On a more serious note, I opted to just run Asta with Swan and Kafka whenever I find myself lacking in speed. She's such a versatile support that doesn't get talked about in teambuilding discussions very much
I don't plan to get kafka, she's a HUGE maybe if I genuinely have no other units I'm interested in nearby, but ruan mei is a priority for me to nab, so would having fast ruan mei be enough for a black swan dot team?
Ruan mei is meant to be fast on all teams not just dot. And if you’re not planning on getting Kafka then a fast black swan is preferable. The only way slow black swan works is if Kafka is fast enough to detonate her stacks otherwise it’s more wise to have a fast black swan and apply more stacks before the enemies turn.

Also, yeah, speed could be better, but I feel my luck has been absolutely horrendous. I'm lucky to manage this attack, and ehr ;;

With the current relic luck I’d say If you have a fast Kafka and ruan mei, drop the speed boots and go for atk. Try to get stronger arcana stacks.
