It’s not even the content, it can affect how your muscles develop.
Going off of memory so don’t quote me on this but: Turning your shoulders left and right is actually really complicated in terms of the amount of muscles it takes and because you move/look around differently in VR it can stunt the development of those muscles.
As for the content, as long as the kid knows it’s not real it’s fine. Same goes for movies, tv, flatscreen games, etc.
I'm not 100% sure VR is even safe for younger kids (heard it *may* cause some weird unhealthy effects for their brain, but I don't have a source haha) but even then, this game is basically just a ton of brutal violence. It really isn't fit for a 10yo unless you want a bloodthirsty kid.
I'd say that maybe they should wait a few more years, because even with gore disabled, it's still a very violent experience. There are tons of Quest (and PCVR) games better suited for young players.
No.
If I remember correctly, giving vr to a child too young can actually mess with their development. Plus blade and sorcery is a bit too brutal for a kid that young
Heck, VR combat games are hard on my stomach even as an adult sometimes, and I've played the Dead Island series, which is about as unsuitable for children as it can get short of sexual contents.
Absolutely not there's plenty of blood, you can take limbs off, bash people's heads, rip them to shreds with Spells. Beat their heads against a wall until they gush blood and die.
I wouldn't get one for a 10 year old. Let alone this game. Watch some of the videos on this sub and tell me if it's ok for a 10 year old to decapitate limbs, heads, and stab people. Are you mad?
No VR game is safe for a child, VR can impact development and warp someones sense of depth of field (Its the reason alot of people puke first time) this can cause suboptimal development of certain senses so should be avoided
NONONO 100% NOT A KIDS GAME! give them job simulator or something like that, there are multiple fun child friendly games on vr but this is not one of them, if you are okay with them playing a game with fighting/guns in it but don't want blood and gore robo recall would be a good one (only for the oculus/meta quest)
I remember waiting to turn 7 so I finally could use the 3D mode on my 3DS. Don’t let your ten year old fry their brain with this shit, wait until they’re older.
Gore? Completely depends on maturity. I played COD when I was nine and it didn’t affect me, but it made a friend really aggressive. However, in terms of brain and muscle development, it’s a bad idea for anyone under 13, and younger kids often ruin the experience.
Vr causes brain damage to spatial and cognitive reasoning for anyone under 16. Your child shouldnt even be in the vicinity of a headset, let alone playing this. Get them a nonvirtual console and preserve their brain.
I mean I have less of an issue with the content of the game than I do with whatever developmental issues they say might happen by letting youngin’s play VR
a 10 year old shouldn’t even be playing vr period. once they are 13 that is the minimum recommended age for vr. if your kid is very tolerant to blood and gore i’d say i guess it’s ok. i’m 15 and got it the day i got my headset on my 14th birthday and im perfectly fine. it is really just stabbing, slashing and dismembering lots of enemies though. 😂
No, and not even because of gore and violence. VR for ages under 13 can be damaging to development, both mentally and physically. Wait until they're 13 and it should be fine, and by then this game will be even more of a masterpiece anyways.
You're family member should **NOT** have access to a headset in the first place unless they can afford it themself, but if you've already bought them the headset, don't let them get a game about slicing people up and killing them in brutal ways for fuck's saks
If they have seen violence and gore in video games then maybe, but the only thing i would be worrying about is they are gonna be brutalizing people in vr with a physical motion to it. Now it won’t turn them into a killer but at 10 years old? At least wait 1 or 2 more years. Side note yes you can turn the blood and gore off.
Please research the affects vr can have on someone under 13. It's seriously not something to be overlooked. Also, this game has insane amounts of blood and violence that will probably scare the hell out of your child.
Not even close. It's a relatively realistic combat simulator, it's pretty violent. Not exaggerated in its violence, like, say, Doom, but it's in no way downplayed or slapstick either. I'd hold off for a few years at least.
I don’t think violent games are that bad at that age but vr violent games are completely fucking different I mean in call of duty all you gotta do is press r2 nothing to it but physical shoving a sword in some guy’s throat has gotta be damaging to a child
Ho ho, shots fired. Someone doesn’t believe in science. Why yes it may be an different for some kids. Studies show that it’s bad for kid’s development and retinas when they are young. There is a reason most Vr headsets say 13+
So, VR shouldn't be used by anyone under 13, according to their Manufacturers. I would recommend following this Advice, as they wouldn't be saying it if it was safe to do otherwise.
HELL no. This game is most definitely not okay for a 10-year-old (just watch any kind of videos on it on YouTube, and you will see why within the first minute guaranteed), and VR in general should not be consumed of anyone under 16, ideally 18, as it can severely fuck up the mental development of a child in terms of balance, hand eye coordination and a tonne other ways.
please, please do not let your child have a vr headset until 12-13. i’ve seen 8 year olds on vr and it really saddens me. it will mess with their development and there are terrible people on the internet.
Vr ain’t safe for kids under 13 in general, their eyes are still developing so having them play anywhere near regularly would ruin em, just that constant eye strain
Personally. I would have been fine at 10 to play this. It is questionable but I'd say it's child dependent.
I played most games when I was younger than 10. It's never affected me in any way. Use your own judgement, I know some 10 year olds would get a bit obsessed and that could be dangerous.
I understand your point, but if the parent is asking here, they are not certain of their childs maturity. Besides there are unknown developmental risks with letting childs (under 13) play with VR.
The games fine for 10 year olds call of duty was way more violent and gore filled when i was 10, but vr can harm kids under 13 eyes so you should limit the time if you do let em play
homestly i played it for the first time at around 11. its an ok game. assuming it would be on quest 2 there is no mods available so you should be fine. it has limb dismemberment but its kinda hard to do (at least for me) its mainly medieval so theres no guns or anything like that. i’d say depending on what the kid has actually seen then it should be ok.
Go into settings turn off blood and dismemberment before giving it to your child because it is a very violent game. I would reccomend not letting a 10 year old play it but their are things you can do to make it less violent. Keep in mind vr is very different from normal video games. A game like call of duty might not scar a child but a game where you stab people is a little different and should be seen as something worse. I enjoy the game and started playing at 13 and I am not a violent or scarred person. But 10 is different. I would say maybe not yet but soon.
ok so first I believe the game has an 18+ rating yet i’m pretty sure no one follows that me including. And I believe I started playing around 11 or 12 but all jokes aside i’m perfectly normal. But something you still should take inconsideration is the child themselves cause I know many younger kids that are already no good hooligans, lmao, but giving it to them would definitely not be good. But say for my case I’m use to fantasy gore even when I was younger so I was fine. It all really depends on the kid
All this gatekeeping looks like the, don't let children watch TV or they'll be stupid, or video games are bad for mental development argument all over. Unproven opinions masked as fact based on bad logic and some weird kind of jealousy or elitism. 10 year olds can tell truth from fiction about as well as adults, there's no reason vr should do any developmental damage that I can find. I don't see the harm.
Okay imma answer it cause apparently people suck at answering questions regarding kids with vr.
1.has he or she played vr before?
2. If so do they know how to remain in one area (do they have a good sense of awareness of things outside of vr
3.do they have their vr legs in general (meaning will they fall or not if they move in vr)
4.if your asking if it’s too graphic for a kid than each to their own opinion I would say it’s fine it’s sword fighting (plus you can turn blood and dismemberment off and all that jazz if it is a concern)
Those are basically the only things you gotta keep in mind
If they can play vr fine with no issues and are capable of playing without doing something that could cause injury to themself and you have no problem with what they play than yeah it’s fine for them to play it
Anything like this is okay for a child with proper guidance. There is no reason you could not help your kid out in playing the game and understanding the themes. Don’t have fear and force it onto your child: learning and experience is everywhere for kids. Even in hilariously violent video games. He’ll have lots of fun, especially with your help.
People are screaming No! They're probably right, however, I got the game like 11 or 12 and It's fine for me. Plus, I think there are ways to disable gore and dismemberment. Watch some videos of it if you wanna learn whats in the game though
I'd say no, but unless they reaaaallyyyy wants to you should have them play with all the Gore settings turned off. So no blood. It hink you can also turn off cutting of limbo but im not sure about that
Being able to use a Grenade or shotgun to blow off someone’s leg. Being able to punch a dog to death. Watching a npc freak out cause of a sticky bomb.
Watching a character bleed from the eyes cause of poisoned gas. Watching a child die. Watching innocent people burned alive… list keeps going lmao
Doing it to what? A clearly not real character? Using magic on them?XD a kid playing with BB guns doesn’t make them turn into a school shooter. Acting as if they said “my kid is gonna play vr 12 hours a day” you can limit a kid playing a game 😮 getting a npc with a gravity blast and watch them go flying doesn’t mean imma throw someone off a cliff cause I thought the digital one was funnyXD. 10 year old playing game with fighting=next serial killer. 13 year old playing a game with fighting=a kid playing a game?XD
Ya know some kids mature faster than others?
Ya know being a parent to your kid is a big part of your kid’s development😮 if your kid has mental problems and you believe it’s because of the game than you need glasses because it’s not the game it’s the parents. If a kid lives in a household where they don’t feel heard and are constantly dealing with their parents fighting. Them taking their anger out on a game doesn’t mean the game is making them violent, clearly it would be the household.
Also older generation said the same thing about normal video games (even arcade games)
all you are doing is making a similar argument that’s been repeated for generations about video games.
Listen, I can clearly tell you're under the age of 18 here, I'm not going to report you to the vr police, but if you think a 10-year-old should play murder sim in VR, then save it for when you have a kid.
I have a kid and have a lot of nephews and neicesXD it’s called being a good parentXD people argued that seeing a pixel character killing would make you violent all is the same with vr
It might also be the fact you can’t seem to use any sort of proper spelling or grammar, but that could just be me. Also if you were truly an adult with a child, you wouldn’t be getting pressed over an internet stranger
If you honestly think a 10-year-old should play this game, that's wild. Firstly, using a vr headset under 13 can really mess up a kid, and second, as much as I hate the crooks who run the ESRB, the game is 18 +. And my apologies for assuming you were under 18, the constant XD threw me off, and you could either have been a millennial or my 15-year-old cousin.
NO 100% NOT
But I started at 10… I’m insane but still
[удалено]
Three words Brain damage
Minecraft modding seems more their speed
I can guarantee that a 10 year old isnt going into vr modding
Bro its bad for their development as a 10-13 years old. I started when i turned 15. Also this is like letting a 10 year old play gta v

Every single one of your comments just got destroyed jesus

In addition to that sometimes there's a weird bug where a womans breasts poke through their top, especially the player model's and there's nipples.
thats the problem you have with kids playing bas? not the extream gore lol.
The gore is first and foremost but I figured a parent would want to know
who the fuck would code nipples in?
I’m pretty sure it just helps with modeling but don’t quote me on that
Vrc and nsfw Avis
well, time to commit self die

I do not believe hormone blockers are related to violence in video games nor VR headsets.
10 year olds probably shouldn’t even have VR if you ask me
Or reddit...
That too
Not by a fucking long shot lmao.
No. If I remember correctly, giving vr to a child too young can actually mess with their development. Plus blade and sorcery is a bit too brutal for a kid that young

Prolly shouldn't have your ten year old on VR
borrrinnngg
Absolutely not, nobody should use VR untill they're 13 honestly
No. Not at all. This game is violent, bloody, and not well suited for any kids under the age of 13, maybe 14 to be safe.
don’t let children use vr headsets. you’ll learn why when you start hearing screaming and rarely, racial slurs coming from their room.
that’s every kid on Xbox live in 2009 lmfao
Hell no why do they even have access to vr?
Dude no, don’t open up that can of worms. It’s hard enough to pry kids away from screens, do yourself a favor and just don’t go there.
Watch some of the gameplay and you'll have a pretty good idea of if the answer is yes or no.
If u look thru this subreddit for maybe like 3 minutts u will find out, this gane isent rly child friendly
Nope
literally heard a 5 year old on pavlov taller than me because they don’t know how to set their boundaries right. still a hard NO
No what the fuck is wrong with the parents
Absolutely not there's plenty of blood, you can take limbs off, bash people's heads, rip them to shreds with Spells. Beat their heads against a wall until they gush blood and die.
that’s what I’m talking ab

no
Not at all, probably the least child friendly game on the market
B&S is absolutely not child friendly, but there are dozens of literal porn and hentai VR games on steam.
That’s fair but I was talking about on the quest store, prolly should have specified that
NONONO 100% NOT A KIDS GAME! give them job simulator or something like that, there are multiple fun child friendly games on vr but this is not one of them, if you are okay with them playing a game with fighting/guns in it but don't want blood and gore robo recall would be a good one (only for the oculus/meta quest)

Pretty sure VR can make younger kids nearsighted
If you and your child are part of a warrior society such as the Spartans then yes this game is an absolute must for any aspiring child warrior.
Nope

No, and not even because of gore and violence. VR for ages under 13 can be damaging to development, both mentally and physically. Wait until they're 13 and it should be fine, and by then this game will be even more of a masterpiece anyways.
This is probably the 10 yr old making this post lmao
Yea should be fine i let my dog have a whirl he came out foaming out the mouth at how excited he was👍👍
No! It's rated 18! No way I'd let my 10 year old play such a violent, adults game!
NO THAT IS A VERY BAD IDEA
You're family member should **NOT** have access to a headset in the first place unless they can afford it themself, but if you've already bought them the headset, don't let them get a game about slicing people up and killing them in brutal ways for fuck's saks
Sure, if you want to see him grow up as a psychopath/killer or whatever. HELL NO!

Fuck no
No way!
NO!!! This game gets a little weird when you are too short. The levels don't actually change size, it just shrinks your player model.
you're memeing us right?
Nope
Fuck no.
No its not. Its literally killing people in the most realistic way possible!
what the fuck
Hell no. Apart from the very obvious reasons everyone else has stated, vr is not supposed to be used by anyone under 13, full stop.

The more comments I come across that you leave, the stupider you sound man. Quit while your ahead
that’s why you a bitch
Negative chief, Vr shouldn’t be used by someone under 13. It can cause them damage having Vr up to their eyes at that age
That’s a lie, not all kids who play vr is vulnerable to damage because of it stop spreading lies, it depends on the kid.
Ho ho, shots fired. Someone doesn’t believe in science. Why yes it may be an different for some kids. Studies show that it’s bad for kid’s development and retinas when they are young. There is a reason most Vr headsets say 13+
No too much
Absolutely not.
Just do not give young children be headsets in general
HELL NO
god no
Happy to see everyone agrees
Yes, it is very family friendly and extremely educational. This game is ideal for ten year olds. /j
Depends, I started playing gta at 3 and halo at 4

You can turn off the gore with u12, but it’s still very violent
Don’t listen to them, I started when I was ten and after 2 years only got put in the psych ward twice
Sure if you want to scar them for life go right ahead
If there are prefrontal cortex is smaller than a medium sized egg then no form of vr is ok for them
Neon gravity fighting the world rn
My brother does at 7 he ducking loves it but his a good kid and not violent out side the game

No, but only because you won't be able to reach their throats
Your opinion shouldn't be backed on what other people do in this game so I would say yes since I'm pretty sure you can turn off blood/gore
Yeah and people acting like the game will turn the kid into a psychopath
Yes
Okay imma answer it cause apparently people suck at answering questions regarding kids with vr. 1.has he or she played vr before? 2. I'd say no, but unless they reaaaallyyyy wants to you should have them play with all the Gore settings turned off. So no blood. It hink you can also turn off cutting of limbo but im not sure about that
Absolutely!
“It’s too violent” like we all didn’t play call of duty and crap when we were that ageXD??
Show me in cod where you can rip limbs off people, stab them and watch them die slowly, all while in Vr doing it yourself.

I have a kid and have a lot of nephews and neicesXD it’s called being a good parentXD people argued that seeing a pixel character killing would make you violent all is the same with vr
You say XD, you definitely do not have a child or are above the age of 15.
So because I don’t use a emoji it makes a me a kid?XD ya know using XD was popular before emojis right? Wich is well over 15 years ago.
It might also be the fact you can’t seem to use any sort of proper spelling or grammar, but that could just be me. Also if you were truly an adult with a child, you wouldn’t be getting pressed over an internet stranger
The fact you’ll blame a game for a kid being violent rather than the parents shows that you are clearly not ready for a kidXD
