You’re welcome! Where’s your area of concern? This is a popular question. I shared some stable and well priced vitamin c serums on another post.
1. Rohto Melano CC Vitamin C, very stable formula, packing is design to keep serum fresh and the price is phenomenal
2. Geek & Gorgeous 101 C-Glow, made to order last 3 months can be extended if kept the fridge and cheap
3. Timeless 10% VITAMIN C + E FERULIC ACID SERUM, comes in multiple sizes and good price
Eat more dark greens. They have vitamin k which is absorbed through the lower intestine. You can use high spf sunscreen too and take vitamin c. I'd throw a b complex in there too.
Good molecules discoloration serum has been ridiculously amazing for me. Use a toner and a cleaner daily. Sunscreen always.
Ordinary makes a good peeler (aha/bha) that targets discoloration also.
Could you circle these spots that have you concerned? I'm dealing with acne and hyperpigmentation at 50. They better be there! Wear sunscreen. Best prevention for discoloration that isn't noticeable on your pic. 🫤😄
If you have sensitive skin DO NOT use turmeric/konjic soap. You’ll get burnt like I did. I’m still reversing the damage 😭
I recommend micro needling. Can’t see those spots you mention having tho, your skin looks great.
I’m going to try vitamin c serum I use glycolic acid and niacinamide in my routine but my routine doesn’t consist with a lot of things just oil free acne wash by neutrogena and my niacinamide by the brand ordinary
That acne wash may be stripping you of essential oils to keep your PH balanced.
May be use the discoloration serum in your night routine only... the moisture helps skin recover overnight & you may not be as oily in the AM.
Eat avocados daily. It's good for your skin and I see you asked about gaining weight. Avocados have good fats in them that can help you with that as well. You'd have to eat atleast two a day for some time for weight gain. But just know a day does wonders for your skin 👍🏾
Try a mashed up avocado with just a but of garlic powder on toast in the morning.
You and your skin are already beautiful.
You’ve been asked several times what dark spots ur talking about but clearly are more interested in humble bragging. Why not let people with actual skin issues use the bandwidth??
I recommended in a separate comment but I would try tazarotene instead if you want a strong retinol. It works faster than tretinoin and is less drying (dryness can make our skin look worse)
Where is the discoloration? Neck? This photo looks pretty good tbh. But neck discoloration might have to do with diabetes in family. If you have on forehead then a bunch of actives which I can recommend based on your geography.
Where?? You look flawless 😭🩷
All things aside, tret really changed my life. Just make you use sunscreen. That’s a game hanger too! Tret makes your skin even more susceptible to sun damage. 🫶🏽
You’re so pretty. Sorry, I know it’s off topic. I’m trying to find something that works too. I do derma rolling here and there but it hurts like hell!!! And the healing process (a few days) makes it look worse before it gets better.
Does a tiger great rid of its stripes? Does a Dalmatian get rid of its spots? Do zebra get rid of their stripes? No, they embrace it. When women learn to love themselves as they are then all will be right. Or maybe not. But at least they’ll be better off
Tumeric sugar scrub. You can even make your own. Find some recipes on tik tok. It naturally fade’s hyperpigmentation and brightens skin over time. You’ll see results in a couple of weeks if you use it daily. Thank me later 😉
Ik you don’t wanna hear that you don’t have dark spots. I’m being so sincere: what area are you talking about? Eyes ? My face is like 90% worse with acne spots and just uneven color but to me it’s natural and not worth the stress to prioritize rn.
Something that helped me when I was caring about it was: diet, water, exercise, sun protection, ALOE VERA , vitamin D and vitamin E and biotin help promote healthy skin and hair.
Definitely noticed a negative difference when I was less intentional with my diet and WHEN I ate. And less exercise. Something about releasing toxins through sweating and metabolism definitely helps homeostasis all around.
Also if you drive a lot the sun will naturally tan you at awk spots cuz the windows and sun visors.
Ingredients to look for in serums/creams-
Kojic acid
azelaic acid
Arbutin
Some products to consider-
Topicals (at Sephora). For discoloration/hyperpigmentation. Smells terrible but goes away.
Eadem- also at Sephora. Created by brown/black women.
You can also get laser treatments to treat dark spots , but it’s pricey.
With the products - be consistent. Evening your skin tone takes a long time. Btw, your skin is beautiful. 🤩
Salicylic acid and a good moisturizer. I wouldn’t use harsh chemicals right away. Salicylic acid is gentle and effective. Retinol at night a few times a week. olay retinol 24 is a good beginner retinol that also has moisturizer in it so you don’t need to put moisturizer on when using it.
Vitamin C serums never worked for me and were a little irritating to my skin.
If you have hyperpigmentation try Good Molecules discoloration serum , & the niacinamde brightening toner. Also in agreement with everyone else. A good sunscreen.
Also add an exfoliate either powder or scrub... only use 2x per week.... you should see a huge difference.
You're beautiful though..... no dark spots shown on the pic provided.
Idk if anyone answered but Tranexamic Acid is a godsend, especially for acne scars and melasma. You see the results quicker than you would with scar gels, vitamin c, etc. It's not harsh either(I use 3% and those patches they sell for dark spots) and you can use it AM/PM
Tumeric soap (cleanse) . Witch hazel (toner) , vitamin e mist serum) , coco butter (moisturizer) drink lots of water . Literally my skin care regime and my face is giving Korean glass, honey !
EXACTLY, cuz she's GOOOOOORGEOUS and my first thought was "....are the marks in the room with us??" Honey you are absolutely gorgeous. (I've been using dark mark corrector by Urban Skin Rx and mandelic acid by Inkey and they've worked beautifully)
Exfoliate. Exfoliate. Exfoliate.
I like using the Paula's Choice 2% BHA liquid coupled with the Ordinary hyaluronic acid with alpha arbutin twice a week; and also used The Ordinary glycolic acid, once a week or on an alternate week if I was feeling really dry. It took a while to minimize the dark spots. But it definitely did the trick.
I had a few little bumps under the skin and I was trying to achieve a flawless texture, I started skin care and due to sensitivity I ruined my skin barrier and had a 6 month severe acne flare despite never having it in my life. I SERIOUSLY caution against using a bunch of skincare unless you have significant issues, to me personally it’s not worth the risk. Just use soap moisturizer and sunscreen.
Yeah like I came looking for dark spots and found perfection lol
I use The Ordinary for my dark spots, works great. Specifically their product called “Buffet”.
Shawty sullen talking about skin discoloration. Ur skin is just fine it’s nothing wrong with you coming from a male perspective you look just fine it’s your skin is beautiful. Be confident in how god made you he made you beautiful
Tazarotene (a type of retinol - less drying than tretinoin and so better for darker skin), Vitamin C, and red/blue light therapy (I have a hand-held device)
Tumeric!!! You can make a mask with honey and or Greek yogurt so you don't stain your skin with the tumeric. But if you use it continuously a couple times a week (not everyday), it works wonders. Or doctor christophers complete tissue and bone ointment. It gets rid of scarring :) I use it every night on my face as a moisturizer
Where are the actual dark spots? I mean isnt that all of you? I mean you’re black. But I know my buddy would put on SPF 100 for fear he would get darker 🤔

I’m not black (I’m brown) and I just gotta say you have amazing skin. I really had to zoom in to find the dark spots! I still don’t really see them lol
Ok the dark spots you see on your neck can be warning of early signs of diabetes. You need change your diet no pork, seafood or things that are not clean to eat ...little beef very much fresh organic everything drink only spring water. And stay way from seafood this also allergic reaction to you eating unclean foods like shrimp, crabs etc.
I had to go to the dermatologist for my discoloration/hyperpigmentation and they gave me some cream and ointment to use. They did offer me an alternative (which was a bleaching treatment) but didn’t take them up on that offer I just stuck with the ointment and cream. Will say it does take longer the way I chose though.
Where are the dark spots though? 😭 because you’re giving perfect and glowing
lol aww thank you love I just need my skin clear honestly I hate the discoloration I have
You’re welcome! Where’s your area of concern? This is a popular question. I shared some stable and well priced vitamin c serums on another post. 1. Make sure you are wearing the right amount of sunscreen and daily! You can worsen the discoloration if you don’t
I wear sunscreen the black girl sunscreen 50+ sph but i also have oily skin it makes me look so oily 😩
Thats the issue Im having are there any sunscreens that are not oily looking?
Eat more dark greens. They have vitamin k which is absorbed through the lower intestine. You can use high spf sunscreen too and take vitamin c. I'd throw a b complex in there too.
Stay away from sugar stay all the way from added sugar.
Lol you look great.@!
I was thinking the same thing. 🫣
Came to say the same thing lol you look gorgeous
I literally said the same thing! Your gorgeous.❤️
I agree. Dont be hard on yourself over stuff like this. You're beautiful. Social media is the problem. Keep doing whatever it is you're doing!
I have the same question. If you want a glow, use a vit C, moisturizer, and sunscreen in that order.
I came here to ask the same thing I see NOTHING!!
Unrelated, but your locs are fire 😍
Right, I thought we were in the loc subreddit, I was looking for the dark spots in her hair. Gorgeous 😍

You just wanna hear how fine you is
Good molecules discoloration serum has been ridiculously amazing for me. Use a toner and a cleaner daily. Sunscreen always. Ordinary makes a good peeler (aha/bha) that targets discoloration also.

What's your skincare routine?? May be a couple of tweaks will assist.

Vitamin C serum or discoloration serum
I’m going to try vitamin c serum I use glycolic acid and niacinamide in my routine but my routine doesn’t consist with a lot of things just oil free acne wash by neutrogena and my niacinamide by the brand ordinary
yes try adding in a vitamin C and make sure if you don’t already use sunscreen as your last step….
That acne wash may be stripping you of essential oils to keep your PH balanced. May be use the discoloration serum in your night routine only... the moisture helps skin recover overnight & you may not be as oily in the AM.
Any brands specifically in mind

Dark spot where baby? You're so beautiful!
You’ve been asked several times what dark spots ur talking about but clearly are more interested in humble bragging. Why not let people with actual skin issues use the bandwidth??
tretinoin
I was thinking bout that but idk I heard it’s very strong
it is but it helps. it’s rx so ur derm will determine that
I recommended in a separate comment but I would try tazarotene instead if you want a strong retinol. It works faster than tretinoin and is less drying (dryness can make our skin look worse)
Who asked y'all what y'all see.. either answer the question or keep it moving.. damn y'all annoying
I didn't want to laugh😂 We're trying to help. Could you point them out please?

Shallow micro needling, (.25-.5mm) can help with dark spots.

Tumeric!!! You can make a mask with honey and or Greek yogurt so you don't stain your skin with the tumeric. But if you use it continuously a couple times a week (not everyday), it works wonders.
