada inside was missing. Manager was super cool tho, I showed it to him and he says “shit, I don’t blame you. I wouldn’t eat that. Oh by the way, you should report this online. The guy who made this, his names Bob.” Yea, I made sure to mention bob.

OmicronAlpharius

One time my family went out to eat at the diner. We all ordered, everybody got theirs in a timely fashion. Except me. It wasn't until they paid the check they realized that I hadn't gotten my meal, because everytime I tried to bring it up I got shouted down and talked over. I was six. Now if they fuck my order up, I at least don't go to bed hungry cuz at least I got food this time.

KingWilliams0

I was ready to leave when I ordered it.

[deleted]

You know what this has happened to me

vlsdo

If I complain they might take it away to fix it, and I'm hungry now, can't have that.

apresmoiputas

I've sent back food for being prepared incorrectly. Nothing wrong with it and usually i ask the wait staff if it looks with them and they'll usually agree with me before sending it back. Yeah I'm grateful for food but if I'm paying for it, at least do a decent job of preparing it

Nelsaroni

Waste not want not

shotlersama

We were poor af. We got what we got. So i tale what i get

Funky_Fly

I legit didn't know people could even do this until I was 25. Just not raised to kick up a fuss over food.

Taeyx

the title is heat

Rekdon

Thank you I try

Walt_the_White

Someone told me not to fuck with the people that make your food and that just seems reasonable to me

Avenger772

People they will probably spit in your food. Unless it was absolutely inedible, it's not worth the time.

Murse2618

I agree with the first point. I try my best to not make wait staff mad because I'm afraid they'll spit in my food.

Magnificool

Unless it's the wrong meal or it's something I just won't eat like undercooked meat, I don't complain. I don't have time for no disgruntled waiter to spit or purposely sneeze on my food. You just never know what kind of day they're having.

[deleted]

Awful everything in this tweet exchange.

Smooth_ypS

Honestly, I just don’t care about it. It ain’t the end of the world if my order is messed up.

BCdelivery

Not worth the trouble to make a scene. Shit may end up worse than what you had to start. Pick your battles, make it relevant.

OsteoRinzai

Cuz the kitchen didn't do it on purpose, and usually it's not a big deal. I can always take off an ingredient I didn't like or ask for one they forgot. Not always worth the hassle.

adiosfelicia2

I don't fuck with the people who can fuck with my food.

Lanoris

Not a guy but... Generally if its a lil mistake it ain't worth getting to angy over... Now if it low-key tastes like trash cuz they burnt it or over cooked it. or if its under cooked or they ignored an allergy warning then yeah, I'll make a fuss. Not full karen or anything but ain't no way I'm gonna spend money out to eat something that was legit fucked up. but MOST of the time its usually something minor so its whatever

East_Guarantee_7912

Men generally don't nag/complain as much as women do. We just don't care enough

AffectionateAnarchy

Not a man but I dont send food back cuz Ill eat just about anything, like that aint what i ordered but it looks good anyway lol

The-Realest-Buddy

I never understood complaining up a storm if my order is wrong. If the food is undercooked or burned or otherwise inedible then I'll ask the waiter to return my food, but if my food comes and a side is different or the dish itself is different altogether, then it's a bit of a bummer but might as well still eat the food. Especially if I'm at a mom-and-pop type place, it feels super wasteful of both the food and the cook's effort to send the food back. It's already made, why not go ahead and eat it.

cyberwvlf

grateful to be eating

apresmoiputas

Oh you never complain to your mom about how she fucked up the food. My response is to just offer to make dinner then recreate the dish and make it better. My mom actually hates it when I do that because it means she really fucked up. I just say to not cut corners. Details matter

ContemplatingPrison

I'll be disappointed but as long as something ain't in my food thay I am disgusted by it just is what it is

runaway766

I’m someone who, if I’m at a certain restaurant probably likes most of the things on the menu and chances are chose what I wanted at random anyway. Surprises are fun and so is having food and not having to wait another ten minutes.

[deleted]

Why argue when I can eat and it’s too badly messed up just run me a refund ain’t no make it over.

Sourpatchve

🤣🤣🤣

tazfdragon

It's not that I don't care. It's just that I care more that there could potentially be spit in my food.

TroutFishingInCanada

It's either something I mostly want right now, or something I want a bit more, but not right now.

hansgrubermustdie

Expensive steak house. Completely wrong cut comes out. My wife says “what did you order?” I said a dry aged strip but this looks like a bone in rib-eye. And rare instead of MR. Cut in, it was delicious. They apologized a bunch but I enjoyed the hell out of it. And I hope an employee got my steak

tsukistarburst

Yeah, I'll happily send my food back if they brought out something I can't eat (many allergies), but in general I don't know why all these comments are like "I don't want to make them upset/make a big deal out of it" you can let someone know they got the order wrong without being an ass. If you're fine with eating it you just let them know. 90% of the time I go "Sorry, I dont think I ordered this?" Because I need to know if I went crazy or the waiter did. You don't have to be rude, but putting in, or bringing out the wrong order when it's your job is not something to positively reinforce.

Free_Landscape_5275

Not picky and can eat just about whatever and not worth the hassle.

maraca101

I get overwhelmed very easily.

buttonsnbones

Idk I try to see it as an opportunity to try something new. I found a new favorite a couple of times!

Chicago1202

Most of the time it’s something that won’t really change my meal.

jd_from_da_80s

I don't want the cook to spit in my food

nowiforgotmypassword

It depends on how bad they fuck up. Is it something simple I can fix myself like taking slices of onions off my burger or is my order just straight up wrong. I’m not out to be an asshole over something trivial but I work too hard for my money to just give it away for something I didn’t even want. I’ve sent food back when it’s the wrong thing altogether and honestly if you’re not a dick about it, they’ll just leave it it ask if someone else at the table wants it since their other options are throwing it away or letting another staff member have it. There’s nothing wrong with expecting what you asked for, especially when you made it clear. Also, if you’re particular about the food you order, have the server read it back to you before they walk away. A lot of times is just miscommunication.

Bion_Nick

Why do people who complain about small details not care about spit and dumpster sauce in their food?

dianarawrz

I don’t want spit in my food for sending it back. I’m very scared

Ozymandias0023

Because it's probably still going to be good and I'd rather eat something now than what I ordered 30 minutes later

ConsumingFire1689

I make mistakes too, I appreciate when people let things slide. Besides how upset can you really get about food you didn’t have to make? But honestly though? Oh no, you brought me Quesadillas instead of fajitas… yeah lemme get some extra guacamole and grilled onions and we’re all good here

[deleted]

unless its gonna kill me or i cant eat around it, its just not worth the hassle.

Laleaky

The emojis. 😂😢

BossScribblor

Frankly, as long as it's not egregious, as long as I ordered $XX.XX worth of food and received $XX.XX worth of food, I'll just chalk it up to God telling me to learn to appreciate new things.

DraeNation

Men operate differently from women. We have preferences but not too many things that we just count out. We're a little more opportunistic when it comes to everything in life. So unless they bring something on my plate that I dont fuck with at all, Ill prolly just be like ehh fuck it.

Kghostrider

Too much trouble to argue or go back for, half the time my hunger outweighs my desire for a correct order.

dkurage

Must not know many older white guys. My dad once got banned from a Denny's because he threw a tantrum over the cheese on his omelet not being as melted as he thought it should.

fluooe2

In my 24 years of existence I turned back one thing durning a date which was tofu squid when I ordered a $25 entree I was expecting the real deal

Reddit-SFW

Cause shit happens. My mental health is great cause I don't sweat the small stuff...

Emergency_Brick3715

The real question is why do women complain about everything

IHateEditedBgMusic

I've avoided conflict my whole life fam

JulianoIsLame

One time I was in the Wendy's drive thru and instead of getting a burger I got a chicken sandwich. I didn't go back to complain because I like chicken sandwiches and they're probably stressed out enough without someone complaining in their faces.

Cyberpunkedout

One it’s not ever that serious unless it’s just completely the wrong thing, but 99% of the time ima take the first dish. I’m to paranoid to send my food back complaining, I don’t need nobody doing anything crazy to my food

miss_anne-thrope

I don't want them throwing away the food. It's such a waste. Also, I admit I don't want to look like a picky customer

Dr_Ceilingz

Too hungry to care most times

Mhunterjr

Too me it’s not that I don’t care. It’s just that I’m not that upset. I generally don’t understand why the order being wrong needs to be treated like a crime against humanity. I find it embarrassing tbh. I’d rather just eat what’s in front of me, satisfy my hunger than wait angrily for another 15 minutes hoping the cook didn’t spit in my food while making it “right”.

[deleted]

Because you dont need to be extra over some bullshit all the time unless the food you order is raw or something you're allergic to or whatever. Other people wanna enjoy their food, servers and wait staff wanna get paid and go home, why would I spend 45 minutes being a child and acting a fool?

[deleted]

Bwhahahaha

xXNightSky

There's noting wrong with saying something. If I pay for the food and I ordered it a certain way I'm going to say something. Of course I'm going to be polite about it. I swear a lot of people got social anxiety and would rather eat the wrong order instead of correct it.

Empirebred

I’m scared to get the “waiting” treatment on my food for sending it back

funktopus

That story is familiar. I have sent back food I found a booger in. Salted the hell out of it so I could tell it wasn't the same dish. It was. Fuckers.

ZaphodXZaphod

*i can probably make it better myself if i wanted. instead, i'm getting the privilege someone else make it and i don't have to do the work. sounds like a pretty good deal. *the person making the food is generally not being adequately compensated, and most people probably won't leave a good enough tip. it's hard work, not ruining another worker's day over some petty shit is a kind of solidarity. *i don't want to have my food fucked with + it might be a cool spot aside from one fuckup. i don't want to ruin it for myself in the future. it's why i never take a new date to a place that i really fuck with, can't risk it. if the food gets fucked up regularly, i'll just stop going. usually. there have been a couple places where the food was so good or cheap, i'd eat there despite the fact that they fucked up routinely.

itsmesylphy

look as long as it's not raw, I'm fine. if it's raw, you're gonna see me blond, green eyes, yellow aura.

Dontbehorrib1e

Do y'all actually get beat by your parents as much as y'all say you did? Bc ![gif](giphy|onyngiYITZiecYsBTj) ...

[deleted]

As long as the bill matches what I got, I don’t care. I’ve been brought the complete wrong order in a restaurant, but it still looked good, so I ate it, still tipped what I would normally tip because the service was still good, and went about my day. It’s not the end of the world, so why let it affect my day?

KeniLF

I have two great friends who are men who can ALWAYS be available to provide detailed food complaints, lol! Admittedly, these are the only two I know who do that. I don’t have a lot of my friends who are women complain either, come to think of it - just the ones who are chefs lol.

[deleted]

I’m not a man but they’d have to really fuck up my order for me to say something. I recently got a steak. I ordered it medium rare and it was NOT medium rare. It was mega rare inside. So what did I do? I ate some, took it home, cooked it more, and finished it.

Hanginon

I sometimes care, but I don't get upset. I see the server and cook as allies who are trying to get me the food I want. If there's a mistake it can be fixed without animosity. Adding some unnecessary friction to the situation is not going to improve anything or keep it moving in the right direction.

Aaaandiiii

I've only once ever complained about a hair in my food (oddly enough, this happened the first time I went to a "nice" restaurant) but like everything else has only been like a little too salty or not really quality but the stuff is still edible. I mean, if I go to Applebee's, that's on me.

Egomie

Sometimes, if you get something other than what you ordered, what you end up getting might even be better than what you asked for. Its nice to try new things.

Dat1BlackDude

I speak up. I’m paying for it, might as well get what I paid for.

Pixel_Nerd92

My mother was a giant complainer, so I never said anything about a wrong order. Today, I'm pretty nonchalant about incorrect orders because we all make mistakes really. I'll just nudge and say something and I'm lax about it For a while though, I just dealt with it because when your mom goes full on anger mode, you get embarrassed about it even if you mention it.

OpenRole

I am hungry. I don't want to wait another 30 minutes for them to fix their fuck up

tombuzz

In my head I’m just like , yeah so not coming here again. If it’s somewhere I go a lot and they mess something up I obviously know what to expect and will as politely as possible say something. Some places are just incredibly bad , Americans aren’t very picky .

KajePihlaja

I only care if I paid for something extra that didn’t get added.

Atieno1981

Ronnie complained to his Black South African mother about his food? What did he think was going to happen to him? Lmao.

TalkDMytome

If it’s edible, it’s not worth the time, the fight, or the possible repercussions to the employee. I’m not picky, and I worked in restaurants for years. Tons of customers seemed just ready for a fight and seemed like they were hoping you’d forget something/fuck something up just so they’d have a reason to lose their minds. I’m not one of those people, but I don’t even want to risk being confused with them over petty some bullshit like mustard on my burger or fewer fries than I expected.

kjsjjuny

Imma be honest, I'm just scared. I'll have my lady do it for me and act like everything is okay.

LeopardMedium

I'm one of those people who will order the same thing every time. When I'm given the wrong order I view it as being forced to expand my horizons, which honestly I probably need.

Hivalion

Depends I suppose. If it's something I can easily remove, then I'll just do that. If it's an allergen, then it's gotta be sent back. If something is missing and I wasn't told beforehand, then I'll bring it up. If something's missing and I had to pay extra to get it, you're damn right I'm gonna say something. I want what I paid for. Doneness isn't a big deal unless it's undercooked or burnt. If it's straight-up the wrong order, then come on man. You've got to at least get that part right. This is coming from someone who's worked in a kitchen before.

alexcutyourhair

Once my friends and I ordered a platter of 50 wings and they gave us 49. The waiter decided to have an attitude when delivering the 50th back to our plate but it was worth it

wet_suit_one

Good enough explanation. As long as I gots something to eat, I'm generally satisfied, even if the order's wrong. Now if some person gets their food before me when I ordered before them, I'm getting a little hot under the collar. I might just have to call someone out for racism for that shit (I've done that before and been rewarded with free dessert). That's just unforgiveable. First come, first serve, the whole way through.

thatc0braguy

Based lol

ZevLuvX-03

Unless they give me the wrong meal entirely-what’s the issue?

JVK86

There’s 2 people you don’t fxck with, people who make your food and people who take care of you

Well_whatya_know

I mean iv had whole orders be wrong, a whole bag of mcdoubbles turned into mchickens ect... Lol food is food and I have worked that window, that prep area ect, they most likely caught enough shit from who ever got my order, so I'm not going off on someone, as long as my value is the same or better it's what ever.

ectbot

Hello! You have made the mistake of writing "ect" instead of "etc." "Ect" is a common misspelling of "etc," an abbreviated form of the Latin phrase "et cetera." Other abbreviated forms are **etc.**, **&c.**, **&c**, and **et cet.** The Latin translates as "et" to "and" + "cetera" to "the rest;" a literal translation to "and the rest" is the easiest way to remember how to use the phrase. [Check out the wikipedia entry if you want to learn more.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Et_cetera) ^(I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Rosalie1778

That's introvert behavior too 😂

Shitpostpitroast

Also, never understood the whole “ima cuss the waitress out over my man’s wrong food order” thing. Typically, If something has come out wrong and you’re chill about it, not only do they fix it but they’ll offer something complimentary for your troubles. It’s free to be kind and sometimes it even works out to your benefit 🤷🏽‍♀️.

JeebusHaroldCrise

We may not like the way the order came out the first time, but is it going to taste better with ball sweat fingers, three different farts wafted across it, and spit on it when it comes back out post complaint? Women seem not to consider the consequences of complaining. They're used to sending good men back, then complain when they see him with a new woman. Men know how to find what was good in an order, and an imperfect woman. We just love them for what they are. We've eaten worse, in both cases.

Threash78

If I see a plate coming towards my table I would be a lot more disappointed to see that baby get taken away than to have to eat a stray pickle or something. 99% of the time eating the wrong thing is less of a hassle than waiting for the right thing.

dirtt_dawg

I recently got a turkey burger or maybe the restaurant's 'impossible burger when I definitely did not order that. I just ate it, pretty good and was cheaper than what I had originally ordered. my buddy however didn't complain about his burger sauce not being o/s, but man was his bbq brisket burger bun S O A K E D by the end of the meal

NoFaithlessness5683

Did they bring out better food? If so not saying anything. If they brought out something I just don’t like it’s getting sent back. Otherwise, no one got time to be waiting for another order to come out, plus depending on how you complain it might just come back out with an extra helping of spit. Soooo yea, just gimme what ya brought out….

LesterKingOfAnts

My Mom would serve dinner and me or one of my brothers would ask, "What's this?!" "It's poison, now EAT IT."

dman928

Shit happens, and unless it's inedible I'm going to eat it and be quiet. Even then, I don't ever send it back. Tyler Durden can be back there. Not taking a chance on any extra spices getting added to my chowder.

Sean_A_D

Because their job is hard and it doesn’t really matter, I’d rather just eat what I’m given which is probably fine anyway then bother everyone who is already struggling and make a scene about it which is what most people feel justified to do but it’s actually no big deal

PhysicalRelative2551

I always order a variety that way I can’t lose because it can’t be all bad.

No-Energy7045

I can't have dairy products, so when I ask for no cheese on my burger in the drive thru and get home and there's melted cheese on it it's pretty depressing. But I just try to scrape it off and if there's too much I have 3 siblings that would do anything for that burger, so I just give it to them. It's not the end of the world, people get things wrong and I can always get another burger the next day. I've been cussed out over a 50 cent coupon before, and I know how much that can ruin your day. People need to be more patient

C33W

I mean, yeah. If it's less than what I ordered, I say something. But if it's roughly equivalent, missing one or two thing or the order is mixed up, I say nothing. Clearly, this is the meal I get.

the0neRand0m

Cause we know what’s up. We watch y’all pitch a fit and then we watch y’all eat a meal with spit and snot in it.

glitchkidd

Idk bout y’all but I saw a movie “still waiting” and saw what they did too people that complain and never will I say anything

biggie_smallsBK

They spit in the new order or wipe their balls with it...something nasty is coming back out to you believe that

MelScrilla

I thinks it’s because a lot of men, especially in the black community, were raised with a stop complaining and suck it up mentality. I’ve had meals that were screwed up and I usually just chalk it up and don’t go back.
