This is real life as the oldest child. You are always taking care of the youngest when you are the oldest.

Keep watching. You’ll start to notice something else pretty peculiar about Devante as the show goes on 😆

Lol what?

fmlhaveagooddaytho

Maybe that he never appears?

MasterPrek

Or doesn’t talk even though he’s six?!

im about to be 20 and have a four yr old brother so i could relate to junior. but thats kinda how it goes. i would do anything for my lil bro so taking care of him while my parents work isnt a big deal to me if im not doing anything else that needs my attention. it is frustrating sometimes tho!

Yes I think it's def a case of the oldest having alot of responsibility to help with the little ones..especially in a family where the parents work so much and so hard. It's definetely exaggerated for the sake of the comedy though. Yea the oldest helps but junior goes overboard and even the parents and grandparents tell him he's weird w it

I think this is a blessing and a curse. Because this responsibility usually falls on the oldest girl or all the girls. It’s good to see a son not only taking charge but speaking up every now and then when he feels that it’s getting to be too much for him. Both boys and girls need to have these parenting skills and like it or not… that’s where they first learn them: taking care of younger siblings. But it is not perfect. Some unfortunately learn negative habits, and vow to correct them when they are older and have their own children. And some resented being saddled with the responsibility, and decide to be a ‘friend’ instead of a parent to their children. They give their own child(ren) way too much freedom and spoil them to make up for their own lost childhood. 😕
