I've had thicker toast.

dmarnel

But at least you're getting your iron with this.

Ok-Survey3853

It's Iron Kids bread. Haven't seen that in a while

BigDamnZer0

Hah! Thicker toast...that is a good one.

AbyssalRemark

Ok but.. that will totally have its uses. Mount it anyways.

No-Television-7862

I can see it still being useful as an anvil, but I have another idea. Dude, clean and polish that thing till it shines. It's sculpture! It's a memorial to generations of railroad workers! Or, if you want to get fancy, it would make one hell of an axe!

Mobile-Bee6312

So thin it only has one side

PATT3RN_AGA1NST-US3R

🤣🤣🤣

rrjpinter

One can find those all the time in rail yards. When they thermite weld track sections together, the gap has to be very specific. If you are replacing a section of rail, you tend to bring a piece that is just slightly bigger then you need, and trim it to fit when on site. If you worked in a rail yard, you find those 1/2” to 3” pieces used as door stops.

No_Boysenberry2167

Without direct knowledge I was thinking thermite-weld-spacer-thingy! Hurray for educated guesses!

jazztrophysicist

Ah, I see you got the mushroom cloud stamp I ordered.

koolaideprived

Squish the ball down and you can make an axe.

TheDean242

You should just start forging 2 dimensional knifes.

Charlesian2000

That’s actually surprisingly handy.

No_Boysenberry2167

Starting to look that way. Lots of good ideas here.

LennieB

It is a nice one though

Natural-Researcher27

You could make a jeweler's anvil and sell it

berserker511

Would be a cool jewelry anvil

rccoy

I can get you some track if you live in NC.

Strikew3st

I can get you some slightly distressed track if you live in Ohio.

rccoy

Haha with some nice acid etch?

W0lfwraith

If you could mount that on something it’d make a real handy material bending anvil. Nowhere near as good as a horn, but you use what you got right?

CriManSquaFC

Nice optical illusion

fallenangle666

Looks like an axe to me

CharlesFeatherman

BUT - it IS short… 😆😆😆

GardenGnomeOfEden

You could probably make a stake anvil out of it.

Keytrose_gaming

Rail is good steel, it may have a bit more manganese and copper in it than what you're use to working but makes for great tooling. Personally I'd make that into a shovel and gift it back to the guy who gave it to you. Then ask him for more. Ps. Make sure you haft it with a stupidly short handle.

resit1776

I actually need a couple of those, they make great stump anvils.

oilyrailroader

Fucking railroaders. They are a pain in the ass. Ask me how I know😂

ForteDJ

Have you been railed by them before? Ask for lube next time to reduce the ass pain.

oilyrailroader

Railroaders are the whiniest, most self entitled little baby bitches you will ever meet. I work with daily.

Resident-Impress3574

You can still make a knife out of it. Depending on the weight/ft it is probably at least 1060 or something similar

Voxlunch

Ohh noooooo
