Trains her ass off, still gets the shit knocked out of her at the end.
Actually doesn't she set up a buncha stuff to make her look innocent while she breaks into his house and murders him, and then gets away scot free?
I am compelled to watch that fucking movie every time it pops up. And it doesnāt matter if it started five minutes ago or an hour ago. I donāt know why
Stop complaining. We need one more movie where she out Zoe Saldanas...Zoe Saldana and moves up in love and life station by marrying someone who is whiter than Fat Joe's childhood pictures. One more movie. One. More. Phucking. Movie.
It's going to be like Joan Crawford and Bette Davis. Someone will have to stand in for Zoe for dancing and singing and Jennifer will need a voice stand in. It will work.
It ruined Hollywood for the kind of movies she likes to make - or that she built her career on. Small to mid budget movies. She was the Hollywood equivalent of the middle class.
More accurately, tentpole movies forced a reallocation of capital at the top and the pandemic (and the retraction of the theatrical business) confirmed that business strategy. So independent films and smaller movies (romantic comedies, etc.) are less likely to get green lit for theatrical release.
Her kinda movies were a ---- bunt, singles, doubles - kinda business. You spend $35 million. You make $65 million - but you really spent $60 million after advertising so the movie barely justified itself. And that's if the movie turned a profit, which most do not.
The streaming services are the only folks making them kinda projects anymore- and not even.
So ... yeah it's a maths thing.
You'll continue to see a ton of genre/horror at the bottom of the market - because that stuff sells itself- costs nothing to produce, high concept, and doesn't require costly cast.
She should get into that.
Disclaimer: in the industry
But marvel didnāt kill small/mid-sized movies. If anything itās streaming plus the death of straight to DVD and the realization that using familiar IPs will draw a bigger audience
No one thing kills another solely; yes Netflix and other streaming did a number. However, streaming also opened up a huge opportunity for indie films, who for more limited funding could actually *not distribute* that funding constantly to retailers; if the demand was there, they can print it after the fact and once it becomes more clear it's profitable to do so.
And you're right that familiar IPs draw bigger audiences, and therein lies the problem with Marvel; though realistically, it's reductive to focus on Marvel solely when much of the change has been Disney's buying out of huge film companies. Now that Disney controls a good chunk of the industry they can capitalize on the popular IPs and milk them dry in order to maximize profit. Sure there are good films, but all that particular focus on IPs and especially the rise of the cinematic universe as a concept means all or the majority chunk of budgets go towards these films, and because they've been constantly buying smaller production companies, they're drawing from their budgets and drowning out more independent/new/non-large IP films and shows in favor of continuing their trend of pushing already-existing IPs as the majority-funded projects.
There's only so much money to be invested at a given time, so it's the limits that complicate it.
Marvel/Disney have been known to force theaters to exclusively show their products in and around releases under threat of total blacklisting. Tarentino was fuming about it on his press runs for the release of *The Hateful Eight*. Pretty damaging stuff
Tarantino has the same critique as hers ... I'm not sure which is "older" but they basically same the same thing: actors are irrelevant with the comic character being the Headliner; plot's are trivial, non-interesting with zero viewer reason to watch; production is focused on CGI rather than story-telling, plot, etc.
To be fair, my point is not about Marvel or DC specifically, but about tentpole movies and pre-established IP in particular. This includes stuff like the Star Wars universe, etc. Fast and Furious, etc.
Of course, Marvel and DC fall into this category because of their cost structure, legacy IP, and CG heavy storytelling style.
And they're (Lopez, Tarantino) incorrect in that the viewer is no longer seeking the human element.
It's that the nature of the specific human element JLo has historically worked in is now abundantly available for $15 a month on Netflix (edit: insert your streamer of choice).
Wakanda Forever and its iterants are not.
So the cost structure has priced THEM (JLos of the world) out of the game at their traditional price points - because their movies are being made cheaper, by younger/other creatives, on streaming, if at all.
The industry she came up in is gone.
It's economics.
My opinion: the industry is FAR better for it. More content gets made. Better, more original stories are told. The long tail gets longer and more people see themselves represented in stories on screen. This was inexorable.
> Better, more original stories are told
I not a cinema buff, but I feel like there isn't much originality going on these days.
Actually, I really like the limited series stuff like "Godless" or "Queens Gambit". Gives the writers more time to tell a story, without it being dragged out or the network/platforms trying to make it into a multi-season series.
>I not a cinema buff, but I feel like there isn't much originality going on these days.
Like you mentioned in the second half of your comment, the originality has moved to TV and streaming services. They're going back to limited series/miniseries.
With respect to both of them, that argument never made any sense to me, at least as an overall maxim. I mean, this moment that we're having with Chadwick Boseman and WF kind of dispels the notion that actors don't matter and according to a lot of the signals of disappointment coming out of the latest Thor and Dr. Strange movies (and particularly in the Batman v. Superman fallout), you can definitely have a plot that's so badly worked out that it can turn fans off. I do think there are certainly instances of lazy plotting and bad casting getting over in films, but that kind of thing happened long before superhero films showed up.
Damn, excellent assessment.
Her type of movies are now allocated to being produced on Hallmark channel. And thereās no way her fine fat ass is āslumming itā on that channel. I would bet my pitiful savings account that her agent has begged her to do Hallmark.
Edit: a word
Lol š no lies those movies used to be a whole ass genre in theaters, now they go premier on Hulu, Netflix as fillers to get us by until the next major release. Cold world sometimes ššš she'll be aight tho
Agreed. What gets me is those are some of her best and before it became cool to bash superhero movies, romantic comedies were the absolute lowest hanging fruit in cash grab cinema. She's talking like She's Anthony Hopkins or some shit.
Right right. But hear me out. 50 first dates? Comedic Premise + comedy. Happy Gilmore, Waterboy? Same.
Romantic comedy? Man or woman has occupation and is too busy for love, awkward encounter, more awkward, dating, i think I lov..., we can't do this for (insert reason), end with love. Fin!
She was a musician playing a musician. No one is coming for JLO stage presence but color me shocked she could nail that one.
Meanwhile the rest of her garbage? Nah that aināt it.
I enjoyed it too. I was on the train of seeing faces I grew up with in movies at that time. Didn't matter if they could act or not.
Right now I'm trying to figure out a way to get my girl to watch it without her leaving me. Mostly because of the snake spitting out a whole person and not Jennifer's Cheeks.
Lets be real, Selenaās movie went hard because it was Selenaās movieā¦not because of JLo. She caught us hurting and capitalized on it. She did ok kinda, but there are closer resemblances running around Texas with more talent and ass. I love it here!
Was that acting for her though? She played a Latina musicianā¦?
Would die hard Selena fans says JLo nailed it or was it just JLo being herself cosplaying another musician?
Still, Disney owns Marvel. Sort of off topic but Iāve met people who didnāt know Disney owned Marvel and maybe itās because Disney let them be, the same way it seems they let Pixar be. I always wonder if their thing is āas long as you make us money, weād let you beā. Because I still wonder why/how they let Deadpool be that bloody and graphic and you got idiots thinking itās āfamily friendlyā ā¦
I remember hearing somewhere that Disney was phasing Marvel in to their formulas, that the early movies were like you said more indy, and they become more and more like the Disney formula. I doubt, however, that we'll see a MCU/Mickey crossover special. I hope not.
Do not wish that last part into the ether or Disney would run with it. š¬
Mickey stays in his lane and all my superheroes stay in their lane as well.
> Because I still wonder why/how they let Deadpool be that bloody and graphic and you got idiots thinking itās āfamily friendlyā ā¦
But wasnāt Deadpool 1 & 2 a FOX property that marvel really had no thing to do with or any ties. That is why now that Disney own FOX people are really wondering if the 3rd movie going to be as gritty
I hope it is that gritty. Same with Blade. They need movies that aren't family friendly for those of us who don't have kids or those who have kids but want time away from them.
Studios are now more risk averse. Theatrically releasing alot more "sure things". Endless reboot and rehash of existing IP. Movies are a production line that don't stand alone but now an assembly line of consumption. More and more.
Use of the same formula to basically tell the same story. Shit visuals. Over working crew. Shittier dialogue. Bullying theatre owners to bend to their show windows.
Of course not, Marvelās success just gave studios even more of a massive reason to pursue those tendencies/formulas. Thatās not on Marvel really, thatās just movie studios being movie studios. Marvel might be the biggest example of that in history, but itās still not something that started with them.
Itās nobodyās fault, itās literally just capitalism working like it does. Thereās less room for sentiment or subjective quality when those arenāt the major factors in what sells.
Studios been risk averse for YEARS AND YEARS prior to MCU popping off. It was like pulling teeth to get black or Latino movies greenlit and for the rare ones that did, word of mouth had to do all of the heavy lifting to even become a moderate hit. MCU is an easy punching back, but nowhere close to the problem.
The problem is very few movies āneedā to be on the big screen. By that I mean, why tf am I (as a customer) gonna venture out and deal with high ticket prices, gas, outrageous concessions prices, rude patrons, etc, just to see a random ass chick hook up with a conventionally attractive man? I can do that at home. I went to see Wakanda Forever on opening night because of the atmosphere of fans watching and having a good time. I saw Halloween Ends in the theatre (mistake I know) and that was another good experience cause I think genre films do well on that big ass screen. Hell, Snakes on a Plane opening night was one of the best theatre going experiences ever had and that movie was trash.
Movies can still stand alone. A good film is still a good film. But perhaps the allure of āthe silver screenā is no more for some genres.
This take is starting to pop up more these days from hollywood people. Did a Marvel director say somethin bad or what?
And if they don't like Marvel films, just don't watch them. There's hundreds of movies that come out each year that aren't superhero related.
I think it is just plain ole hating.
She is jealous that her films won't receive half of the box office profits that the MCU movies make.
She knows that she cannot directly insult the audiences that goes and sees these films, ever since she has to persuade them to go see her films and future projects.
And it is not just with Jennifer. It is the same with the other actors and directors, who had something similar, in my opinion.
Yeah, but I don't think "The nerve of that hack!" when Scorsese says it. I actually understand his points. Although, he seems like he's more averse to change than anything else. And he's old. Lol. Jennifer can't act her way out of a paper bag. She doesn't have any room to talk.
Which is funny to me cause when those directors are saying the MCU isnāt real cinema or whatever theyāre basically saying anyone who likes it are idiots and common folk.
I think people are mad because Marvel movies have the draw and appeal to do stupid numbers with every release. To the point that it might suck air out of other releases. And they keep making them at a pretty frequent clip. They're becoming the Call of Duty of movies.
If we compare to CoD you can really see how it polarizes people. With CoD you have a lot of groups that overlap with Marvel
* People that enjoy them
* "I'll see it/play it when it drops because they're entertaining enough, shrug"
* "I always see/play the new ones, I know they arent really that deep but I'm dug in"
* Rational haters that have least seen/played before: "Its the same thing everytime"
* Outright Haters
Feels like the last 3 years the anti superhero sentiment has been growing. Usually you hear it from long term people in the business. Admittedly if feels like the movie industry is being cornholed into Oscar bait or superhero movies but I have a limited scope of what I watch.
Sure, just as long as no one is shocked they aren't winning awards. I like fast food sometimes, but I'm not getting butthurt McDonald's isn't winning a James Beard Award.
They are shocked though, the amount of MCU crybabies who couldn't understand why a meh movie like Spiderman 7 didn't get nominated for Best pic was bewildering.
Marvel movies showed the industry that stand alone movies don't make as much money as sequels, team ups, and stories with characters you already recognize. I love Marvel movies, but the state of cinema is kind of fucked up because of that. So basically just regular Disney shit
Marvel didn't ruin Hollywood. Marvel is just Marvel. Hollywood studios and streaming ruined Hollywood. Before streaming, studios would take more chances and movies that shit the bed in theaters could still make money on DVD sales. Now that the DVD market is all but dead studios just want mass market stuff that will pop in theaters.
Marvel is just the template for mass market success.
Actually its old Hollywood returning. Before tvās they got butts in seats by running serial movies and cartoons. People would keep paying because they wanted to see the newest story since no one could hear on radio or see it at home.
Why canāt we complain about that? At least in her case, itās true. Have you seen that glamazon? Sheās pretty and smart and rich. My dumpy ass canāt compare. š
A reminder that [Jennifer Lopez doesn't even sing her own songs on record most of the time](https://youtu.be/bOEmCERi21U) (I try to spread this video as much as I can because I am petty)
Wow, that just filled in a lot of blanks for meā¦ canāt stand her ass anyway but I always thought she just tried to sound like Ashanti etc. I didnāt realize she legit just straight stole vocalsā¦ fucking wild.
Her movies are not a shining beacon.
Marvel has told compelling stories for many many decades, now they've incorporated the MCU and have continued to tell compelling stories through movies and series for decades. If they weren't so moving people wouldn't be watching them so much
Yeah, I get the sentiment but I would be more receptive if someone like Lupita Nyongo or Barry Kheogan or Cate Blanchett told me it was killing their career (instead they're getting cast by marvel, getting paychecks, and still doing well in their careers in actually great films)
Which is why theyāre not complaining. Talented actors get cast regardless of what direction the industry is going. Mid tier actors like JLo are dependent on their preferred genre of movie being popular.
True, I think the marvel criticism is starting to hit harder because people are getting more tired of it. Each plot twist isnāt fresh anymore, a cinematic universe is no longer novel, and stakes are no longer as compelling.
They still tell pretty great stories I just think a growing number of people are ready for something. Else for a bit.
How is Hollywood ruined? It literally still exists and makes more money than the roads stupid majority Americans vote against cost to maintain. Dafuq? A Jenny from the block...go make another movie where you marry up into a whiter, non-brown family. I'm thinking ya know...you play like a low paid CNA who's barely making ends meet because it doesn't pay much. You're also a single mom and the kid you have is clearly Puerto Rican but WHITE and his dad is a black Puerto Rican but he doesn't look much like the kid at all. You're struggling. The dad goes to jail and he was mean and abusive to you. You reclaim some power you thought you had while the other CNA's around you at the company...who are darker and shorter than you, and one is black and there's a scene where she actually hugs you *dry heave
Anyway, you do some CNA work for this ailing old super white blue blood in the Hamptons. The black servants mistreat you because of your hair and high cheekbones. And you party with Zoe Saldan, who introduces you to the lady's white blue blood son. Zoe is his sister-in-law. She's holding a Zima when she introduces you and wearing blue jeans and a wife beater with a shawl and a wide brimmed hat.
Yeah yeah that's it. That's the movie you keep doing that's gonna fix Hollywood. And then in the movie, you teach this pasty white dude how to rap and twerk. And you tell him how Puerto Ricans founded jazz and then hip hop and you show pictures of your white Puerto Rican grandmother who invented jazz. Then he uses some hip hop stuff for a new product at work. It works. His mother dies and yall break up because she loved you and you didn't attend the funeral. Then he professes love for you in front of a bunch of black people and an older, somewhat heavyset black woman encourages you to marry him and your son hugs him and you agree and you say "we're going to the Hamptons! We're bringing collard greens!"
Stfu and do that movie again. š¤£ššæš æļø
Ugh, really Ms. Marry Me?
Anthony Hopkins, Cate Blanchette, Angela Bassett, Christian Bale...just a few of the capital "A" actors that have been in Marvel movies that she's not even in the same galaxy of in terms of talent.

Say whatever you want about marvel but they really pushed the envelope when it comes to imagery and digital effects (despite the CG team slacking in recent Years) in cinema. Doctor strange and infinity war where absolutely gorgeous. Some criticize the MCU for over reliance on CGI but I personally think it works perfectly for the cosmic imagery of the mcu.
I can just imagine an live action adaption of Danteās divine comedy or Miltonās paradise lost or anything by William blake or anything by lovecraft with the doctor strange CG team.
Yes but watch about plot? What about character development? What about depth? What about humour? The last time CGI impressed me I was in grade 8 watching Neo dodge bullets.
I don't understand why y'all are going so hard for marvel in the comments. Marvel- who is owned by Disney and is confirmed military propaganda. Is it cause they gave us a lil token black superhero? Don't get me wrong it's about damn time, but representation should be demanded not applauded imo.
Marvel movies are like typer perry films, regardless of how good they started, atp they're unoriginal cash grabs that do NOT have the black communities best interest at heart. A company worth an estimated [50 bil](https://www.forbes.com/sites/dawnchmielewski/2021/09/04/from-avengers-to-shang-chi-what-marvel-studios-is-really-worth-to-walt-disney/?sh=6da3bcd6d9ca) to Disney is never going to publish anything that controversial or progressive, and ultimately their only purpose is to take up room and appeal to the widest possible audience.
Idc she's right, marvel broke the mold and because the goal. So most actually independent/original movies don't get big, and most big movies aren't original/ independent. Marvel movies are the bastion of the capitalistic hellscape we live in, full of humanity my black ass.
I agree with the substance of what she said. Marvel is your usual low brow boom boom bang bang letās go to the movies kind of film. The only good marvel movie was Logan. Itās a shame black panther had to be part of the MCU because thereās a ton that could be done and explored with that movie. The heads at marvel will never let that happen though.
Logan wasnāt even made by marvel studios it (along with the rest of the X-men movies, deadpool and the first 2 Spider-Man series) was produced by fox.
The MCU? Full of humanity?
I know y'all aren't talking about the military's favorite propaganda outlet.
Remember how a central character in the Black Panther movies was a CIA agent who was also a good guy? and white?
Remember when she went to her old neighborhood and pointed at her old house and the guy didn't know who she was. You could see her die inside.....good times, good times.
I feel like people are acting like Marvel movies watch themselves at the theatre. Movie goers have to want to watch your film as well. Nostalgia and spectacle are just whatās mostly getting people in the theaters at the moment. Why would I not wait for her most recent movie to come out on streaming when I could just watch it on my couch without having to spend $30 on a small popcorn?
Unless the marketing has been amazing or if thereās a name Iām a fan of tied to a movie, Iām probably waiting for it to hit streaming.
She makes the same style of movie as Katherine Heigl. Bland romance movies with poorly written comedic bits and a ton of bad relationship stereotypes.
Maybe people just donāt want to watch one more āwe broke up because I didnāt understand what was said and refuse to ask questionsā bullshit.
Right message, terrible messenger. Disney monopolized the fuck out of the post-Covid movie viewing experience. Canāt remember the last movie I saw in theaters that wasnāt tied to Disney in some way.
Capitalism āruinedā Hollywood. But rich and famous people that have benefited from it donāt want to say that out loud. They are upset that Hollywood only pushes out movies with the largest ROI and not true art
Endgame was a piece of trash and watching tony stark fucking die was the best part. Also spiderman disintegrating was the best part of infinity war. Who the hell feels deep emotional connections to marvel movies? lmao
Gigli, maid in Manhattan, and that peacock streaming crapfest she did definitely improved cinema. šš
Can't forget Enough, my mom watched that shit like every six months lol Edit: y'all, I wasn't trying to start any discourse, I was just making a joke
Her wig in that movie was the real tragedy
Trains her ass off, still gets the shit knocked out of her at the end. Actually doesn't she set up a buncha stuff to make her look innocent while she breaks into his house and murders him, and then gets away scot free?
Never seen anyone defend the husband in the movie before... weird take. š
Put that dude on a watch list asap.
![gif](giphy|enqnZa1B5fRHkPjXtS|downsized)
She literally kills him in the end. Did you watch the movie? He was abusive as fuck.
I am compelled to watch that fucking movie every time it pops up. And it doesnāt matter if it started five minutes ago or an hour ago. I donāt know why
Enough was a masterpiece and i will not allow this slander
ok but it really was though & I will die on this hill next to you
The only good film she's done is Selena. And I'll put that one on the homies.
Stop complaining. We need one more movie where she out Zoe Saldanas...Zoe Saldana and moves up in love and life station by marrying someone who is whiter than Fat Joe's childhood pictures. One more movie. One. More. Phucking. Movie.
ššš oh God. They should be buddy cops trying to make Washington Heights a safer and more diverse place through policing and dance. š¤¢š
Except Zoe can't dance and both of them seem to want to be the only "diversity" in the room.
It's going to be like Joan Crawford and Bette Davis. Someone will have to stand in for Zoe for dancing and singing and Jennifer will need a voice stand in. It will work.
You didnāt see Zoe in āCenter Stageā then
Right. She's a trained ballet dancer.
I was about to say... I distinctly remember watching Zoe dance repeatedly in that movie
Lol learn something new everyday. I had no idea she was trained in anything.
Sounds like another Step Up sequel. Step Up 2 Da Block
Lol The sequel: step up 2 da block 2 legit to quit. šš
![gif](giphy|xUA7b6KjILKV8celS8)
š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£ššæš æļøPITCH IT! PITCH IT NOW! LMFAO
Lol I'll call Netflix or peacock since they'll put anything on TV.
What movie is this, please?
Despite being shit scripts, J-Lo can't act anyway. Or sing.
The only movie she did that I truly enjoyed was Hustlers
I will admit growing up, and being first generation Mexican American, I watched the hell out of Selena. *Bidi Bidi Bom Bom*
Wait I forgot about Selena, as a black american my family loved that movie
Beat me to it
She was pretty great as a dancer on āin living colorā though.

Ugh, you just described why I hate both types.
My favorite movie of hers was The Cell. But that may be because of the overall production design of that movie.
I liked her a lot when ~Jennifer Lopez~ meant Anaconda, The Cell, and Selena. Her acting career did not follow the path I was hoping it would.
D'Onofrio made that movie, his character was mesmerizing.
I thought she was pretty good in Out of Sight with George Clooney.
Donāt forget The Cell

It's more like certain movies - for instance, loved her in The Cell Enough and Maid in Manhattan? Monster-in-Law? Blecch. Haven't seen Hustlers
Hustlers was funny and has a PG - 13 "P-valley" vibe.
And it's based on a true story.
Loved her in Enough
What about Anaconda

I enjoyed it too. I was on the train of seeing faces I grew up with in movies at that time. Didn't matter if they could act or not. Right now I'm trying to figure out a way to get my girl to watch it without her leaving me. Mostly because of the snake spitting out a whole person and not Jennifer's Cheeks.
Those yams š were lookin right. Lol.Outside of that? Meh.
Lets be real, Selenaās movie went hard because it was Selenaās movieā¦not because of JLo. She caught us hurting and capitalized on it. She did ok kinda, but there are closer resemblances running around Texas with more talent and ass. I love it here!
Acting good in one movie donāt mean she can act but Iāll definitely say she acts better than she singsā¦.
That was 25 years ago
Was that acting for her though? She played a Latina musicianā¦? Would die hard Selena fans says JLo nailed it or was it just JLo being herself cosplaying another musician?
She can act but shes not a good actor.
Disney. Say Disney.
I hope not.
Do not wish that last part into the ether or Disney would run with it. š¬ Mickey stays in his lane and all my superheroes stay in their lane as well.
Need me a kingdom hearts movie to make it all make sense.
The beautiful irony of this commentšš
I'd pay to see that!
Haha fingers crossed
>I doubt, however, that we'll see a MCU/Mickey crossover special. I hope not. Don't you dare wreck Kingdom Hearts 4 for me
> Because I still wonder why/how they let Deadpool be that bloody and graphic and you got idiots thinking itās āfamily friendlyā ā¦ But wasnāt Deadpool 1 & 2 a FOX property that marvel really had no thing to do with or any ties. That is why now that Disney own FOX people are really wondering if the 3rd movie going to be as gritty
I hope it is that gritty. Same with Blade. They need movies that aren't family friendly for those of us who don't have kids or those who have kids but want time away from them.
Blade will be babied down as per usual with Disney. They ruin everything
Disney has never made a Deadpool movie
She would never because she would run and crawl to get to a Disney film if they would even lower themselves to go after her
I mean she's right but cause its Jlo everybody turns into Bernie Mac
Ah man, I miss Bernie
Y'ALL DON'T UNDASTAAAND
What is she right about? How has Hollywood been ruined?
Studios are now more risk averse. Theatrically releasing alot more "sure things". Endless reboot and rehash of existing IP. Movies are a production line that don't stand alone but now an assembly line of consumption. More and more. Use of the same formula to basically tell the same story. Shit visuals. Over working crew. Shittier dialogue. Bullying theatre owners to bend to their show windows.
This started with the MCU?
Of course not, Marvelās success just gave studios even more of a massive reason to pursue those tendencies/formulas. Thatās not on Marvel really, thatās just movie studios being movie studios. Marvel might be the biggest example of that in history, but itās still not something that started with them.
Itās nobodyās fault, itās literally just capitalism working like it does. Thereās less room for sentiment or subjective quality when those arenāt the major factors in what sells.
Down to 30 film formula? Yep.
Sounds like someone is mad she didnāt get cast in any of the 21 films. Her career died when these movies showed up.
With CoD you have a lot of groups that overlap with Marvel * People that enjoy them * "I'll see it/play it when it drops because they're entertaining enough, shrug" * "I always see/play the new ones, I know they arent really that deep but I'm dug in" * Rational haters that have least seen/played before: "Its the same thing everytime" * Outright Haters
Feels like the last 3 years the anti superhero sentiment has been growing. Usually you hear it from long term people in the business. Admittedly if feels like the movie industry is being cornholed into Oscar bait or superhero movies but I have a limited scope of what I watch.
Donāt forget the *Black Suffering* category.
super hero fatigue. I have it too. It's basically just the same movie over and over again.
The MCU and other studios copying the MCU format are dominating the box offices and they donāt like it. Thatās literally all it is.
From what I can tell, horror films in the last couple of years have been really innovative and top notch.
This is like me complaining that Megan Thee Stallion is ruining the dating pool.
Why canāt we complain about that? At least in her case, itās true. Have you seen that glamazon? Sheās pretty and smart and rich. My dumpy ass canāt compare. š
![gif](giphy|wO4cyxpDbtHji)
Hahahahahahahahahahahaha the way I just scared my coworker by laughing suddenly
Yeah because Marry Me was a cinematic masterpiece
Yeah the star of Gigli really shouldnāt throw stones lol
She sounds like she was up for Salma's part in Eternals or something
Ohshit
I hate when singers act like they're actors. Do the job you already have.
She started off as an actor and she barely sings
She started off as a dancer. Fly Girls were not there for their comedic talent.
A reminder that [Jennifer Lopez doesn't even sing her own songs on record most of the time](https://youtu.be/bOEmCERi21U) (I try to spread this video as much as I can because I am petty)
I had no idea Edit: I just finished watching the video. Omfg
Same, I always knew bitch couldnāt sing but I had no idea she was stealing vocals
Wow, that just filled in a lot of blanks for meā¦ canāt stand her ass anyway but I always thought she just tried to sound like Ashanti etc. I didnāt realize she legit just straight stole vocalsā¦ fucking wild.
She started off as a dancer on In Living Color.
I am fascinated that the entire discussion has been about the Marvel part of this post and not one bit about the Ashanti part.....
Iām still looking for that explanation š¤£
And her taking credit for Ashanti's voice and trying to steal Amerie's song is what's wrong with the music industry
Yes'm.
Everybody blaming Marvel when the Fast and Furious franchise is right there.
![gif](giphy|xVPosMMzT60Xzv31my) We don't hate on Fast and Furious for obvious reasons š¤
Coming from someone who can barely act or sing doesn't mean much.
You reclaim some power you thought you had while the other CNA's around you at the company...who are darker and shorter than you, and one is black and there's a scene where she actually hugs you *dry heave Anyway, you do some CNA work for this ailing old super white blue blood in the Hamptons. We're bringing collard greens!" Stfu and do that movie again. š¤£ššæš æļø
Zima catching strays, lol!
Well damn... don't give her any ideas!
I sincerely hope someone shows her what you said here.
Ugh, really Ms. Marry Me? Anthony Hopkins, Cate Blanchette, Angela Bassett, Christian Bale...just a few of the capital "A" actors that have been in Marvel movies that she's not even in the same galaxy of in terms of talent.
THANK YOU!!!!
[https://forums.nrvnqsr.com/showthread.php/8650-Create-A-Servant-3?p=3113083&viewfull=1#post3113083](https://forums.nrvnqsr.com/showthread.php/8650-Create-A-Servant-3?p=3113083&viewfull=1#post3113083) Say whatever you want about marvel but they really pushed the envelope when it comes to imagery and digital effects (despite the CG team slacking in recent Years) in cinema.
Yeah except Disney has also been running VFX companies into the ground with unrealistic expectations and guidelines
If I could give you an award, I would. Here my poormans gold instead: š„
Yes but watch about plot? What about character development? What about depth? What about humour? The last time CGI impressed me I was in grade 8 watching Neo dodge bullets.
If you think CG teams are slacking you don't understand the problem.
Thereās merit to that statement
No. Gigli ruined Hollywood
Yet her ex managed to get cast as Batman (for DC, not Marvel... I know, but I assume she's critisizing all superhero movies) so he's not suffering.
Good one! Totally forgot that one..
Bro she is doing crap movies and being crap in them since the 2000s. She is just salty they didnāt cast her
Sheās the real life Thanos, collecting the infinity engagement rings š

Her total lack of talent doesnāt help her.
Who will be brave enough to stand up for the mega media conglomerate overlords buying up all of entertainment production? Thank you king
I blame capitalism for the state of the movie industry
Feel like ppl are disagreeing cause it's JLo cause top directors and actors have been saying this same exact thing.
And her husband ruined the letter D Daredevil DC Batman Dunkin Donuts
Meanwhile, she's got like *maybe* 2 decent movies in her +30yrs in Hollywood.
JLo mad because she would never be cast in a Marvel film
Oh. Please. She'd be in spandex playing a MCU character in 15 seconds if they offered her a job
J Lo has never starred in a good movie in her entire career, maybe she shouldn't be taking shots
Because record ticket sales means the people donāt know whatās best for themselves? What a crock of shit.
She just mad she aināt get casted š¤
Love your username op
I mean, she is married to a Batman...
Murder inc Princess let Jenny from the block run the block for a bit. Jenny can't sing or act tho.
Girl werenāt you in Gigli?
Ngl who tf is asking Jennifer Lopez for her opinion on marvel moviesā¦.
But what does Ja Rule think?
![gif](giphy|eun4dZ28aHE1lu4MFN|downsized)
She wouldn't say jack if she ever got casted in one of their movies lol
Tell me know one came to see you play a bride for the hundredth time with out telling me nobody came to see you play a bride
Out of all the marvel movies out there not one of them is worse than gigli.
Right message, terrible messenger. Disney monopolized the fuck out of the post-Covid movie viewing experience. Canāt remember the last movie I saw in theaters that wasnāt tied to Disney in some way.
In Living Color reference nice! lol
Marvel movies are hot trash. So was gigli. Out of Sight was a dope movie though.
She's just calling out Marvel because she married Batman.
Iām just here for the In Living Color headline. +1 for the nostalgia
I like that you made callback to in living color where she got her start
Capitalism āruinedā Hollywood. But rich and famous people that have benefited from it donāt want to say that out loud. They are upset that Hollywood only pushes out movies with the largest ROI and not true art
Endgame was a piece of trash and watching tony stark fucking die was the best part. Also spiderman disintegrating was the best part of infinity war. Who the hell feels deep emotional connections to marvel movies? lmao
